+ -1 moreE J Claffey Co. did a great job on our extesive remodeling project. Ed Claffey ( Owerr ) designed and installed a radiant paneel in floor heating system. Our remodeling project was very complicated and Ed worked with great patience and expertise to design the most efficient system possible and install it - inspite of many complications with other contractors working on our project. We love the radiatnt floor heat. The warm floors throughout are so comfortalble and the heat is even if that makes sense.. The work also included a Unico ai/c sytem that works perfectly on the hottest summer days. All the work was done in a very professional way with no delays. E J Claffey Co has been around for decades and I thinkd Ed Claffey is as smart as they come. I give a high recommendation.

Description of Work: This company was hired by my condo board to change heat/air risers in our building. The work described relates to my two apartments alone. Work was started March 2010 and involved taking down kitchen cabinets, removing dry wall in multiple areas of two adjacent apartments.New Copper pipe was placed. New Fan coils were placed. Walls and soffits were closed. The whole building was complete by Dec 2010. A noise of continuous flowing water comes from the soffits next to the bedrooms. This noise is about 45 db and can not be turned off. I struggle agaist the noise every night when I go to sleep. Nothing could be done about it all winter due to danger of losing heat by turning off and balancing the system. The company did a "study" April 14th and attempted to rebalance the system. I was out of town that week and could not speak on my own behalf. Elara concluded that its plan was correct, the job was correctly done and that 45 db was acceptable ( most literature quotes 30-35db for private home/livingroom). Any additional noise attenuation should be the responsibility of the owner ie me.
