We are probably going to go with them but we just haven't had the time. They came out and gave us an estimate. Everything was fine. I think they appeared to be fine. We didn't spend any money on the estimate. It was fine and basically they gave me an estimate more than a year ago, and we never went ahead with it because we were doing other projects. They just came out again and I just wanted to make sure that the estimate was the same. I was checking the door colors and it was pretty boring. They were going to give me the same price that they quoted me a year ago and so I was just double checking Angie's list to make sure that their reviews were still good before I decided to go with them. I checked their reviews and I think that their prices are good. They are very responsive in coming out and they'll come whenever you want them to. They kind of work with your schedule. They were really good about coming when I needed them to come. Some companies give you like a window but they don't do that. They come when they say they are going to come. So it was fine. They were great and fine. They came pretty much within a day or two. We are probably going to deal with them. We just spent all the money on our vacation and so we are waiting for sometime. We will use their services again in the future.
Description of Work: We got an estimate from Door Pro America Inc. We did not use their services. They came out and gave us an estimate may be a couple of weeks ago for garage doors.

We chose Door Pro America because of their relationship with Costco and because they are on Angie's List. The salesman who came to our house to measure and give us a quote was pleasant and knowledgeable. The price was set by Costco and there were no hidden charges. The installation went extremely well. The installer was great and completed the job in a short time. The door worked perfectly without requiring any adjustment. We are very pleased with the door and the opener and the quality of the installation. We would recommend them to others. There is one cautionary note, however. The sales representative at Costco had advised us to use the new CFL bulb in the opener, instead of an incandescent bulb, in order to reduce heat generated by the incadescent bulb, and to avoid melting the plastic covering. When the installer placed the CFL bulb in the socket, it did not work. The installer said this had happened quite frequently. We checked the opener manual which states to use ONLY incandescent bulbs. So, buyers beware.

Saw a saleswoman at Costco, offerring a discount on the doors and scheduled an appointment to discuss with a company representative. The estimator showed on time, if not a few minutes early and he gave an estimate and we picked a color. Price was good and we thought we had picked a color to match the exterior of the house. Unfortuntaley, we did not take the sample door color down stairs to see if it matched the exterior. When the door showed up, it was the wrong color. The installer was very helpful and got us the gith color door and installed it the next week. There have not been any issues with the door or the installation. I really do appreciate the installer's willingness to get us the right door color to match the exterior.

Doors have to come from east coast and when there are ready I get a phone call to schedule install. On day of appointment installers arrive and start installation. After two hours they let me know there is a problem with getting my garage door openers to work with the new doors. I point out that they installed 12' radius tracks and not low over head tracks. They leave me with working doors but not with the openers installed. Call their corporate office in Virginia and explain situation. They schedule to send another installer the next day. He comes out say he can't fix the garage door openers, they didn't send him with the right tracks. Talk to corporate again, they schedule another install to come out on saturday. Installer is a no show because he blew the engine on his truck while driving to my place. Reschedule for the next saturday. Installer arrives and puts in the correct track, gets one door working with garage door opener. Still have one door not working right. Have to talk to corporate again. They end up sending the regional install manager, he fixes the door in a half hour.
Description of Work: Went thru the Costco garage door purchase program. Salesman came out and measured doors. Placed an order that included low overhead tracks because of a beam and using a garage door opener.

The salesperson who initially came to the house was very pleasant and knowledgeable. He gave us sufficient information to make a decision about exactly what to order, as well as how the garage needed to be prepared for the installation, and he measured the door space. He said I had to be available for the entire day, 8AM-5PM, for the installation. I told him it was extremely important for the installation to be done on time, since I had a heavy schedule the following week. After several phone calls, I managed to schedule a follow-up visit for him to check the garage to be sure it was ready for the installation so there would be no possibility of any delay. He said everything was fine. An installation person showed up on time on a Friday. He explained that the installation could not be done that day, since the doors had not been cut to the right dimensions. The error arose from the fact that the garage is over thirty years old, and different in some respects from a more recent structure. In other words, a company that advertises itself as having been in business since 1971 was derailed by a very standard garage built in 1976. I made several more phone calls and was told that the doors would be cut on Saturday and installed on Monday. I called again on Monday, after clearing my schedule for that day, and was told that the installation would not be done until Tuesday. The installation on Tuesday went smoothly. The doors have worked well for two months; however, the opener now has an intermittent problem with the safety sensors, so it's sometimes necessary to hold down the switch until the door closes completely. This is a common problem and easily fixed, but I needed to be shown how to do it. I scheduled a repair visit and was told to be available from 12-5PM the following Friday. Nobody came. I called the office before 4PM Pacific time and got a message that they were closed. The answering system was very bad, with no way to leave a message for customer service. I later learned that the office responsible for scheduling is in Virginia. I spoke to the original salesman, who apologized profusely and offered to facilitate a repair visit as quickly as possible. He later told me the local installation people had no record of the scheduled repair call. I asked for a phone number to reach the installation people, and told him I had no interest in any further dealings with the Virginia office. He gave me the number and assured me he would take steps personally to improve communications within the company. I am submitting a copy of this report to Costco in the hope that something will be done to improve administrative support for the field workers, who do a good job.
Description of Work: We needed new garage doors and I had no time for comparison shopping. I thought Costco would at least give a competitive price and some protection in the event of any problem with their contractor (DoorPro). We ordered steel doors that are double-walled with insulation and decorative windows for about $1300 each, including installation. The Amarr doors are beautiful. Neighbors we don't know have yelled to us about how great-looking they are. This report is about the installation process. In a nutshell: the field workers (sales and installation) are competent, efficient, and helpful, and appear to be doing the best they can under the circumstances, so they rate an A; however, the management responsible for scheduling and organizing their work is so poor that it rates no better than an F. So, the net grade is C.

Excellent sales and installation, exactly the way you'd like it to go dealing with a contractor.
Description of Work: This large company replaced two 20+ year old garage doors with new steel and insulation ones. Had large inventory, the best price and features for the money. I contacted them through Costco (so you knew there there would be no nonsense and a good price), so got a good discount and some features offered by other dealers for extra money, such as torsion rather than extension springs and an extra remote control per door. No-pressure sales rep. Company provides top-quality Amarr doors and Liftmaster motors. I was very pleased with the price, the phone coordination/notification in advance of delivery and the on-time installation by a professional, experienced and courteous installer. Top notch, highly recommended.

We contacted this service through our local Costco. The salesmen for Doorpro America was not professional or nice. He had the slimy car salesman kind of attitude that did not give us much comfort, however because we knew what we wanted and counted on Costco's guarantee we decided to use their services. The service guys were excellent and the job was done promptly and on time. I am very happy with the quality of the new door and the opener. It has made a huge difference in our home.

The sales rep was actually an installer who was doing sales work due to some internal company issue. He wrote up the job and I wrote him a check for $1445.00 The job should be complete in about 30 days. The next day I discovered that he had pulled 2 contact phone numbers out of thin air which were not mine. I called him and he said he would correct it. A little annoying but so far so good. Late August arrives and I call Door Pro America to see what the status of my order is. "We tried to call you." Me- "What numbers did you call?" As it turns out sales guy had never made the correction or the admin folks never made the correction. More annoying. We set up an install date. That date arrives and mid day I call them and they say, "Uhh, hang on." They come back on and say "We can't install today because we don't have you on our schedule." "What?!?" So we set up another schedule date for 9/7/10 and this time they do show up. The installer is very professional BUT the door does not match - 6 panel vs. existing 5 panel - so it goes right back on the truck with his sincere apologies. The company attempts to get me to buy a second door to match the one they have created but I say NO. Now it is ANOTHER 30 days to get the correct door. Install date is now 10/11/10. Mid morning I call to see what is up. "Oh, the door is on some truck somewhere and we can't do it today." UNBELIEVABLE! We agree on 10/14/10. The original sales guy, now back to installer, shows up with the new door. As he's pulling it off the truck I am looking at my door and looking at his door and the dimensions are not the same - AGAIN! We get out tape measures and do some detailed measuring. He calls his boss who says that they cannot make a door to match mine based on the measurements. WHY DIDN'T SALES GUY DO THAT IN JULY???? So, I will eventually be getting a refund, but I can't imagine that will go smoothly. Recall that we started in JULY and now in mid OCTOBER I don't have a door. In all fairness, the doors that did ship looked to be quite nice, but the "TEAM" is not doing very well. Additional note - I complained to the manager of the Aloha Costco who promised to look into it and call me back. Did he? No.
Description of Work: Aloha Costco had a vendor day back in July which featured Door Pro America. We have 2 matching large garage doors at our house, one of which needed replacement so I asked them to come out and give us a bid to replace ONE door. The job description was to fabricate one door to match the other.

Response from Door Pro America Co
We originally had our salesman out for a consultation to replace this customers door. The salesman attempted to sell a replacement of 1 door to match the other, per the customers request. The order was written up as such. Unfortunatly the Manufacturer changed the design/construction of this door from a 6 section to a 5 section door, thus it would not match the other door exactly. Ultimately, the matter was resolved with this member, and a refund was offered. The customer requested that we perform a repair on the current door to get it in working order, which is currently scheduled to be completed this week.

We had old wood masonite doors, one of which with some damage and both were an "odd" size that we had trouble with other vendors in finding the right size. We had two garage doors installed. The salesman, Larry, was exceptionally knowledgeable. He found a company that carried the size we needed and even did a minor repair on the damage door so that it could be used during the three week order time. The doors arrived with in three weeks and the install was scheduled for a few days later in the morning. The installed arrived in the afternoon. The doors were stunning and install went fine other than a piece of trim was missing; the installer said he would be back later in the day but never returned. When I called the office the next day, I was told the paperwork was turned in as "job completed". After explaining about the trim piece an installer was scheduled to come two days later for a first appointment. He arrived at 830 and installed the trim piece. 10 minutes after he left I noted that the corner of the trim piece was folded on one side and over the side trim on one door. While the other door that was finished had both top trip corners under the side pieces. I called the office to see if the installed could come right back to have the four corners match. I said I knew it was a minor thing and didn't know if over or under was best but just wanted them to match as I have 4 corners and 3 different "patterns". The dispatcher was unable to reach the installer so a new appointment was made for two days later. When the installer arrived he told my husband "the work is satisfactory and if you have a problem call your salesman". I called the salesman and he was very sincere in his apology for the installers comment and assured me that he would get someone out there to make the job right. The next day the install manager came over and remove the one trim piece and reinstalled it to match the other door. He even caulked the trim and nail holes...a service that is not part of a normal install. While it may seem that some of the install challenges could have resulted in a lower ranking; the professionalism of our salesman, Larry and the follow thru (above and beyond) of the install manager made up for what could have been a dissapointing experience. I am trilled with the performance, look and quietness of the doors and would use Door Pro again should it become necessary.

The product is fantastic. The door is made of metal, and is insulated, quiet, and I can feel the temperature difference in the garage on the product. It was a recent purchase and we got a great price for it. However, it was delivered with a couple of dents and I didn't notice the dents during the installation. I haven't yet re-contacted them to replace the one panel. It was probably a shipping damage, either a manufacturing or packing error that caused the dents because they are regular repeating dents.
