+ -1 moreI made the mistake of hiring Spence Fencing in August of 2023 to put a chain link fence around my backyard. It was approximately 75’X100’. He showed up 4 times and then started making excuses as to why he couldn’t finish. I had no choice but to wait because I had already paid him in full. Last year came and went. I got ahold of him this year (2024) and at first he sounded like he was going to get right here and finish. He said he had all my materials already purchased. I waited patiently and then a month later he said he was to busy. He had everything but the time. Then at the beginning of June I contacted him again and he was disrespectful telling me he had done all he was going to and didn’t want to work for me and I could do it myself. He then blocked my phone. I have every receipt and every message from him proving all this. He didn’t even remove the old fence which was in his bid. He also removed the string line on one section making it crooked. He also put down wire on wrong side.
Description of Work: I was having a dog fence built around my backyard. At this point I have done more work on this fence than he did. I had to do the tear down of the old fence myself. I put in the two end post myself. I removed the down wire that was put on the wrong side of the post and am in the process of putting them on right. I will at some point have to dig up the section that is crooked and straighten it out. I also have to make all 5 gates myself. He hasn’t even returned any money so I have had to purchase the material for the gates and a small section of fence again. I am 62 years old with a hip replacement and both shoulders reverse replaced so I shouldn’t even be doing this but if I want my fence done this year I’ve got to do it myself. If you do hire this guy make sure you wait until the job is done before you pay him. Anyone wanting to see the messages and receipts I have everything. I guess I have to sue him to retrieve any of my money back. I want to make sure I’m the last one he does this to.

+ -1 moreThey started the job on a less than optimal day of as far as weather went. They had the posts in the first day and the fence up the second day all with cold weather and less than optimal conditions. We're very pleased with that and that's the reason for the five star rating.
