Schell Sealcoating and Paving

This is the second year in a row that I have used Schell Sealcoating. If you are looking for the cheapest option, this is not your choice. If you are looking for a service that is meticulous about pre-cleaning your driveway, trimming back any vegetation that may line your drive so as not to contaminate it and use of a more eco-friendly/safe sealant, this is your service. I am very happy with the quality of their work and will use them without hesitation next year.

I was looking for a seal coating company that used an environmentally friendly product as I kept hearing about the health concerns to humans and animals with the traditional coal tar products. I've only used companies with coal tar sealing products in the past. I was pleased to find highly rated Schell Sealcoating Co. Owner, Jeff Schell, returned my call promptly, answered all my questions over the phone, came out personally for the estimate, answered more questions and provided a quote that was less than I've ever paid before for seal coating my small, single car driveway. He was able to schedule me quickly since school was about to start and we have lots of foot traffic on our sidewalk/driveway area. His team was friendly, professional, neat and did a great job. My driveway looks fantastic--still about a month later and after some heavy rains. I will be calling him again for the next application in 2017.

I'm downgrading the quality of this work from a "B" to a "C". It's been about 7 months since this work was done and it appears that it will need to be sealcoated again when the weather improves. I don't know if the sealant they used just seeped into the asphalt, but even the places that they came out to repair are cracking again. Not sure if this is because the driveway hadn't been sealed for so many years, but there are a number of spots that are no longer black, and the cracks that were sealed (twice) are cracking again and the sealant brushes away. I think the service of this company is very good, but I am starting to question the quality/thickness of the sealant that was used. Is this the typical lifespan of sealant? Also, it irks me that they filled in some of the wheel dips in the asphalt (and other minor grade change areas) but they did not fill one of the major wheel dips. Bugs me every time I look at it Will need to reach out to them again when the weather warms up to see what can be done. Once that happens I will re-review and re-grade as appropriate.

Jeff did a great job. He stayed on top of the weather, and got us slotted in between weeks of rain.

I could not be happier. They were prompt in getting an estimate, followed through with timely communication dealing with rain delays. The driveway looks terrific and was significantly less expensive than the original estimate because the crack filling was less extensive. They came back promptly to fix some areas of washout from rain and to refill a crack. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Great. Very prompt, great communication, and a quality result. They were even nice enough to move the kids basketball hoop out of the way (too heavy from my wife)

They were clean, professional and very courteous. Driveway has never been cleaned off prior to the sealcoating as well as Schell did it. Excellent work.

Schell offers outstanding customer service and a job well done. They offer snow plowing tailored to your specific wants. We called in a pinch when our last company was not doing a great job mid-season. Jeff Schell was ready to help, and we hired his company for the very next snow fall. His crew does an excellent job of clearing the snow, shoveling and salting to make our driveway safe. We have used them at two different locations and are thrilled with the service. A+ all around!

Jeff was very responsive to my questions and needs. They were quick and thorough. The only thing was that when the job was done there were some areas which did not seal well. I called jeff up sent him some pictures and he sent out his crew to redo that area free of charge. After that second time it looked perfect. I think the test of a great company is not what they initially do but how do they handle an error or issue, jeff ce through for us and that's what matters

After I called Schell about an estimate, someone came out within a couple of days to check out our driveway. We have a rather long driveway so the estimate was close to what we expected. Scheduling time for the job wasn't a problem. They arrived on the day/time we agreed upon and completed the job in a timely manner. My husband and I are happy with the services received. We recommend Schell and we plan to use them in the future.

It was fine. They did a nice job. I'm waiting to see how long it lasts. They did everything I wanted.

They were reliable, timely and neat and the pricing was fair. The sealant has started to wash off in a few places, but I think this is because of the product, not the application. The coal-tar based products definitely last longer but they are carcinogenic and my kids play on the driveway so we are committed to using this product and using Jeff to seal coat on an annual basis.

Workers called first to say when they were coming. They came early and I wasn't ready so they came back a few hours later and did the job in a timely manner. We will use them again next year. Friendly and professional. Explained the whole process and the materials used. Environmentally friendly.

The crew arrived on time, verified the work to be performed, completed the patches and application, and cleaned-up. Very fast and professional work. We haven't received the invoice yet, but the initial quote was good.

Mr. Jeff was responsive and timely. He followed up to schedule the service. He explained the products ahead of time. The work was neat and as expected. This is the kind of job that needs to be done right the first time and it was!

They did a FANTASTIC job and came out on time as promised. They even came back to re-apply a bit of sealant that washed away in a rain the night they performed the original work. I will be sure to recommend these guys to anyone I know looking for someone to seal-coat their driveway. Very Pleased!

Although Schell Sealcoating arrived later than originally scheduled (I had to call to find out what was going on), the man who did the work was conscientious, thorough, and he completed the job by the end of the day.
