Schell Sealcoating and Paving

Schell Sealcoating did a fabulous job on my driveway. I have hired them several times and have been extremely happy with their work. Jeff Schell, owner, and his employees are reliable, polite, punctual, pleasant, trustworthy and a pleasure to work with. Schell provided the lowest pricing and the highest quality work. I had used other seal coating companies in the past, but as soon as I started using Schell, I have stayed with them. Use Schell! You will be happy you did.

We have used Schell Sealcoating and Paving three times at home and once for our business. We will not hesitate to call them again the next time we need sealcoating done. The work was very well done and professional.

I have had the pleasure of working with this company for many years now. They have seal coated several asphalt parking lots and driveways for me and I have consistently been impressed with the quality of their work. Jeff is very personal and professional. This is the only company that I work with for asphalt sealing and repair work. I have also recommended this company to several family members and friends over the years. They have always provided an excellent experience throughout the entire process.

I called them. One week later they called me. They told they do the job. Then nobody came to do job. I called back twice nobody answered. Voicemail was full.

It went well but ended up raining a day later so much of the sealcoating ran off. They came out a few days later, no questions asked, and sealcoated the entire driveway again. Now it looks great.

Out of the hundreds of products and services I have bought and hired, I very rarely do a review. It took a while for the owner to respond when was an exact day he would be doing the driveway. Although he did say there was rain on some days so that is not a problem because it is legitimate. The reason I gave a bad review was because of the amount of seal coat material that was used to seal coat my driveway, and, of course, that affected the quality of his work. I know what it takes to seal coat a driveway and it is over 8 gallons of material, and I know this because I have seal coated my driveway several times. The owner's men did not use over 3 to 4 gallons of material (and that is a generous estimate). I was looking at his men from the second floor window of my house and I saw that his men took one empty 5 gallon container of seal coat material and then they filled it up about 10 inches from the top of the 5 gallon container. They then seal coated the driveway and his men poured at least one gallon of left over material back into the bigger container they haul the big load of material attached to their truck. If anyone has washed windows with a rubber squeegee you know that the squeegee will get all the water off the glass. In a way, that is what his men did. From when I did my driveway, if I pressed down **** ** the squeegee I know that most of the material will not be put on the driveway. So, I would not press as hard down on the squeegee and I would use the brush side of the seal coat spreader to insure an adequate and correct amount of material was used. His men absolutely did not do that. When it rained or even snows and my driveway gets wet. All of the spider-web cracks are visible. This is 110% confirmation that to little material was used on my driveway. If he had done a halfway decent job then the $100 price would have been decent. Since it was a terrible work the price was way to high.

The re-sealing was fine. Everything looked good. However, a few days later some cracks became noticeable again. Wasn't expecting that so soon...

Communication was great. When weather got in the way, rescheduling was prompt and appropriate. The cost was a little higher than I would have expected, but my driveway is fairly large. They were very careful with the brick walkway connected to the driveway, which I appreciated. The only issue I had was that, while the larger cracks were filled, they were not completely filled in as I would have expected. A few of them were only filled around half-way, where as I would have expected them to be filled and (near) leveled to the asphalt.

As expected. Very nice job. We had a new brick walkway adjacent to the driveway and they were very careful not to get tar on the brick.

Schell coated the driveway in 2015. To my surprise the surface was worn and cracked within 10 months. They repeated it in 2016 and again in 2107 it has not done well.

Owner was very responsive and gave an estimate quickly, work was done on time, looks great and at very reasonable price.

Very well, neat work, I paid additional amount for "Hot" sealing of cracks. Called Jeff re shrinking of crack-fill, a week ago, said he would take a look and let me know. As of today, have not heard from Jeff

Our driveway is a horseshoe driveway so it is a big driveway. It is asphalt. They were very professional and very courteous. We were trying to find a date that did not have rain in it. He was very accommodating. The price was excellent. The quality was very good. Their responsiveness was good. I think it was one of the best that we have had with that type of materials and working outside kind of thing. I would definitely use this provider again.

Don't bother. Rubbish responsiveness.

Spoke with Jeff on 5/3. He advised he would look at the driveway and provide an estimate within a week. Never heard from him again. It would have been no problem at all had he just said, "that job is too small," or "we are overbooked for the season." Very unprofessional.

Jeff provided a firm price based upon my measurements of the work area for our circular driveway. They showed up when scheduled and provided a very neat and professional seal coat. Since the driveway was new, a few areas required touch-up. They came back promptly to re-apply the seal coat with no additional cost. I only obtained one quotation, so I can not say if they would be lower or higher than others, but the quality work and customer service provided value to us. We would use them again.
