It went okay. They have great products, a beautiful showroom, and get product that needs to be ordered in a timely manner. What really puts me off is they are condescending to the cliente -- I really don't like going there because of the this attitude problem. This is the Highland Park location - I hear from word of mouth that the Barrington location is very nice and helpful. If I need similar products in the future, I will go elsewhere.

I have been in and out of Idlewood selecting fixtures and lighting as I've upgraded the lighting and done gradual work on my house. They gave me good discounts on the fixtures I've purchased and great service. The fixtures have been good quality with good quality metals. The people who helped me were knowledgeable and understood what good options would be for my taste and living situation, and made good suggestions that were reasonable, not trying to sell me more than I needed or wanted. I may have been able to get lower prices online, but I wouldn't really know what I was getting and I prefer to be able to work with someone and see the actual item. Sales person was a little put off that we were only looking for one fixture and not a $1000 unit after she got over that we found the perfect hanging light for over our island. They did have a wide selection and may catalogs to look through.

They are my first choice for anything electrical.

Specialty lighting. We purchased many fixtures that most had to be ordered. NEVER felt rushed or hurried with our many crazy questions, outstanding customer service which many companies need to learn.

The staff is very knowledgeable. They have a huge selection, a lot to browse through. We were able to special order a ceiling fan through them, which came promptly in the time allotted. On our second visit there, the salesperson helped us figure out some questions/concerns about recessed lighting. Large staff, busy place, take a number, but you don't have to wait to long to get help.
