Highly professional team of electricians! We've used them for a wide array of services from evaluating & upgrading our main electrical panel, upgrading in ceiling pot lights, relocating switches during mini room update to hanging new light fixtures. Always get it right!

It was a puzzle to figure out, but HP figured out the bizarre not standard 3 way wiring and replaced the light switch. I usually do this myself, but the tangle of unlabeled wires made me call a pro

They were excellent overall. We have used them 6-7 years, maybe more, after a while if you don't go comparison shopping it is hard to say on price. Their quality is great. I have had no problems with them. There were two visits, one to diagnose the problem and one to order the product. The price is for both visits and the thermostat. I would use them again.

We had some things shorting out and once they put it on their own breaker it stopped shorting out. They charge on an hourly basis. I would absolutely use them again. They are very well trained and very professional. They did a good job.

I wasn't at home, my daughter called them. It's a family owned company and they've been in business for I don't know how long, 60 or 70 years. I've come to rely on them thru the years. The workers are an A.

Went well. Two separate men were sent out, one for the inside work, another for the generator. Speaking with the Generator guy, he was happy to give out a few tips on maintaining the generator, how to reset it in some situations that would keep me from having them to come out and reset it...very helpful. Inside the wiring issue was resolved quickly. They were in and out in less than 90 minutes or so, did a nice job, very polite...everything you'd expect. I honestly am not sure how they could have done a better job. Would use them again. Not positive on the pricing, it's been awhile.

Chris at the office worked so hard to get somebody to my house. The owner, Jan, was incredibly helpful and did everything he could to fix my electrical issue. Chris called to check on the job afterwards. So grateful!

My furnace contractor suggested a surge protector in my home to protect not only computers but the furnace itself. Many furnaces have computer boards more delicate (and expensive) than computers. Highland Park Electric called right back and discussed what they would do and when. They showed up on time and quickly completed the installation, then showed me how to assure that it continues to protect. He was neat, efficient, and polite. Couldn't ask for a better job. I highly recommend them.

Both services were performed promptly and professionally. And, unlike other service providers I've used in the past, HP Electric promptly responded to emails (my preferred communication method, since I'm usually in meetings during business days). They performed yearly service on my generator (took some time to train me on how to use it and check error codes since this was the first service I had been through- I recently bought the home), fixed a outside switch/circuit that stopped working, and rewired an outlet that had been incorrectly installed in the past. I asked a few questions and got some advice from the electrician. I also had their boss come to provide an estimate. I haven't gotten it back yet, but the process went well, he was ontime, and also give a specific day when the estimate would be comlete. Everybody put on booties, to keep from tracking dirt through, so that was good to see, and respectful. As of now, I'll hire them for all my electrical work.

They were clean, quiet, and got the job done.

Problem was corrected by rewiring the GFI circuit to separate the refrigerator from this circuit. . Subsequently, the GFI switch did not turn off when the refrigerator recycled.

I used them because they assumed responsibility for completing work on a generator that another company started but never finished twelve years ago. This work had already been paid for, but they were happy to complete it as long as I used them annually for maintenance checks. When considering this and the other positive experiences that I had with the company, I chose to have them do the upgrade work. This most recent job of upgrading the generator was just as great. Everyone, from the owner to the technicians were very knowledgeable. Furthermore, the technicians arrived right on time, got right to work, and completed everything quickly. In addition, they did a quality job without leaving any messes which I appreciated. I was very happy with their services and would highly recommend them to anyone.

They came and replaced a fouled spark plug, changed the oil, and cleaned up the motor. All at no charge. They were prompt and thorough. I feel they are an excellent company and am surprised they do not want to be listed on Angie's list.

From the day that I was given an estimate for the "stand-by generator, to the completion of the install by the electrician, pipefitter and their assistant was a great experience. The job took the entire day and the workmanship was very professional. There was a lot of debris from the drilling through the concrete and wood, but when they completed the job, my basement was as clean as it was before they started their work.

I contacted GenX Generator, which is a subsidary of Highland Park Electric to inquire as to the installation of a whole house generator. I exchanged a series of emails regarding the installation and received a very competitve prelimary quote. I asked that they come to my house so I could get a formal, firm bid on the installation. I had a phone call with Jason to describe our house in more detail and some of the process we'd need to go through to get approval from the Village. (Our house is structurally a single-family home, but legally a condo and is part of a planned unit development which makes all permitting a little bit more of complicated.) During that conversation I explained that I already had permission from the Association and had a series of conversations with the Village, including the planning department regarding this project. The Village just approved the AC installation which was shown on the same drawings and all communications with the Village indicated that a generator permit request would be coming. While I explained that I think the approval will happen, it might take some time and so to be prudent, I would not order the generator or sign a contract for the installation until the permit had been approved. I indicated a willingness to pay any permit fees regardless of the outcome of the Village's approval. After being given this information, Jason indicated he would need to speak with the owner regarding this issue. We did, however, agree to an appointment for the formal quote and bid meeting on-site at my home. A little while later I received a voicemail indicating that after speaking with the owner of the company, they have declined the opportunity to come bid on the project. They felt that the Village would not approve the project so they were not going to spend time bidding on it. This is despite the fact that other Unit Owners in our Association have received permits and that the planning department gave a preliminary indication that they would likely approve the request. They did have the gall to suggest that if we were successful getting the generator installed by someone else that they would still be happy to service it going forward. Needless to say, we will not be employing them for any service.

I searched for Highland Park on Angie's List, but they didn't come up for some reason. It was an excellent experience. A's all the way across. They have done other work for me through the years, just household electrical repairs and modifications. They are always on time, in fact, many times they are early. They will call to see if they can come before the window they specified. The people are professional, very courteous and the price is good.

Out of all the electrical companies I contacted on Angie's List, they were the only ones who were able to come the next day. The electrician that they sent out was very honest and punctual. I highly recommend Highland park electric and Janus.

They came out to install this within a week or two around all the bad weather. They took only one day to install and finished on time. I enjoyed speaking with the owner the most since he was so honest and didn't try and up sell us stuff we didn't want, like for example maintenance packages and such. The only issue I have is that they didn't tell me I could pick when the generator tests itself. It would have been nice if they had offered that option.

Excellent. Friendly and on-time (even called to ask if they could come earlier than promised). Work was done well.
