We had Avanti replace all of the kitchen cabinets and countertops, as well as those in our powder room and butler pantry. The cabinets are top quality and look great. The quartz countertops are fantastic. Their service and responsiveness are the best in the business. They want a happy and satisfied customer. Timing for the project was three months total, but only took three and one-half weeks once demolition started to fully completed. Amazing efficiency.

Avanti Kitchen Gallery is great! From the moment I walked into their showroom I knew they were problem solvers. They have a wide selection, excellent prices and great service. I am picky about details. They consistently addressed my concerns and solved my problems. They always exceeded my expectations. Igor M. educated me about their products. Igor S. perfected our design down to the fraction of an inch. Vicky patiently listened to me and got the job done. I highly recommend Avanti. Rob

Vicky with Avanti was exceptionally good in listening to us and helping us select the furniture we wanted. We love our new bathrooms. It turned out to be better than we anticipated - both beautiful and high quality. When our installers needed help, Avanti staff was timely in providing the support we needed. Overall it was a great experience and we plan to work with Avanti soon on our kitchen remodel.

I dropped in to their showroom after work, so I understood that the salespeople were dealing with other customers. When a salesperson broke away to "help" me, she asked me where I lived. I was told that the material I was looking at was "way too high end" for my job. The only reason the rest of the grades weren't F was that the salesperson explained that my job was too small for their company and she did refer me to someone who could help me.

My wife and I spent several months going from cabinet store and kitchen showroom to another before proceeding with the project. We eventually decided upon Avanti Kitchen Gallery in Highland Park. Beyond to help us with our Kitchen and to use one of their recommended installers, When we first came in, we were greeted by Igor, who is very friendly, helpful, and low-pressure as we explained to him we were just starting out with the project. When we eventually returned to do the design and place an order not only did Igor remember us, but he introduced us to Gene and offered his unique expertise. The prices are reasonable, and more importantly, the quality and service are beyond reproach. We were frequently updated with the delivery date and the contractor was the best we have ever used, would highly recommend! All-in-all, a fantastic experience, Avanti is a wonderful family business that I would recommend to anyone thinking of doing a remodel, you couldn't work with nicer, more honest people.

Avanti's showroom--which used to be next to ABT--was lovely, understated (no $100k kitchens on display)--had the kind of modular cabinets we wanted (like Ikea, but higher quality). The staff, especially Vicki, were laid back, knowledgable and were NOT in any way pushy. What I like in particular was that Vicki and I put pen to paper--I was not pressured or threatened with a design fee. Also, I didn't get a sense that Avanti staff was threatened that I was taking advantage of their knowledge or "stealing" their ideas. In every other showroom I've visited, I have felt pressured to engage in a formal, fee-based design process even to have a long conversation with staff. Whether a design fee is waived upon purchase of cabinets or a separate project (I'm a graphic designer, so I understand the threshold between "spitballing" and developing a unique concept. Reasonable customers want to get a feel for the showroom, understand who does the installations, talk about "potholes" in the project, etc. I will say that I have been in galleries where customers are really pushy and try to take advantage of the vendor...we should all take a step back. Through NO fault of Avanti, I haven't yet gone forward with the project. Vicki has followed up, but gently, professionally, first by phone and then, when I explained my situation, she changed to a VERY occasional email. Vicki also offered to come out and see the current kitchen--no commitment, no fee (though I cannot certify that this was usual policy or just Vicki's particular warmth and kindness). Of course, I'd love to talk design forever! But it was my choice not to use her valuable time right now. I will definitely visit Vicki in their new location in Highland Park and of all the galleries and designers we've talked to, I am confident that Avanti would be one of only two choices. I really do hope I can go ahead with the project, and encourage people who have felt strong-armed at other galleries try Avanti.
Description of Work: I went to Avanti Gallery, which used to be near ABT, to get a general idea about options in kitchen cabinets, design ideas, recommendations on appliances. It was an initial visit; I believe I returned onw other time. Due to a change in my circumstances, I did not go forward with the project. This in NO way reflects on Avanti.

My girlfriend and I had been wanting to re-do our kitchen for about a year - after being dragged from place to place I was beyond sick and tired of looking at cabinets and having pushy sales people convincing me that THEY WERE THE BEST! We had lunch at Jolane's one day and decided to stop by Avanti Gallery - just to look. I expected sales people to ambush us and start spewing the same spiel - this place was different. Once we stopped at a display called "Melissa" we both knew that it was exactly what we were looking for. Igor, our designer, offered to come out and measure our kitchen the next day and get us a quote. 2 days later we were back at Avanti looking at his design and were shocked that he just understood and gave us exactly what we wanted - and most importantly kept it within our budget. I have to mention that Igor is a saint to have put up with my girlfriend's indecisiveness in choosing handles - there were so many options and she HAD to consider every single one of them! I wanted nothing to do with this - so I am really grateful he was there to help. Our cabinets were delivered on time - just as we agreed on and installation started the next day. It only took the install crew 1 day to do the whole kitchen- very impressive. We're so glad we decided to go with Avanti and we're loving our new cabinets! I'm recommending these guys to everyone! Awesome job!
Description of Work: Choosing Avanti Gallery to help with my kitchen remodel was the smartest choice I could have made. The staff, Igor is particular, were incredibly helpful with every detail of my remodel. They measured my kitchen, designed with functionality in mind, and the communication was excellent - they followed up and were ready to help at every step. Our cabinets arrived on time and the installation only took a day! We're loving the new kitchen!

My daughter and I were having lunch at the restaurant next to Avanti Gallery and we decided to stop by to see what kind of cabinets they sell. Their Italian cabinets are absolutely gorgeous and I fell in love! We thought they looked too expensive, but Igor and Vicky assured us that based on our dimensions, it could be within our budget. I was skeptical, but scheduled a measure anyway just to see what they could do. When we came back for our second appointment, the price was a bit high, but I absolutely loved the design that Igor came up with and he was so patient to work with my indecisiveness. We worked through the design and decided to change a couple of things so that the entire project was within my budget. It was also nice not to have to compromise the design for my budget. I gave them my 50% deposit and it was so nice to get e-mails with "tracking" information of my kitchen from the staff. Once our kitchen arrived, within 3 days we booked our installation date and the guys that came out installed everything in 2 days! I couldn't believe it! Our kitchen is gorgeous and I am so glad that I didn't end up choosing the other company I was considering. Remodeling projects are such a pain sometimes, the staff did a wonderful job of following up with me and making sure everything I needed to get done did - in a timely manner. I have already recommended Avanti Gallery to my brother-in-law and he is going with them too. Anyone looking for excellent quality cabinets and design services - this is the place!
Description of Work: My daughter and I ordered cabinets for my new house from Avanti Gallery a few months ago. We had 3 appointments with Igor and on the third were so impressed by their design and the quality of cabinets that we decided to go with them. Everyone at Avanti Gallery were so knowledgeable and helpful that we decided it was the best route to go with them for design, cabinets and installation. It was a pleasure to have a one stop shop for everything - they even helped us with appliances and our counter top.

My husband got the idea in his head that we just had to get an entertainment center. After shopping around for a new TV, we were referred to Avanti Gallery. Their showroom has the most gorgeous kitchen displays! We spoke with a guy named Gene about what we wanted; dark wood, glass shelves, etc. On the spot, he drew up a design, which we loved, and gave us a price. We couldn’t believe it was that simple. Although the price was a bit high for us, the owner of Avanti joined our meeting and helped us get to a number we were comfortable paying. My husband was thrilled to take the Friday off our cabinetry delivery off from work, that’s how excited he was to furnish his “man cave”. Avanti’s installer Mike was at our house the next day to put everything together. Big thanks to the entire Avanti team. We love the entertainment unit. Next, we will be working on our kitchen and will definitely be using Avanti Gallery again.

We are extremely pleased with the experience we had with Avanti Gallery and we would recommend it to anybody. They were professional, pleasant and always kept their word. Everybody who comes over to our house compliments us on how amazing our kitchen is and it's all thanks to Avanti!
Description of Work: My husband and I heard from our friends about Avanti Gallery and the beautiful work they did with their kitchen. When we were remodeling our house, we decided to go to Avanti Gallery and see if we can find the kitchen of our dreams. We were pleasantly surprised not only by the level of service but also by the variety of products Avanti Gallery had on display and in catalogs. It felt like the sky was the limit when it came to designs or ideas. Vicky, who greeted us originally, was wonderful in showing us different options, designs and helping us with ideas on designing our brand new kitchen. Of course we were worried about our budget and trying to stay within it, but Avanti Gallery gave us a great deal without giving up any of the quality of Italian cabinetry. Throughout the project, Vicky kept in touch with us and gave us updates on the delivery dates, and installation dates for our kitchen. When the time came to install the kitchen, Avanti Gallery recommended a great installer who they work with. The installation company was great; they were on time, made sure all of the kitchen pieces delivered were there and not damaged and when they installed everything in one day, we were just amazed beyond belief. Our kitchen looks beautiful and all of our friends always comment on how gorgeous and original it is.

Our experience as a whole with Avanti Gallery was incredible. My kitchen is my haven. I love it so much that I could not imagine having anything better.
Description of Work: My husband and I were at ABT looking for appliances for our kitchen. The sales person helping us recommended we stop by Avanti Gallery to get some cabinetry ideas. We had some extra time, so we headed over to the other end of the Plaza. We were greeted by Vicky and she showed us around all of their displays. Everything was so gorgeous; I would have loved any of the displays in my house! Then my husband and I looked at each other with the same thought: How much is this going to cost us? Vicky gave us a rough estimate on the spot. We could not believe that that was it for hand crafted Italian cabinetry. We must have looked like two kids in a candy store we were so excited. Within the next couple of weeks we met with Avanti architects who came and measured our kitchen free of charge. When we came back, we met with a designer who had a beautiful layout for us; we put down a deposit right away. The employees at Avanti went over every little thing with us. From door styles and sheens to spice racks, cutlery dividers, soft close mechanisms, you name it. It was pure fun planning exactly what I wanted in MY kitchen. Vicky even emailed me pictures of her cabinets at home so I could get a better visual. We received so much attention from the employees at Avanti it felt like we were their only customers, aside from the others doing the very same thing in their showroom. Once all planning was done and our order had been sent to Italy, my husband and I checked our emails for updates. We were sent updates when our kitchen left Italy, arrived in New York, went through customs, arrived in Illinois and would be delivered to us. We wanted everything to transition as smooth as possible so we decided to use Avanti’s cabinetry installer, Alex, and we’re so glad we did. When the packages were being brought in our house we were stunned. There were so many of them we thought they accidentally dropped off two kitchens. Alex was a seasoned pro though and reassured us they hadn’t. He double checked every package to make sure it was ours and that nothing was damaged. The installation took one day and afterwards we got a phone call from Avanti’s owner asking “how much do you love your new kitchen”. So much! It was a pleasure doing business with such knowledgeable and helpful people. We have decided to redo our bathrooms now, and will definitely using Avanti Gallery on this project as well.

Gene really impressed me that he cares about his business, his reputation and his customers. My advice is to understand how you will use the space first. Don't get sidetracked with wants versus needs. I initially wanted custom burl oak cabinet inserts. The cost was almost double the price of my cabinets. After much deliberation I decided it was a want versus a need. The other hurdle was the joining of the cabinets. I preferred an 45 deg angle. Needless to say it was more expensive than a 90 degree join. All in all, I am satisfied with how my kitchen will look even though it is not what I imagined the first day I walked in to the store. That is not to say I compromised too much but that Gene patiently worked with me to get a great layout and beautiful cabinetry at a price point I can afford.
Description of Work: I really love the design work performed at Avanti! I fell in love with a teak display however it was out of my price range. Gene worked with me to work up the cost of quarter-sewn oak cabinetry (not inexpensive either) which blended well with my vintage apartment details. It took several attempts to get the layout right however Gene and his staff were very supportive. The best part of my design in the bookcase that hides the refrigerator and microwave. It is an ingenious way to hide utilitarian appliances.

Overall we had very good experience. Delivery from Italy was a little more expensive then we expected, but on another hand our kitchen came packed like a Swith watch. NOt even a scratch.
Description of Work: would like to say, "Thank you," to the Avanti Gallery team again. (this our second project with them) We recently purchase house in Florida . After two months of living here, we realized that we were not happy with the way the house was designed - we were missing the coziness and comfortability of our old kitchen in Chicago, which was designed and installed by Avanti Gallery about 5 years ago. We needed a full out kitchen overhaul. Afterall, we spend most of our time in the kitchen. We realized that it would be easier for us to hire someone in Florida, but after tiredness time of shopping around we called Avanti again. Luckily they have installers in Miami area, who helped us a lot. Our installer, Sam, did a great job measuring. He also did preliminary architectural drawings - so Gene, owner ofAvanti Gallery come up with great ideas of redesigning completely the space, since he already knows our taste, our way of life (We spend a lot of time designing our old kitchen ). Everything came out perfectly, Comfortable for our family, SLEEK, STYLISH and the envy of all our friends.

Only cons: -the work took about a week longer than they promised: I had to wait a few days for the granite to be cut after the work had already started and my kitchen was out of commission . But at the end of the day, I was a happy customer. Will use them again .
Description of Work: I got my kitchen renovated early 2009, but i recently signed up with Angie to find specific doctor, and decided to post something here since they don't have many reviews. I am still really pleased with my kitchen. I think the price was very reasonable (10-15K range for granite countertops, new sink & new cabinets) which I think it awesome, given how nice it turned out. They also cater to a much more expensive price range if that's what you want. I was mainly dealing with Igor..he's a friendly guy. I actually had a minor issue with the sink a few months later, and he came to check it out and fix it).

During the design process they were extremely creative and somehow managed tho find the right product for the both me and my husband.!!!!!!!! No-one could accomplish that in several places we've been before. Their prices are very competitive and the service is outstanding. Knowing , that cabinetry comes from Italy - we expected long lead time, but cabinetry came in 8 ( may be 9 ) weeks. During that time - we 've been inform about everything ( Love It!!!) When order was processed, when order was out of production, when order has been shipped and when it's arrived to NY - we felt special. Installers worked during weekend - so, not me nor my husband should take any extra days off work. We're very happy that our friend referred us to Avanti - our house turned our great.!!!!
Description of Work: The most gorgeous Italian cabinetry ever!! We have just completed remodeling of our house in time for the Holidays. Can not say enough good words about the people at Avanti Who designed and managed the whole project. They are consummate professionals and fun to be around. thank you guys

All and all a very good experience with Avanti Gallery. Very knowledgeable and helpful in selecting the cabinets and the design work they provided was excellent. Designer showed a good deal of creativity and offered us design options we would not have thought of on our own. One design glitch was missed by Ananti, my contractor and myself ( we all accept the blame). A short soffit we planned on removing had structural support in it and had to be left in place. The only issue that resulted was that we had to substitute a slightly smaller cabinet at the end cap and slightly smaller storage over the refrigerator. It looks great, maybe even better! This soffit issue cost us a few extra weeks as we waited for the new cabinets to arrive, but there was no additional charges. All the cabinets arrived as scheduled and in perfect condition. The quality and look of our cabinets are sensational. Could not be happier.

Thank you for your report. We are happy to see that even though there was a glitch in the project due to the soffit, that you understood construction issues come up unexpectedly sometimes and you are still happy with our services. As you mentioned, we re-ordered new upper cabinets to fit under the new circumstances at no charge to you. We want all our current and potential customers to know that everything we sell is under warranty, and in most cases we will fix or replace any issues, damages, or mistakes that may come up. We are committed to uphold the highest level of service for our clients to meet their expectations. We also thank you for your honesty in reporting that you would have liked to have been contacted more often regarding the delivery of your cabinetry. In June 2010, l custom-ordered kitchen cabinets and bookshelves from Avanti Gallery based on the quality of their showroom displays. The kitchen cabinets arrived in September 2010 with several items either missing or damaged. The bookshelves arrived later in October 2010, and when unwrapped, proved to be of an amazingly inferior quality. Despite Avanti's initial promises - both written and oral - to "repair and replace" - to this day - Avanti has refused to resolve this problem! First they stalled, then they lied, and now, they simply ignore the matter! Avanti received $17,500 (from me) on an approximately $20,000 contract. They delivered approximately $12,000 of viable goods and services. I have subsequently been forced to incur several thousand dollars in additional expenses to repair, rebuild and replace aforemetioned items due to Avanti Gallery's intransigence. This matter is now going to court (more $ costs!) and being referred to the State Attorney General's office for investigation. ****UPDATE**** Let me begin by saying that money was NEVER an issue in this complaint. In fact, Avanti received the bulk of their money ($17,500) before they even finished, delivered, installed and inspected the cabinetry. That is simply why they walked away from their contractual obligation. There has never been any communication whatever (i.e. phone calls, correspondence) regarding or requesting money. The issue has always been about receiving and replacing the products l ordered. Secondly, l have no clue as to where Yvonne gets the dates and the quotes she attributes to me. If she cares about her integrity, l suggest she first read the various documents and communications in this case before she wildly throws around accusations!Let me answer paragraph by paragraph:Para 2) Avanti was never asked to do measurements for a master bath and never produced such plans!Para 3) There was never any inspection after the cabinets were installed because the work was never finished! The installer, after opening up the cartons (kitchen cabinets) and counting the parts, realized that parts were missing and/or damaged! Avanti was immediately notified and l was informed that an email was sent ASAP to the manufacturer and l should have the parts within a week! Yvonne claims the parts arrived on 18 October. Sorry, Yvonne! Avanti's owner sent me an email on that same date (18 October 2010, 5:03 PM) stating that the order had been placed and that she would contact me within a week. Needless to say, there was no further communication regarding the arrival of the missing parts! Again - Yvonne should check her company's emails and phone logs if she has any doubts! Para 4,5: The bookshelves were unwrapped 10 days after they arrived(12 Oct 2010) because the installer was worried they would be damaged during the installation of kitchen cabinets! Once unwrapped, l realized these were not the shelves l had ordered or the quality l had paid for. These were not of "painted Maple wood" as Yvonne states. Rather, they were entirely of thin plywood with nails and staples visible. The bookshelves l ordered were based on the quality of the floor models displayed in Avanti's showroom. The price l paid was consistent for high quality custom work. That is not what l received. When the manufacturer of the book shelves, John Greer, stopped by, he informed me that these were his "low-end" product - and - definitely not consistent with the fee l was charged. Avanti was immediately asked to kindly remove the shelves from my home. Avanti ignored me from then on!Para7: The cheque Avanti received from me on 2 October 2010 for $10,000, was given 1) before the bookshelves had been inspected and 2) before themissing and/or defective parts of the kitchen cabinets had been replaced - and 3) before any of the installations had been completed. Para 8: The cabinetry was not "designed" or "produced" to my "wishes" or as l "contracted". The dimensions of both the Kitchen cabinets and the bookshelves were incorrect. If Yvonne has doubts, she may come and measure for herself what Avanti's "contracted" plans show - and - what the actual finished product is. l also never complained about the the "quality" of the kitchen cabinets. l only wanted the missing and damaged parts replaced. Yvonne's claim that Avanti tried to rectify the situation is a blatant fabrication. l would ask her to produce her company's phone logs and/or emails to substantiate her claim. l can produce mine! After Avanti repeatedly ignored my phone calls and emails, l had no choice but to hire other contractors to finish the jobs and incur thousands of dollars in additional fees. l had to build new bookshelves and rebuild the missing cabinet in the kitchen. l was never able to replace the damaged pieces in the kitchen because Avanti refused to provide me with a warranty or divulge the manufacturer's name. (Needless to say, l also had to pay, once more, for the new installation.)
Description of Work: Avanti Gallery is a custom-cabinet business with a lovely showroom. Unfortunately, they do not deliver the products they display. They are also extremely unprofessional and have no qualms about taking a client's money and then blatantly ignoring their obligations.

Response from Avanti Kitchen Gallery Inc
Member, we are sorry that you have decided to resort to statements that are untrue and deceiving in order to try to get what you want. We have done everything in our power to help complete and resolve the issues you had with our company. You chose not to accept any of them. Rather you chose to go a more unethical approach, which was to trade removal of your negative reviews for money. We would like our Angie's List visitors to know that we do not respond to bribery. We would like to shed some light on what really happened. [Member] signed a contract with us on June 26, 2010. The cabinetry then arrived on time and according the contract. Installation started at the same time. The customer liked her cabinetry so much, that she asked us to come back to her house to do measurements and give her an estimate for the master bath, which was scheduled on October 6, 2010. It is customary for our company to inspect all cabinetry after installation and we discovered that a couple of doors had to be replaced (small scratches), and one cabinet needed to be re-ordered. All service parts were ordered and arrived to Chicago from Italy 10 days later (October 18, 2010) and we still have them to this day. The customer has been contacted by phone several times, but she does not want us to finish the job, stating that everything had been fixed and completed by her contractor. The first complaint came on October 14, 2010, stating that the cabinetry which she received was not up to the quality, design or the size that she expected. Back in June 2010 she gave us some drawings done by another company for price purposes and now she was claiming that she wanted exactly to the millimeter the same dimensions. She suddenly started complaining that "You [Avanti] did not duplicate the original plans, not the bookshelves, not the kitchen." My question to her was why should we duplicate the original drawings by another company? If [Member] liked the design and pricing from another company, why did she decide to sign a contract with us? I would like to believe it was probably because our product was better, our design was better, our ideas were better. And why did she sign a contract with us if she did not like our design, quality, our ideas and our services? All the cabinetry came in according to the drawings she agreed and confirmed with her signature. [Member] claims that our product is not of ANY quality, comparing it to Ikea. Please understand she has received bookshelves, made as framed cabinetry in painted Maple wood with plywood boxes which is considered to be high-end cabinetry, according to any standards; definitely not low end. And on the morning of October 15, our manufacturer's representative went to her home and evaluated the quality of the product she received. He came back with an email stating that there was nothing wrong with the manufacturing of the cabinetry and that the small pin marks behind the face frame is standard by the industry standards. As of right now, the customer is looking for any excuse not to pay for this cabinetry and is also asking for her money back, while enjoying the beauty and comfort of the cabinetry and design supplied by our company. The contract, which was signed by the customer, clearly said that final payment has to be paid on delivery of the cabinetry, but with trusting intentions allowed the customer to pay after inspection of the cabinetry on October 2, 2010. The check came back $3,873.74 short, which is a breach of the contract. In addition [Member] sent us a Government Tax Exemption number, which could not verified on the IRS web site. The cabinetry has been designed, contracted, produced and installed specifically to the customer's wishes and she agreed to those terms signed by her in her contract. [Member] is coming up with unreasonable and unfounded accusations not to pay the balance of her contract. However if one party is in breach of the contract, the other party is not obligated to perform services and this is exactly what we have done. We did everything in our power to correct all the problems that occurred with her order. Unfortunately, she is the person who would not let us complete the job. We have always been willing and able to stand behind our product and our services and never had any complaints during our 19 years in business. To resolve this complaint – we will be happy to finish the job if [Member] wants us to and if and only if she is ready to fulfill her part of the contract. Thank you for your time.
