Wonderfully, please see comments above. The price posted was for all services provided. Linda charges an hourly rate for her services as do the other altogether Organized consultants.
Description of Work: Linda and Altogether Organized have changed our lives and created harmony and order in our household. We first met Linda over a year ago when she came to begin organizing a closet and jewelry in our master bedroom. We were so happy with how well she organized our room/closets, how efficiently she worked, and how personable she was. Since then we have hired Linda back to cover many areas of our home-storage closets, basement, kitchen, garage and childrens rooms. Now we have no hesitation about opening drawers or closets, and our family can feel at ease knowing that everything has a place. Linda will take the time to listen to your wishes and no mater how daunting the task of getting organized may feel to you, know that Altogether Organized makes the process easy and stress free. After the end of a single visit, immediate progress is made. They will ask how you wish to use your space, provide bins and labeling and will assign you tasks while they take charge of getting the work done. I am excited to tackle our storage shed next!

“You can’t have everything. Where would you put it?” Steven Wright A simple thought, but hard for many people to live by. For a long time, I tried to have everything, which meant my condo unit was cluttered beyond usefulness, I couldn’t have friends over, and I’d go to Amazon to buy copies of books I knew I already had but were just too difficult to find. Linda did wonders in helping me organize my living space, office, and paper flow. She is very focused and efficient, making sure I stay on message when we’re working together and not lose sight of the major goal -- an uncluttered, more satisfying life. She is very good at setting realistic goals and following-up on them. I can highly recommend Altogether Organized to anyone needing help dealing with clutter and getting rid of accumulated unnecessary “stuff”. It is amazing what a difference getting this under control can make.
Description of Work: Linda came over and helped me go through decades of accumulated books, magazines, newspapers, and files. She arranged for 100 cartons of books to be donated to and picked up by the Newberry Library for their book sale (resulting in a nice tax deduction). She set up an organized system for dealing with incoming periodicals, and followed-up to make sure it was working well.

Linda made a daunting, difficult, and emotionally challenging task seem very much the opposite - almost fun, in fact! She is so upbeat, encouraging, and also understanding and sympathetic. I was overjoyed with how easy she made this process for us. I think what struck me the most was how Linda was able to help us keep a quick pace so we were able to maximize our time. However, at the same time, she was patient and let us take the time we needed to go through especially the more difficult things. Linda has the right balance you'd want in an organizer - someone who can give you an honest opinion of what things you really do not need to keep, yet she was respectful with what we did want to hold on to. Also very importantly, not a thing was thrown away or donated unless we had seen it and agreed that was what to happen. Linda's positivity and energy made this task so much easier for us. Her two associates were excellent as well. I would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone facing a clutter problem big or small.
Description of Work: Linda and her two associates helped us start the process of going through my parents' house. The house has been lived in for over 40 years and was quite full. We did not even know where to begin. Linda was able, first of all, to help us decide where to start and the best strategy for doing as much as we could in a short period of time. We spent 6 days going through the basement, 4 closets, and a bedroom. We filled an entire dumpster and donated 4 garage-fulls of items to charity. Linda arranged for a charity truck to come to the house the last day to take away the rest. She also helped organize the items we decided to keep. At the end of each day we spent time cleaning up so there was never a mess, despite our going through things.

LInda is so positive. She is encouraging and clear. She is patient and a great teacher. By creating places where each thing went she set me up for the future. She was able to outline what the next steps were. I feel ready to continue on my own. I have used her at another time to help me get jumpstarted on organizing something I feel overwhelmed by. I recommend her very very highly!!
Description of Work: LInda came and looked at the chaos in my office and basement. We made a decision about where to focus our attention first. With her help we made an incredible impact on the disorder in my office. She moved with me through each pile of junk and papers, and in the end we were able to create a structure that helped everything by working thoroughly through what was there. I cannot say enough about how great she is.

From my first conversation with Linda, to our last 4 hour session, I was charmed and encouraged. And in the approximately 6 hours we worked together, we accomplished more than I could have in 6 months! Lisa and Linda are both very knowledgeable and helpful with the concept of "working order." I learned things that I still apply myself. They were also more than willing to get down and dirty. The previous owners of my home had left many utility-room items and cleaning products behind, most of which I did not want. Linda helped me empty these huge shelves, move them and restock them with more logical items for me. Meanwhile Lisa was upstairs contemplating, planning and strategizing for every item in my kitchen, the outcome of which has turned a small space into an incredibly well functioning one--and still organized. With Altogether Organized, Linda has created an amazing team of generous, thoughtful, team-oriented, and informative people who helped me feel at home in my own house.
Description of Work: Altogether Organized helped me move into my new house. They came twice--once before we moved in to go through the contents of a storage unit, and once after we had moved in to organize my laundry room, storage room and kitchen. The first time just Lisa came. She directed us easily to conquering a mountain of boxes with random contents--not a job I was prepared to do alone; and the second time both Lisa and Linda came to help me unpack and set up the most important rooms (I learned from them): the kitchen and the laundry room.

They were very prompt and helpful. I think Linda and Dede spent about 4 solid days in my home. My boyfriend had moved in and all of his belongings went to the basement. It is a 900 Sq Ft basement and previous to them coming out you could barely walk through the basement. They picked a corner and we started organizing. It was well worth the money to get the jump start and help from them. They were amazing. They were totally focused, they helped me get rid of things and organize things I wanted to keep into labeled boxes. They were very professional and I would recommend them in a heart beat. We have since hosted parties in the basement; I had never been able to use the basement before!

The phone was answered immediately when I called to explain what I was looking for. Since I started working from home 9 months ago for the first time, my office system was not working for me and I had work items all over. An appointment was made on the spot and within a week of my original call. On of the employees, DeeDee, came out and together we hit the ground running. After almost 3 hours I felt like I was ready to work with peace of mind as there was a place for all the papers that I needed to have on hand. DeeDee also gave me suggestions of items to buy for the office and what to do with them. The price I paid was very worth it to me for how quickly the office came together. The owner called to follow up after the work was completed to make sure I was happy. Since working in the office for a week since DeeDee was here, I already feel as though I know where to go for my items. Great experience.

My whole life has changed as a result of Linda's talents—she has helped me to clarify my goals and identify my priorities. Everything from cleaning the house to paying the bills is less stressful and takes half the time it used to. I have much more time to do the things I enjoy. She is very supportive, never critical, and starts each project by first identifying what I was doing right. My house has become a home— I feel better about myself and am no longer embarrassed when friends drop by. This was the best investment I've ever made.
Description of Work: Altogether Organized is amazing! Linda partners with you to create the most efficient and effective solutions imaginable. She listens, empathizes and creates a system that is shaped by your personality and grounded in your lifestyle. Because her solutions are based on your individual needs, they are incredibly easy to maintain. We cleaned out and organized 2 bedrooms, master closet, 2 bathrooms, kitchen and pantry, office, attic and linen closet. We hadn't sorted our belongings since we moved to our new house 3 years ago. Linda helped me to decide what to keep/toos/donate and she organized everything in a way that is logical, efficient, and nice to look at. We're asking her back to tackle the entire basement this spring.

Our experience with Altogether Organized went really well. We first talked on the phone to discuss our organizational priorities and set up an initial appointment. There was a 3 hour minimum visit. From the time I talked with them on the phone to the time they came out, I had changed my mind about our priorities, but they were extremely flexible and got right to work on what I wanted done. We worked with Dee Dee who was friendly, but very focused on using our time and money wisely. She was very efficient and to the point and provided a good mix of suggestions for things we could do ourselves and hands-on organizing. She also had great suggestions for systems for organizing and organizing tools we could purchase that have worked out well. We felt she was a great catalyst for organizational activity in our household, as we tried to implement the suggestions she had in-between the appointments we had with her (We met 3 times). We definitely felt we got our money's worth and would go back to them again should additional organizational needs arise.

I worked with Linda primarily and she was just a joy to work with. She made it a lot of fun and she is really good at her job too. I think it was worth every penny.

I just happened to notice the Home Organization category when I was looking for something else on Angie's List. I decided to call Altogether Organized to see if they could help me with my clutter. After meeting Linda, I decided to see what could happen. We worked together, sometimes twice a week during the summers, going through one room at a time. Sometimes I worked with her other teams members, who were also very good. All of them had the ability to find the balance between encouraging me to give up what was unnecessary versus being respectful of my need to keep things that had meaning for me. It was kind of like the show "Clean Sweep," but without the therapy (or the yard sale). Each day we worked I was amazed at the noticeable progress! Even more, I was surprised, over time, at what a difference it makes to live in a space where things are right where you need them, and easy to put away. I found, too, that I was able to use the skills I learned to get organized at work, too! Getting the house in order has made an unbelievable difference in my life. And it's so nice not to have to be afraid that someone will come to the front door and see clutter inside. We're finally able to have friends over!
Description of Work: Linda and her associates have, over of a couple of summers, helped me to organize my bedroom (featured on her website), my sons' bedrooms, my kitchen, my bathroom, my living and dining room, and my basement all of which had an appalling level of clutter and chaos. The process was fast, easy and actually fun. We started in the back of a room above the garage and worked our way forward. I had boxes I hadn't touched since we moved in 8 years ago. After all that time I just couldn't think of tackiling this job alone. Altogether made it so easy and efficient. I never thought I would see the tops of our desks again. Miraculously everything now has a home and is easy to locate.
Description of Work: The helped me get my home back in order. I have a room above the garage that became the dumping ground for everything we didn't want to look at or deal with...it was supposed to be the family office!! Anyway between the 2 of us and a lot of support and skill from Altogether Organized I was able to let go of a lot, donate plenty, and shred almost 200 #'s of paper. It is amazing what we kept that was unnecessary and just cluttering my home. The same for clothes and toys.

My house has always looked decent to guests, as long as they didn't open a drawer, cabinet, or closet. Items used to be crammed in every available space with no rhyme or reason. I was paralyzed by the fear that someone would "find out" how messy I was. Linda is prompt, professional, & personable. She wants to develop a system that is practical & works for YOU. There is no shame or judgment - only positive support. Linda is knowledgeable about what paperwork should be retained, & she makes recommendations about disposal/donation options. Now when I open a drawer, cabinet, or closet, I know that the space contains only my favorite, most useful items. This system has helped me to inventory things, so that I no longer buy items because I can't find them in my home, or because I don't remember if I have them. I save so much time by not having to search the house for lost/buried items. I truly have a peace about my home environment, & I now take pride in my home's appearance.
Description of Work: Multiple home organization projects: *GUEST BEDROOM/OFFICE - established a fabulous filing system that was extremely helpful at tax time (I had neglected paperwork for many years); set up drawers for shipping supplies, computer stuff, electronics, etc.; helped me to conquer one of many closets out of control; made recommendations for task management for an extensive to-do list. *MASTER BEDROOM - updated the bathroom vanity (everything is now stored by category and labeled); transformed my two MB closets - the walk-in was previously unusable - with a waist deep pile of stuff); & helped me to sort and inventory all clothing. *LIVING ROOM/DINING ROOM - sorted & alphabetized entertainment center tapes/DVDs, and CDs; organized table linens, candles, vases, & serving pieces. *KITCHEN - worked on each drawer, cabinet, and the pantry; helped to reduce duplication and relocate seldom used pieces. All storage containers were clearly labeled by Linda, & she makes lists of donation items.

Kim was able to listen and understand the basic structure necessary for my office, and extend and complement the outline I had for a filing system. She also had great suggestions for areas I didn't know or wasn't sure what to do. Kim was easy to get along with, a great worker, and brought a sense of humor everyday. When there was downtime while I was going through a pile, she re-organized part of a storage room. I've had her back to work with my assistant on cleaning up the years worth of mess he inherited. In 4 hours they made great progress, and have a few more to go. I highly recommend Altogether Organized.
Description of Work: Linda came to my office once, and Kim came to my office 4 times. She helped me to completely reorganize all of my books, professional materials, plants, and artwork. We built a filing system from scratch, and filed 2 years worth of paperwork. She helped me clear out a tremendous amount of stuff, so my office is airy and open. Several people have commented on how nice it is, and now people come in and sit down and talk with me. We have room to work.

Linda was great on the phone, she made sure we booked enough time so that the project could get finished. I was actually out when they arrived at my house, but they followed the directions I left on the front door. When I got home they was already at work. I really liked the fact that both women were mothers and actually understood what most of the toys were that they were organizing. They were friendly but kept to the business at hand and got the job done without too much input from me, Dee Dee and Lisa were able to think logically about the project and only asked questions when necessary. They were helpful in deciding which toys should go into the basement downstairs. They made use of our existing storage bins, but had stuff from the container store on hand when we needed it. They project was done on time and now my girls have two playrooms where they can actually find their toys!
Description of Work: Organized our 2 playrooms, with all the toys and toy parts that had been separated by multiple moves. We have an incredible number of toys and a 10 month old, so one playroom had to be designated as "baby safe". It was a big job and I think they did it very well.

It is a excellent service that they offer. They helped me in my office. They have done such a superb job of getting everything in its place and easy for me to reach. Linda returned my call promptly and explained how her company operated. After hearing my needs, she arranged for Kim to come to my home. Kim is very easy to work with and very good at organizing. She is always upbeat and positive even when I show her my most overwhelming projects. I am continuing to use her on a regular basis until I get organized.

Organizers Kim and Deedee were prompt, thorough and highly efficient. They also worked very well as a team to get the job completed on schedule. I thought the price was high, but after checking with several professional organizers in the area, it appeared reasonable.

I was very pleased with the results. We had moved from a bigger home to a smaller home and Kim's expertise helped me organize and fit things into smaller spaces, especially in the kitchen. An added bonus is that my daughter loves that her toys now all have a place where they belong. She is much more willing to pick up after herself and is playing more with a greater variety of toys than in the past. I found Kim and Linda very accommodating and easy to work with. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to my friends!

After Linda's intro meeting, Lisa & Kim worked with me on 2 different Fridays one week apart & we basically got the attic done- I couldn't believe it! They work very fast & were efficient in sorting, organizing, & helping me make decisions. They did all the moving, hauling, & throwing out, thereby saving my back. Not only did we sort, they are awesome at labeling all boxes & containers so you know what's there in the future. They encouraged me to have a garage sale later since I have so much to move out. They have the names of organizations that will come & pick up what doesn't sell, so once it leaves my house, it's not coming back. They motivated me so much I spent some evenings on my own going through boxes. Lisa & Kim were both nice, patient, down-to-earth people who were completely non-judgmental about my junk & who listed to all my family stories as I sorted. They got me off square one- it was worth every penny. I highly recommend everyone at Alltogether Organized!
Description of Work: We need to rehab my full walk-up unfinished attic, but it was filled with 20 years of boxes, furniture, junk, & stuff. I tried to sort through it on my own for months, but got nowhere fast & was overwhelmed. There was barely a path to even walk through the attic & I didn't know where to start. Kim arrived on time, jumped in right away, and started sorting through my belongings. She did a good job of making progress and getting me involved without overwhelming me. She offered good suggestions on what to do with things to keep me more organized going forward. While I felt like the money I spent was worth the job I got done, the price ($60/hour) is high, and I will only use their services again if I am desperate (again).
