We had a really awful experience with A N E. After receiving the base project bid, they did a walk through with us to scope some upgrades, By the time we published notes from the walk through later that day (they never provided a scope document) to obtain a quote, they had started the work. We were planning to proceed, so didn't raise a concern. On publishing the notes, we asked that either A N E or the GC respond ASAP if there were any discrepancies - no response from either. Execution was a mess. They either didn't read or chose to ignore the architects specifications. Wrong light switches, wrong outlet covers, switches connected to the wrong things, wall sconces installed upside down (despite instruction otherwise) and lots of lights that weren't functional at the time of occupancy. Despite the fact that one of the upgrades was to put dimmers on several lights, and the fact that they didn't raise any concern about this when we published the scope, they declined to provide on the premise that they told us (verbally, several months ago in a conversation we don't remember...) that they would only install dimmers if we provided (purchased) them. Best of all - unbelievable attitude. On return to the house for punch list items (such as provide power to multiple rooms), arrived without a ladder or manpower to carry a ladder to reach the ceiling fan on an 11" ceiling. Asked our help to provide and carry the ladder to the second floor, then got into an argument over the wiring and walked off the job.
