A-1 PEST CONTROL

Had hornets flying into into my brick wall where my soffit ended with a small piece of mortar missing. Sean came out in a couple of days and attacked the problem. He told me if I still had hornet traffic to call him the next day. He came out the day after that and it seems now I am hornet free. Sean is extremly professional, he explained everything to me. He is extremly knowlegeable and their prices are fair. He also worked on a second nest near the first and removed a wasps nest attached to my upper eave. They guarantee their work all summer. This is a 3 generation family business that has been in business for over 60 years I think. Don't hesitate to call them.

Haven't seen evidence of ants inside, though that was slower to develop to begin with, so it could take a while to come back. However, the outside spray did not seem to work at all. I still see ants crawling on the house, and the the ant hills, which I had washed away shortly before they arrived have all come back within the week and half since they sprayed. I called to tell them that the application didn't work so that I could schedule for them to come back. I had specifically asked if they would come back if it didn't work before I even made the appointment, and I was told that they would. When I called, however, I was told that it didn't apply to ant hills, only to the places where they specifically sprayed on the foundation. I recommend Code Pest Control. I've used them various times in the past, and the reason I originally called this company was by mistake, because I mixed up the names. They will come back if the first application doesn't work, as any good company would, I should think. So, to be specific, they charge 199 for inside and out, and a second visit if required. Anyway, they've never let me down. I've called them to schedule, but I hate having to pay twice for something that I should only have to pay once for. I'm bumping the grade up to a D because of the super, nice man that actually made the application. Friendly service counts for something in my book, even though the lady on the phone was unsympathetic and unwilling to follow through with service until performed satisfactorily. I won't be using them again.

We've been using a1 for six years, and they have been fantastic. We use them quarterly for maintenance. We have also called on them for bees, raccoons, and skunks.

We had some issues with centipedes and gypsy moths. They took care of the problem and gave us tips on how to prevent further problems.

A great service provider, very informative about how I can reduce the chances of bugs etc.

We are very satisfied with A-1 Pest Control's quarterly preventative treatment process. We initially had a mouse problem in our attic, which led us to A-1. Since their quarterly treatments have been done we rarely have any bugs, have not had even a hint of a mouse, and appreciate their prompt reminders to schedule. The entire process is efficient, effective, pet safe, and the results are a great comfort.

We had pretty good results. Last summer I only discovered a few moths in the basement. This year it's still a little early but I don't think there are any eggs. They gave me a cedar concentrate spray. It seems like a very good solution.

They are terrific. I don’t remember how much they charged us but it was reasonable. We’ve used them before. I like the fact that they use organic products. The people are super nice. They are very prompt in coming to address whatever the issue is and it works. They are really quick and I would very highly recommend them. We’ve used them a couple of times before. Every spring we seem to have an ant problem. We will surely continue to use their services in the future.

I would say their service scheduling is nice because they call you to try and schedule a good time. They make it pretty easy on you because they call and remind you and set up the appointment each time. They have a small company set up, it's not a big corporation and I think that's important. We have continued to use them.

It’s been a positive experience. They were able to take care of the problem and get rid of the bugs. They do good work. I would recommend them.

They will come outside the normal service schedule if needed. We have baited traps for mice and they spray for bugs. It is working as we find dead mice every once in a while. Something is working because we are not seeing live mice all over the place!

Excellent service, timely, responsive and I've signed on for routine maintenance and reviews because they are so reliable.

They were reliable, responsive, and knowledgeable. They came right out and they were very easy to work with. I didn’t compare pricing.

They set up traps for mice and they have been good about that. There were wasps that got under some shingles. So, they came out to take care of it. They are very personable and timely. They usually come a little bit earlier and are very prompt. I would continue to use their services in the future too.

had an animal that proved to be a racoon down a chimney flue. a-1 came out right away. the tech gave his ideas and a plan to follow. he set traps and used some tricks to see what was going on. we wound up trapping two racoons. a-1 took care promptly when we phoned results. have had caps put on flue. great results.

I appreciated her honesty, and was able to quickly find another "green" pest control company to come out at no charge, find the yellow jacket nest, and solve the problem for a low cost using no chemicals.

The service part generally went fine, however, we later discovered that despite our compliance with a signed contract which specified that we had to call in every morning to report whether or not an animal had been trapped and, if there was a trapped animal, they would come and remove it (and charge $85 to do so). However, on days when there was no animal in the traps in the morning and we called it in as required by the contract, as madmitted by an employee of A-1, their drivers would come by later in the day to see if there was an animal trapped and if there was, they would remove it (and charge us $85). They were also taking direction from tenants of the building which they were not authorized to take direction from. Their actions inflated the bill as it led to multilpe pick-ups (and charges) on consecutive days as opposed to pick-ups of multiple animals on a single day as there were four traps set. They failed to bill us at the correct address which we had provided and did not take the time to call us at the phone number which was provided (and reflected on the top of their invoice). The first time we received notice that we owed them money was after they sent our bill to collections and we have been being harassed by collections since. A-1 has refused to discuss these charges with us.

I was very satisfied with their work. They were professional and responsive. They guaranteed their work and were thorough in explanations of what they were going to do.

The specialist got to work, had the tools to accomplish the job and was an overall pleasant person to deal with. The work was finished in less than half an hour.

The exterminator also checked the exterior of my home for no additional charge, and knocked down a few small wasp nests. I was very pleased with the experience.

We hired A 1 Pest Control shortly after we moved into our new home because we noticed a mouse, box elder, Chinese Beatle, wasp, and carpenter bee problem. We used the company for approximately 2 years to address these issues. A 1 Pest control was able to tame everything with the exception of the wasp and carpenter bee problem. We were recommended to contact Orkin who was able to address the carpenter bee and wasp problem on one visit. However, due to our loyalty to A 1 Pest control, we continued our services with their company. Lucy was always very nice and had a very nice personal touch! Her technician was always on time and efficient. We had to discontinue our services because the technician. He offered his services as a carpenter to us since our home was in need of work (he was a carpenter previously). We hired him to complete some smaller carpentry jobs around our home. He had asked for a $500 check before completing the work. Since we had used the company for so long, we felt this was okay. Unfortunately, we waited nearly 8 weeks without the technician coming to complete the jobs...and he was already paid. We had set up over 5 appointments for him to come with him canceling that same day several hours after he was supposed to arrive. We could not understand why this was happening and felt it was inconsiderate of our time, so we simply asked for a refund of the money...with him declining claiming he did not have enough in his account to repay us. As a result, we had to cancel our routine service with the company. We did not mention this to the company so his job would not be jeopardized, but rather told them, "We cannot continue due to things beyond our control." Overall, had no issues with the company itself. My recommendation, however, is that if you have a wasp or carpenter bee issue, you might want to consult an outside company. Also, do not hire any of their staff to do any work outside of the company, regardless of the situation they tell you

They were fine. They were here when they said they would be and the price was reasonable. They provide good service.

A-1 Pest Control did a great job, they went out of their way to calm me down, they were very punctual and they were able to get rid of the two animals.

I called A-1 to get a quote for extermination services, but unfortunately they do not service my area. The receptionist was extremely friendly though and still gave me information, even after she told me they don't service my area. She then recommended another company who does service my area. I really appreciated her taking the time to help me and answer questions, knowing they wouldn't be making any money off of me. This type of service is above and beyond!

We've had pretty good luck with A-1. I especially like dealing with Lucy on the phone. She's so nice and accommodating, and just fun to talk to. Rob is the person who most often comes to our house. We have had ant problems, on and off, and it sometimes takes a few tries for Rob to get them gone. He knows his bugs, though, and can tell you much of the eating/mating habits of different insects. He has helped me to understand why and how he treats certain bugs (for example, carpenter bees) the way he does. A-1's costs are good, and with the quarterly service we have had a few calls that have had no charge.
