The Irish Castle team, both management and crew, were outstanding. When the original asphalt was removed they found that the ground underneath was not firm enough to meet their requirements to do a quality job. So, per their advice, we waited until the soil and gravel base had a chance to firm up before the new asphalt was applied. The crew arrived right on time, as scheduled, and did a fantastic job. The new asphalt looks great and I couldn't be happier with the job they did. I highly recommend this company.

We couldn't be happier with the work of Irish Castle Paving. What I thought would be an all day project was finished in about 2 hours. Price was very competitive - and the crew was very professional. Today we got our Angie's List first free seal coating (one year later) and the driveway looks amazing!

Job was done very well. Corrected all existing draining problems. We were also very pleased with the finished border by the new landscaping rocks. Looks fantastic!!

Pat of Irish Castle Paving responded quickly to my request for a quote. He had the best price among 3 vendors. Pat assisted me in working with my Village to get a permit. He was very accommodating in scheduling installation. The crews arrived on time and completed the job quickly. They removed all remnants of old driveway. New driveway was installed per original quote. We Love It!

Everything went great. Pat is a wonderful person to work with. He came out to give the estimate and after that most of our communication was through emails. They started excavating the old driveway at 7:30am and were done by 9:30. They returned in the afternoon to lay the new asphalt. Even Pat was out there working and cleaning with his crew. My husband went out to ask a few questions and Pat was happy to answer them. Everything was done by 4pm. No problems. I would highly recommend them.

Work was done promptly, old driveway was removed and more stone was added. Irish Castle came back in the time promised (2 weeks) and finished the job in one day. They did a nice cleanup job and the finish work is good. Pat and the other workers answered my questions, they are very polite. They were recommended to me by a neighbor and I recommend them to the next person.

Called Pat Doorhy at Irish Castle for an estimate and he showed up as scheduled and gave me a very good price(the best of three others) for the job. My gravel driveway is somewhat complex in that it is a 360 degree full circle which slopes down from the street and then uphill to the garage. Pat and his crew arrived exactly on time and graded the entire drive adding gravel where needed. The asphalt was then laid down with perfect curves on the inside and outside edges. I am totally pleased and satisfied with the service, quality and price of the work and highly recommend Castle Paving.

Came on time, worked quickly and efficiently , suggested we contact our township to get our curb cut at no expense to us. Our neighbor is going to use them next year to get her driveway done.

Great experience. Pat was very professional and his guys were great! They removed the whole drive in the morning laid down stones. I thought this would be a 2 day job but Pat said no they would be back in the afternoon. They came back around 1:30pm and started laying the asphalt. They did a great job and fast! The drive looks fantastic. I would highly recommend using Irish Paving. You can call, email and text Pat. You will get a response in a timely manner. I wasn't concerned if I didn't hear back immediately as it was "high" season and knew they had many jobs. I ALWAYS heard back. I couldn't of asked for anything better. Great company and great guys!

I couldn't be happier with the service that we received from Patrick and his team. They did a fantastic job and did exactly what we wanted them to do. The quality of the work was great and they were one of the lowest bids that we received. We will definitely be calling on them when we need them in the future.

I called Irish Castle to schedule and estimate and promptly heard back from Pat. He then came out to my house and surveyed the job and turned an estimate around to me quickly. I had gotten a few other estimates for other local providers, but ultimately choose Irish Castle because of the reviews I read here on Angie;s List. I really wanted to get these guys in to replace my old (20-30 years?) asphalt driveway. We also just had a new garage build so the old driveway didn'tt quite match up to the new garage apron. Fortunately, Pat was able to schedule me fairly quick. They were very professional to work with and did a great job of setting our expectation regarding the work and timeline. Ultimately I'm confident I chose the right contractor and I couldn't be happier.

Works was fantastic. They showed up on time, the crew cleaned and prepped the site and then started paving. 2 1/2 hours later we had a brand new driveway! It looks great. The leveled everything and it is better than before.

After reading some good reviews of contractors in our area we contacted Pat at Irish Castle. While they're not based in Naperville, they do in fact quite a few jobs here. Pat himself showed up to take the measurements, explain all the work that would be done, tell us about his company, and provide the estimate of costs. I felt the initial bid was a little high, but Pat explained the component costs for concrete in particular for our area had increased a lot, something I verified independently. Pat was willing to negotiate some and we agreed on a price we both thought was fair. The work was done in two phases. The first phase involved demolition of the existing drive, re-leveling of the entire surface, and pouring of the concrete sidewalk squares. Pat was there the morning the crew arrived. We discussed a few concerns I had, namely the settling around the foundation and the irrigation system along the driveway. While Pat reassured me his crew does this sort of job all the time, he still took the time to explain how they would do it, answering every question I had along the way. The second phase involved the driveway install which occurred about 12 days after the original phase. Once again the crew arrived on-time and Pat was there doing the work alongside his well-organized team. Both phases took roughly 4 or so hours to complete. It was a little difficult being without a driveway for 12 days, but to ensure the concrete is strong, you need about 10 days minimum for a proper cure. The only issue we had was the concrete sub-contractor had roughly a wheel-barrel full of extra material which he insisted had to be left at the job. We weren't expecting that, and we had no logical place to put it, so they spread it out over the gravel in the driveway apron. Pat assured us his crew would remove the discarded concrete before they poured the new driveway, and rest assured they did just that. They brought in additional gravel and re-leveled & compacted the sub structure a second time before pouring the asphalt and cleaning up. Overall, we're very pleased with Pat and his crew. They were very professional and client focused.

I would have them come out and give me a quote again in the future.

Pat from Irish Castle was prompt and courteous on providing an estimate with a full explanation of expectations. His price was reasonable with no surprises. He called in advance with the expected date of delivery with permits approved. The final product was well done. The drainage slope was as described and no puddling occurred. During the course of the job, I made a couple suggestions and he and his crew were very prompt in addressing my concerns. I have no problem recommending Irish Castle other neighbors.

Easily the best contractor experience I have ever had. Exceeded expectations in terms of price, quality scheduling/on-time completion. Best price from three bids. Included replacement of old diy drain with new commercial correct drain. I wanted to be done before graduation season and I am all set. Thanks to Pat and his crew.

The crew was due around 10 AM, showed up shortly after. Proceeded to remove driveway, level existing sub surface and add gravel where needed. Driveway was laid very quickly. The crew made sure that drainage was right and overall did a great job. Finished in about 4 hours. Very pleased with results and have gotten positive comments already.
