Pat and his crew were absolutely awesome! He did everything we agreed to and even went the extra mile when we had an issue with our garbage company. He removed and replaced approximately 10,000 square feet of asphalt and also installed a concrete slab. Extremely professional, courteous, and awesome communication!! City wouldn't give me a permit - said he has not returned to finish job after removing old pavement and putting down new gravel in several Naperville locations.

Pat and his crew were great. The dimensions of our driveway is about 33x22, was majorly cracked, and had two small drains that kept getting clogged which led to our garage flooding whenever it rained. Irish Castle removed the existing asphalt, laid new asphalt, and installed two trench drains that spanned the entire width of our driveway. It has rained twice since they completed the job and not a drop has made it in our garage.

All work done as promised. Estimate was done quickly and with a fair price. Permit obtained and work completed within a month. Would highly recommend.

I found Irish Castle Paving through Angie's list and based on the good reviews contacted Pat. Pat and his team did an excellent job. I obtained the permit from the city ahead of the work and Pat coordinated the rest. The work was very professional and clean. It is about a year now and I got the seal coating done through his offer that came as part of the work. George did a a great job with that too. Based on my experience, I definitely recommend his services.

Irish Castle is one that I, you might say, got from Angie's List. This is also another very good experience. I found them on your site and they were also recommended by another contractor who I just talked about, so I got real good references on them. I found them very cooperative, very easy to work with, and I found their attention to detail and quality to be excellent.

Once they came over and gave me a driveway quote I found out they also did concrete work, even though they don't really talk about concrete all that much on their website, but they do concrete work as well. It's pretty much the same comments as on the asphalt driveway. The company owner, Pat, is very easy to work with, and had some good ideas as how to handle some minor details that I thought were going to be difficult.

Pat and the men that came out to work on our driveway were professional and friendly. We got a quote right away and did not even need to put a deposit down. Pat took care of the permit for us and kept in touch through e-mails and phone. The price was reasonable and they did a great job! I would highly recommend them.

It took 4 months and 1 day from start to finish to get the driveway replaced. So far, I’m very happy with the work the crews did. We will have to wait and see whether the driveway holds up longer than the 3-year warranty. The low grades are the result of the contractor’s haphazard oversight of the project and communication with me. I could give you the complete 4-month timeline, but that's overkill. The point is that communication was poor at best. To improve these grades, Pat needs an answering service so that callers to his office don't have to repeat themselves multiple times to someone who speaks English as a second language. He also needs to define, review and/or refine his processes. In my experience, contractors handle everything having to do with permits, but not so in this case. I think Pat, who was on site with the work crew finishing our job, has a business that has grown beyond his ability to do everything himself. He is a personable and friendly individual, but he needs a support staff so he can concentrate on whatever it is he wants to do.

Had to repeat my information to receptionist two times. Told receptionist my availability is 6pm M-F or weekends (told her that 2 times also). Someone called saying they would come by around 12ish . Told him no good, has to be 6pm or weekend. Rescheduled for 6pm on weekday Guy never showed up but called around 8pm apologizing that the rain caused problems with his schedule. Said if we were still interested to call back. We never did.

Perfectly. After an initial mixup about meeting times, we met and planned out the changes. Pat offered me a few options and we chose one. He got the permit for my town, planned it out, and completed it in a reasonable time and on budget. Moreover, it looks great!

The principle, Pat Doorhy, is wonderful to work with. He promptly answered all my texts and emails and questions. The job was performed to my satisfaction. I requested 3 inches of asphalt and 6 inches of base and that's was I received. I had some tree roots that were invading the asphalt.. IC did not perform the work until I removed them. IC dug test holes in the existing base to determine that their was in fact 6 inches of stone and added stone where needed.We discussed the work thoroughly and IC addressed all my needs. His crew is competent, professional and respectful. The work was done timely. It was not rushed and I was not pressured.I had a 5x5 area of concrete replaced. IC's concrete contractor tied the area into the existing walkway with rebar and finished it beautifully. Prior to hiring IC another paver was in the neighborhood soliciting work. Their price was $2000 higher and their work was shoddy. The finish on the other paver's work was full of lines. They didn't allow a week for the cement apron on my neighbor's driveway to cure before paving. IC delayed paving for a week to allow the concrete to cure so that they would not chip the concrete. IC cleaned up after their work - removing all debris. At the conclusion of the job IC adjusted its price because it used less material (stone) then expected. After the work was completed a neighbor walked by and commented that my driveways looked beautiful and they do.Prior to performing the work I asked Pat for references. IC had done other work in the neighborhood. My wife and I viewed it and it too was perfectly done. This is the third time I have had my driveways paved in 35 years. By far IC did the best work. I would rate them a 10!.
