Paredes gave me a quote and we agreed that the only additional work remaining to be done by me after they completed their restoration would be to remove moss between some of the pavers on a section located away from the stairs where the walkway was already level, and to replace the sand between these same level pavers where sand had eroded. Peredes arrived on time and began tearing out the bricks. He replaced the gravel underneath the stairs and built them back up. He made repairs to walkway pavers. He brought in rocks and finished on the second day. Two days after completion of the work it rained, and we noticed a puddle of water had forming at the base of the stairs. We were concerned that the walkway pavers were now pitching toward the house instead of away from the house and would cause more accelerated erosion. Paredes came out and stated that his price did not include leveling the walkway pavers at the base of the stairs. I disagreed and stated we asked for all pavers to be made level. He said that the only reason water was forming at the base of the stairs is that he fixed the stairs and so the water is no longer going beyond that point is so it is now puddling at the base of the stairs. Why would they fix the stairs and other walkway pavers, but leave the walkway pavers at the base of the stairs pitching toward the house so that water forms at the base? It is a small area and could have easliy been leveled. We expected that the job included leveling of all the unlevel pavers and not exclude the section of sidewalk pavers in front of the stairs. He left them pitching downward toward the house. He said that leveling the pavers in front of the stairs was not part of the deal, and he requested more money to repair that. We were left with no choice except to pay more. He quoted a price of $250 to repair the walkway pavers at the base of the stairs, but he had no intention of delivering. He made an appointment for Monday, but did not show up. When I called him, he said he was working another job and would be by the following day. Again, he did not show up. When I called him again, I expressed my concern that he had not shown up twice and I questioned whether or not he would even honor his 5 year warrantee since he seems now to be so evasive. He said that he would call me the following day, but did not. At that point, he stopped answering my calls. When I called from a different number, he answered and told me to get someone else to do the repair job. I contracted with another company who had done work for several of my neighbors. The new company charged much less than Paredes, and had to redo the work done by Paredes. After my experience, I heard from another of my neigbors who told me Paredes did them the same way. He did the install, and left a problem area. Then would not come back to fix the problem area so he had to get someone else to repair Paredes' work. I would not do business with Paredes again. If anyone does, please inspect his work thoroughly before making the final payment because if issues are found later, Paredes will not return to fix them. Be sure to take your level when you inspect to make sure the pavers are level and pitching properly. Please also be sure to check for debris removal, as I had to remove nails and other debris left on my lawn by his workers after they were gone. Lesson - shop around for price, and inspect thoroughly before you make the final payment because Paredes will not return to make corrections to his work.

He did a fantastic job. He had four guys working on the project and they did a real good job. The price was excellent. I am very happy with the final result.
