Universal Fence

I explained what I needed to be done and they did it quickly and followed my request perfectly. I have worked with them in the past and would work with them with my fencing needs. I would recommend them to anyone who needs fencing work

Universal Fence is the worst vendor with whom we have ever dealt. They installed a fence in a small area in late 2015. The work was mediocre (to show you how bad it was, when we wanted to get additional fencing installed we used a different company). We started having an issue with the gate 7 months later. When they installed the fence, we were told there was a warranty. I called on July 7 to report the issue. It is now the end of July and they still have not come out to look at the problem or fix it. So in our case, they have not stood behind their work or honored their warranty.

Great service and results. Everything as planned, I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Don even gave me an estimate on the chain link gate and fence I wasn't looking to repair but couldn't pass up on after receiving the estimate. I would definitely use their services again. Thank you.

I have not heard anything.

A friend recommended Universal Fence, so I picked them as one of the three estimates that I had done (all companies were highly-ranked on Angie's List). The other two estimates were similar in price; but Universal Fence was lower by almost $500-- plus their lead time was only 1 week instead of 6 weeks (like the other two). I was skeptical that the service would be acceptable, because Universal was so much less expensive: But my friend's fence is very well-made, so I chose their estimate. The day after I got my permit from the village, Universal Fence called to schedule the installation. Less than a week later, my fence had been installed! There were two workmen who did the job all in one day; and they were amongst the hardest-working, most polite guys I have ever met. They did a fabulous job building the fence onsite, and cleaned up perfectly after themselves. When the village inspector came to do the final sign-off, he even mentioned that the fence was very nicely done! I would recommend Universal Fence to anyone for their reasonable pricing and excellent service.

Very pleased. The crew was outstanding, was on time and worked fast. The supervisor was very professional and kept us informed on what they were doing, and spoke with us afterward on what to do to keep the fence in good shape for as long as possible. They cleaned up well after the work. I would definitely recommend them to someone else.

The install went great -- there was like a one week delay in getting in the backyard but they really took care of me in the front yard. Project was very extensive and they never waivered. Did an excellent job and used the best of cedar. The fence is strong and will last me as long as I live in the house. Also they really followed directions and created even a better design than I originally came up with. I cannot recommend them enough -- I'd give them an A + if I could.

Universal fence came out and gave me an estimate. I received three other estimates as well. I decided on another contractor at first(they had a lower bid) but then received a follow up call by universal fence. He explained to me why I should choose his company ( building materials/ built on site fencing etc.) and met the price of the lowest bid. So I decided to sign a contract with Universal Fence. They came out on the scheduled time, pulled all the permits, and had the appropriate inspectors show up later to inspect the job. After completion I couldn't be happier! As a side note about 4 months later I noticed some of the boards were warping. I notified the Universal fence and they came right out and fixed it, no problem! Once again I couldn't be happier with my fence! I highly recommend Universal fence.

I chose Universal because I saw the work they did on two other houses in the area. I liked the idea of metal support posts because I was tired of repairing the previous fence. Don came out and gave me an estimate within a day of me calling. They accept credit cards so it was a nice plus compared to other companies. The project price was the lowest of all the bids. I had to take care of the permit which was no problem. The work took two days - from removal to a new fence. I can not tell you how fabulous the workers were who were on my job. There was a supervisor there and any question I had was asked and answered. One of the workman even noticed that one of the gates on the one section they did not repair was broken. The workman repaired it without even mentioning it - what a nice surprise. They kept the job site clean and safe and worked efficiently the entire time they were there. Very pleased with their work.

Jose met with us and listened as we described our ideal outcome. He quickly showed us some photos that contained elements of what we wanted and offered some specific design ideas of his own. We realized quickly that he would come up with a great custom design. The office folks at Universal did a good job communicating with us about the schedule for our project. They were a couple of days later than the best-case date given, but arrived on the third day offered in the original 3-day window. We received a call reminding us that they would be coming the day prior. Jose and his 2-man crew cut and built everything on site, and they finished the job in about five hours. They left absolutely nothing for me to have to clean up. The final product is excellent and met all of our expectations. The price we paid was the same as the original estimate, so there were no surprises. I would add that Jose offered several suggestions to save us money as we were putting the project together. He was an outstanding fellow to work with, and I would use Universal for future deck and fence work.

They did the most fabulous, professional and beautiful work. They were courteous and polite. I can't say enough about them they were just great. Top, top, top recommendation.

The salesman came out the day after I called for an estimate. He supplied me with 4 different estimates from most inexpensive fence to more expensive. He gave me a lot of options and was very informative. As soon as I got my permit, I called and within 4 days, my fence was up. The entire job only took 2 hours. The workers were very careful not to trample my plants and cleaned up well. It was a relatively small job but they treated it like it was important. I was very impressed.

Looks great and the work was done quickly. They were the least expensive of the three companies we asked for estimates but they did a great job.

We got their bid along with others based upon the reports listed in Angie's list. Our experience was much like the existing reports. Their bid came in the same or slightly below the others. The work was done in one day, which was surprising. The fence looks great, we found no problems with it. We did have a telephone line malfunction after the install, but I called Universal and they contacted the phone company. The next day phone service was restored--I never saw or spoke with a telephone company representative. Universal called a day or two later to make sure the phone was fixed. I would recommend them to others.

GREAT PEOPLE, GREAT PRICE, BEAUTIFUL WORK. WE GOT ESTIMATES FROM 3 COMPANIES. UNIVERSAL'S ESTIMATE WAS THE LOWEST BY $2000. THEY WERE VERY PLEASANT TO WORK WITH. WE HAD UNEXPECTED SNAFUS ON OUR END (DUE TO NO FAULT OF UNIVERSAL. IT TURNED OUT PART OF OUR FENCE WAS NOT ON OUR PROPERTY AND WE WERE DELAYED UNTIL WE CAME TO AN AGREEMENT WITH OUR NEIGHBORS AND NEEDED UNIVERSAL TO WRITE A SEPARATE ESTIMATE FOR THEM. THEN A STORM TOOK DOWN ANOTHER PART OF OUR FENCE AND WE HAD TO ASK DON TO COME BACK OUT AND GIVE US AN ESTIMATE ON THAT SECTION FOR INSURANCE. THROUGH THIS, EVERYONE AT UNIVERSAL WAS WONDERFUL, HELPFUL, PATIENT, AND UNDERSTANDING. THE CREW WAS GREAT. THEY TOOK DOWN AND REPLACED ALL 300 FEET OF FENCE AND ADDED THE GATES IN ONE DAY AND IT LOOKS TERRIFIC. VERY MINOR CAVEAT - ASK FOR A CALL THE DAY BEFORE THEY COME. THEY ACTUALLY SURPRISED US AND CAME A WEEK EARLIER THAN WE EXPECTED. BUT THIS IS NOT A COMPLAINT. OUR EXPERIENCE WAS VERY POSITIVE.

VERY PLEASED WITH THE QUALITY AND SPEED OF WORK PERFORMED. VERY RESPONSIVE ON INITIAL CALL, BUT HAD SOME TROUBLE WITH RESPONSE TO BOOK THE WORK. ULTIMATELY IT WORKED OUT GREAT. HAD THREE BIDS FOR THE WORK, AND UNIVERSAL FENCE WAS THE LOW BID.

EVERYTHING WENT LIKE CLOCKWORK. THEY WORKED A LONG DAY AND MADE AN EFFORT TO EVERYTHING CORRECTLY. THE GATE HINGES ARE REALLY SPECIAL AND STRONG, AND THE LATCH IS NEAT AND EFFICIENT. THEY REALLY KNOW HOW TO DO A FENCE PROPERLY ALIGNED, SET, ETC. WONDERFUL FAMILY ORIENTED COMPANY WITH EXCELLENT COMMUNICATION SKILLS. YOU FEEL THEY WILL BE THERE FOR YOU and THE INSTALLATION (WORKMANSHIP) FOR LIFE OF THE FENCE. THEY ARE ALSO THE ONLY ONES WHO GAVE NAMES AND PHONE NUMBERS FOR REFERENCES. JOSE HIMSELF WORKED AND SUPERVISED THE JOB WHICH WAS A FULL DAY FOR 3 MEN.

EXCELLENT WORK. THE ONLY PROBLEM EXPERIENCED WAS THAT I WAS PROMISED A PHONE CALL BACK IN A WEEK AND A HALF TO SET UP APPOINTMENT FOR WORK TO BE DONE. AFTER A WEEK AND A HALF I HAD TO LEAVE 4 MESSAGES FOR A CALL BACK. THEY STATED THAT MY WORK ORDER HAD BEEN FILED IN THE COMPLETED WORK FILE WHICH IS WHY I DID NOT RECEIVE A CALL BACK. OTHERWISE I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM.

AUGUSTIN IS A LITTLE HARD TO UNDERSTAND DUE TO A THICK ACCENT BUT HE IS WONDERFUL TO WORK WITH AND DOES QUALITY WORK.
