Excellent, Bob Peterson is prompt professional, and very easy to work with. No job too small or detailed for him. He can do whatever custom job you need. I would hire him again.

Work was done very well. Bob is a true pro and would definitely hire again.

He installed paneling and trim around the windows, doors and baseboards in the garage. He made and installed eight cabinet doors for our large bookcase. We are pleased with his work. He is always on time for his appointments. He listens to what we wish to accomplish, makes good suggestions on how to do it, what materials to use and adjusts when we change our minds on a project. We plan on using him again for other projects in our home.

It was a pleasure to work with Bob. This is our third project with RA Peterson and it was a great experience. The quality of work, level of communication and honesty is always top notch. We had Bob construct a built-in cabinet to match existing kitchen cabinets which included molding, trim, hardware and color matching. The cabinet is a perfect fit. We are very pleased with the finished product and would hire RA Peterson again in the future.

Great, just how I needed it done, no problems..

I wanted to beam and plank by vaulted ceiling. Bob listened to my ideas and took the time to understand what I was looking for. He even made some sample beams to help me visualize the design. Given his many years of carpentry experience, he was able to present various options for the ceiling and explained in detail how it would look. He was very patient with my many questions. Bob was punctual and trustworthy. He took great care to protect my wood flooring from construction dust and debris. The final decision was a shiplap design instead of tongue and groove. As you can see in the photo, the ceiling is magnificent! Bob made each beam and manufactured the planks from solid pine. His attention to detail and workmanship were impeccable. He also put in crown molding in my kitchen and did some closet trim work... once again, a perfect job! So if you are looking for a master craftsman, Bob is your man!

I hired Bob to install my kitchen cabinets and am extremely satisfied with his work. As part of my kitchen renovation, I hired Bob to install frameless cabinets, light rail, and crown molding. He also created and installed a custom window frame and custom trim for the kick plates. Bob is a craftsman and the pride he takes in his work clearly showed in the quality of the installation. Cabinets were installed perfectly level and plumb, crown miters were tight, and attention was paid to every detail to make sure our cabinets looked perfect, including finding touch up paint that matched our white cabinets perfectly. Bob is friendly, easy to communicate with, was flexible with my schedule, and showed up when he said he would. There were no issues with the project; a few minor details were quickly attended to and resolved to my satisfaction. If you are looking a skilled professional to install your cabinets or do trim carpentry, I highly recommend Bob. I would definitely hire him again if I need to do similar work.

25 years ago Bob custom made the cabinets for our kitchen when we added on to our house. Bob did a great job, we were very happy with his work. They were beautiful, they lasted so well for all those years, now we just wanted an update. We called Bob, he came to look at the job, gave us a quote quickly, and then got started right away. He built us an island and bar to match the original cabinets. They turned out so beautiful, you would think they were original. He checked in with us every day by either phone or stopping by to check on the progress of the other tradesmen we were waiting on so he could install. We were so happy with his timeline, professionalism, work ethic and humor. We would HIGHLY recommend Bob. He is a gem :)

Bob installed crown molding in three rooms and a powder room and designed the fireplace to match our existng kitchen. Regarding the crown, he took his time to research moldings that matched our specifications and installed them quickly. Regarding our fireplace - the result was a beautiful piece of woodwork that changed the look of the entire room. The quality of the work is first class, the finish is smooth and professional and the look matched our existing kitchen as we had requested. He was punctual in arriving, honest in his pricing, very understanding and easy to work with with regard to changes in timeline and changes in the look of the project and always cleaned up afterwards. He is very personable and a pleasure to work with and most importantly, he is a truly skilled craftsman.

Bob is an amazing carpenter. These are the fourth and fifth projects that we have had Bob do in our home and would definitely engage him again in the future. His approach is very collaborative and every project has involved multiple discussions and reviews before he starts building. For the theatre project I was so comfortable that he was going to deliver exactly what I wanted that I let him install it while I was away on vacation (and I wasnt disappointed).

We hired Bob based on the recommendation from our interior designer who had worked with Bob several times before. He came in, discussed the project with us and our designer and came up with a design for our living room wall. This was our first experience with custom cabinetry so we were a little sticker shocked by the estimate but having a clear understanding that getting exactly what you want has a cost, we decided to invest in the custom work. We were not disappointed in any way with the process, the time, workmanship and finished product. Bob worked with us on our targeted budget, was fair, clear in his communication of timeline (and even finished ahead of schedule) and was very easy to get along with. The installation good about 2 1/2 days to complete. Bob came and delivered the shelves himself and was there for the entire process of installation along with another helper. It took them about 2 1/2 days to install. He spent half a day just making sure the finishing touches, cabinets and door alignment was just right. The finished product was a gorgeous shelving unit that really is a showpiece in our living room. We get so many compliments from our friends on the unit. Bob is an honest, hard worker who definitely loves what he do and he wants to do it right. He was a pleasure to work with on this project.

Bob's cabinetry has added to our house. We love putting art objects and books on the shelves and storing items behind doors. Bob was easy to work with and very helpful with ideas.

Bob seemed nice enough, but prefers not to perform work in Chicago due to past bad experiences.

Everything went fantastic. Bob Peterson is a pleasure to work with. He was willing to listen to thoughts I had and then provided me with examples/samples and ideas that I would not have thought of. He called or texted before he arrived each time and cleaned up each day before he left! He was thorough in his work and you could see he truly LOVES what he does. He was pleasant, knowledgeable, thorough, reasonable and truly does OUTSTANDING WORK! I would highly recommend hiring him!

Bob did a great job throughout the entire process and always someone we could count on as he is the one-person craftsman and contact person. Bob kept us up to date on the timelines and ended up completed the job before our planned deadline. We couldn't be more pleased with the final outcome and will look to use R A Peterson again in the future for a kitchen remodel.

The stone on our fireplace jets out in random places so it made the job challenging. In fact, I was told by another carpenter it couldn't be done. Bob did a perfect job and the mantel is perfect. Please see picture. Bob also planned, measured, and built a paneled wood wall in a grid pattern, in our dining room. Spectacular! Again, please see pictures. I would highly recommend Bob Peterson!

Bob's work is wonderful. He is thoughtful and precise. Our cabinets are beautiful and match our existing cabinets very nicely. These cabinets are much nicer and better quality than our original cabinets. We had pull out drawers put in the new cabinets above the washer and dryer. They are a great addition to our laundry room. Bob also removed the old casing around the window and replaced it with new casing. I cannot recommend Bob enough. His attention to detail is wonderful. He keeps you in the loop about the progress of your job. He will even send you pictures during the building process. Bob's work is quality. We are repeat customers. If we had unlimited funds we would use Bob to do all of our custom wood work!

The room has an entirely new and pulled together look. Bob built the cabinet at his workshop and then installed it over a couple of days. My only problem is trying to decide how to decorate it! We'll have Bob back to install some shelves in our breakfast nook.

It was a complete transformation. My house looks beautiful. Bob did exactly what he said he would do. His suggestions made all the difference in the final look. We are beyond happy. In addition, we were really surprised at how easy Bob made everything seem. There was so little disruption. This job was done by a true professional. We couldn't be happier.

Bob is a honest and skilled craftsman. We continue to hire and work with him for all of our various carpentery home projects. We had two older staircase posts that we wanted to refurbish in our old home. Bob was able to refurbish, create and match molding/trim to our original stair posts. Bob truly enjoys the craftsmanship of carpentry and creates high quality products. We have been 100% satisfied with his work.

From contacting Bob for the estimate through to completion of the work, Bob was very responsive. He came out to do an estimate in a timely manner and made a number of return trips to our home to bring templates to make sure that the design would fit the space well and be able to installed around our fireplace hearth and mantle. It's rare to see someone give so much attention to a project in the estimate phase. He provided detailed drawings and a detailed estimate based on pictures we provided him, ideas from his portfolio, and an examination of crown molding in other rooms of our home (so he could match as closely as possible for the trim on the top of the cabinet). He kindly made adjustments for a glass shelf and electrical when we asked those to be included. The finished product was delivered in the time frame we desired, and Bob was meticulous about making sure the paint and installation jobs were done to perfection. The cabinet is a gorgeous addition to our family room, and looks like it was made to be there. We have received many compliments. We plans to use Bob again when we decide to add crown molding to our foyer. He is a very talented carpenter.
