Description of Work: I am new to Angie's list so this is my first review. I have Art here right now doing some lock work and wondered if my favorite handyman was on Angie's list. Lo and behold he is but with only one review which surprises me. I have known Art since 2006. My first experience with him was when I was moving back to Illinois and bought a town home. My realtor recommended him. My request was for him to paint my entire town home and install 3 ceiling fans before I moved in. His estimate was incredibly competitive (I don't recall the amount and don't know where the paperwork is but once my friends found out what I paid they were surprised at how competitive it was). The nice thing was that since I was still in FL, all I had to do was pick out the colors for walls and trim and he went shopping. The price, quality, promptness and professionalism were all top notch. My second experience with Art was in April of 2007 when my garbage disposal feel through the bottom of my sink on a Saturday morning at about 6:00 am. I called Art (didn't know what else to do) and he said he could be to my house around 8:00 am. He arrived promptly and assessed the damage, offered to go and purchase a new disposal for me and come back and install it. He did just that and all told with an upgraded disposal, time and labor I spent about $400. Next was April of 2008 when my fiancé wanted to sell his town home and needed some fast work done with patching, repairing and painting. Again, his price was great, quality was great and so was his promptness and professionalism. Now we are at 2010 when I finally pick a real color for my town home and ask Art to paint. All again was right with the world. Finally today he is doing the lock work on my house and helping me with my garage door opener. I don't know what the final cost will be because frankly, I didn't ask. I have never had to worry about that with Art. I have to say that when my realtor was singing his praises in the beginning I was skeptical but she was absolutely right. One of the best things I like about having Art do the work for me is that I can give him my key and I trust him implicitly. As a working professional that is a rare find. Additionally, he has some great contacts of professionals he can call on to do the work that he does not do. For instance the ceiling fans I had installed needed electrical wiring run first. That was done in the price Art included in my estimate.
