I called early this morning and asked about having 3 ceiling fans/lights & 6 new sets of Window shades installed. Tony sent Rick out within 1.5 hours & Rick did a phenomenal job. The price was a lil higher than expected but he worked a lil longer than it was expected to take so I understood the increase. Again, phenomenal, caring & I didn’t have to wait days or weeks. I would definitely hire Handy Man again.

Francisco was great. He did an awesome job removing this small cabinet on top of our refrigerator to make room for a new unit. He was prompt and very communicative through the whole process. We will hire him again.

The gentleman who came out was very professional and knew his stuff. Unfortunately, he was unable to actually do the work we hired him for (installing a garage door opener) because of problems outside his control (the ceiling in our garage was too low). This does not bother me a bit, as it was no fault of his own that the job could not be done. However, I still had to pay over $200 for the visit. Since he drove out to my place and did determine the install would not work I have no issue at all paying something, but this amount seemed awfully high to me considering none of the work could be completed. I am not sure if I would go with this service again or not. I really liked the people I dealt with, but the cost kind of rubs me the wrong way.

They were awesome! Nice, professional, responded quickly and fixed several things in one trip. We will definitely be using them for more repairs in the future!

Good work but ridiculously expensive ($188 per hour). Tech was very knowledgeable and did things the right way. Also, had my credit card information stolen after I used their tablet to pay my bill.

Excellent service provider

Called and was quoted $950 to $1100 for deck repair and deck stain job. I was told it might take a couple of *visits* to complete the job. No problem. But the total will still fall within the price quoted, correct? I was told it would. But... I would need to pay for all work after each day. Seemed a bit strange but I agreed. A single worker came out on the appointment date and assessed the deck. He ran to Home Depot to pick up the lumber for the two boards that needed replaced (Side note: He bought the wrong kind and then had to return it) and then returned to power was the deck. After roughly 2 hours of work give or take, he called it a day. The bill for that day ran about $400. How did he figure that I asked. *We charge by the hour* When I called to book them they conveniently left that little fact out. But I paid the man and he set up another appointment to finish the job. I figured at that point I would be over the estimate I was quoted by a little bit but decided to continue on as I just wanted the job done. Worker man came back and proceeded to work approximately 6 to 7 hours on staining the deck and completed roughly 1/3 of the job. The bill for that day? $900. But he thought he could complete the job with another whole day of work. Needless to say, I did not call to book another *appointment* with these people. They did 1/3 of the job and I paid well over the top end of their bogus estimate. I finished the job myself over the course of a few days and even had to re-stain the portion of the deck their worker tried to do. Mr. Handyman of Grayslake never once called me back after the last *appointment* which goes to show their level of care which is they do not care. The main problem is, these people charge by the hour. Not by the job. So there is no impetus for them to complete the job on time. AND... their hourly charge is scaled so the 1st hour of each appointment is close to $200 an hour. Outrageous in my opinion. Stay away from these people.
