A Affordable Hauling

Affordable Hauling is great! We needed to remove old bedroom furniture, which can only be done by experienced movers. They fit me into their schedule the day after I called and took care of it. They were efficient, careful, friendly, and their experience was evident. I highly recommend AH.

They showed up ontime and they left the place clean. The price was the same as the quote on the phone.

They were pretty efficient. They were nice. I just called them over the phone and they took care of it. I never actually met them in person. It was pretty easy. What stood out was the efficiency.

Jim and his crew were excellent. They showed up 10 min early, and finished quickly. Very professional. Very reasonable in discussion on pricing as I had much less stuff than originally quoted, so they cut fee proportional to amount of stuff. I highly recommend them.

I called Affordable Haulers at 8:39 am. They promised to arrive at 1 pm and did. Then speedily removed all junk and swept the floor all in ½ hour.

Jim was very responsive to my request to estimate the cost to haul away a bookcase, file cabinet and office chair. He had quoted between $75-$85 which was very reasonable. We set up a time for him to come and take this furniture and his son and other employee were prompt and kept my sister posted as to when they would be on their way. Everything went smoothly and it was a pleasure dealing with Jim.

3 men were prompt and very accommodating. Worked very efficiently.

The two sons were on time and got right to work nicely. Since my husband is disabled and I am elderly, they also got the serial number off of the garage opener that I needed.

Called Monday, Wed. - 4 men + box truck arrived 9:30 - worked tirelessly until truck was full - 1,000 sq. ft. house - worked all afternoon along with Service Master (4 more guys) - came back next morning for attic & garage.

Called Jim, and scheduled a pickup. Jim and Jim(two different Jims) came as scheduled, and were very polite and very pleasant to work with. This was the third time I used their service at my current home. I worked with A Affordable Hauling several times when I moved from my old home in 2007. It is a real pleasure to work with this group, and I highly recommend them and I will definitely be using their service again.

Mike and his team were very helpful and responsive. Did their work fast and were on their way. They know the area and are real Pro's in a category is not very glamorous.

Called Jim. Set date and time. Jim, Jim and Tim were there on time. They were courteous and competent.

Far from affordable! Wanted to charge double the cost of other similar haulers! In the past I have only submitted positive reviews of companies, however, I felt the experience in this situation was so disappointing that I decided to send a review. I contacted seven hauling services to get quotes for removing furniture and other items from the basement. No construction debris, no concrete, no oversized pieces... two large chairs, one backless sitting bench, 2 lightweight file cabinets, 3 small-to-med chests and miscellaneous boxes and clothes. Every single company except AAffordable was able to provide me with their price bracket based on the space used in their truck. With that information, I was able to compare apples-to-apples knowing that the final cost would be determined once my items were loaded. Although Jim was very nice, I had to press very h****** a second phone call to even get a range of prices. I found this rather odd as all the other firms could provide a range for 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 or full size truck loads. I liked that the company was based in the north/northwest suburbs... and with Jim's assurance that their pricing would be competitive... I agreed to have them come out for an estimate and, if it was acceptable, the haul would be done. Three men arrived with a rather standard sized closed top Uhaul truck. Immediately I was disappointed as without an open top, and without a drop gate back, the flexibility to load and stack items would be severely limited. After reviewing the items to be removed, they gave me a quote of $800-900 dollars (which was almost double every other full truck quote I received) and said it would take two truckloads and two different days. I was shocked! A visiting relative, who happens to be a property manager and handles whole house clean outs was with me and was absolutely astounded at the atrocious price. In speaking with the men, and trying to figure out how they arrived at their pricing, I was told that they were using a smaller than normal truck as their truck was in repair. And as we kept talking, they said that maybe it wouldn't be two full truckloads... maybe a truck and half... and well, maybe they could fit it all in on one trip. We found this to be incredibly unprofessional... not only would I be paying a higher price because they didn't have a truck appropriate for the job and would need to make two trips, but also that the price quote was all over the map... from a start of $1600-1800 for the originally quoted 2 truckloads down to $800/900 for one truckload that they might be able to make work. Every other hauling service I called gave me a similar size full truck price of almost half that of AAffordable!! Jim was very pleasant to speak with.... however their rates are not affordable, not competitive and totally out of line with similar area haulers. I called Junk Genie the same day and they handled the hauling professionally, with clear quotes, almost half the price, with two staff (not three) and with a large truck suitable for hauling... and I couldn't be happier!

The crew of four showed up on time at 9 am and after eight hours and three truckloads finished the clean out. The crew worked hard and was careful, not one scuff mark or ding on any floor or wall, very much appreciated that. Considering how many times they had to go up and down stairs, they remained cheerful and courteous.

ENDABLE. CONFIRMATION CALL DAY BEFORE AND HOUR BEFORE JOB....PROFESSIONAL COURTEOUS MEN DID THE JOB SAFELY AND EXPEDIANTLY FAST AND CLEANED UP AFTER THEMSELVES. REALLY A GREAT COMPANY.

On time, courteous, professional and careful - apparently part of the reason for high price was dumping fee for two items.

They came within the time that was agreed upon. They were professional and efficient. I would use them again.

Second time we have used A Affordable Hauling. They handle tough stuff like old frame-less mirrors that could be a real danger. They do disposal correctly, have a service attitude, and good communication.

Terrific job! In a matter of days, after contacting Jim, my eye sore of a falling down wooden shed was emptied of a bunch of junk, dismantled, and hauled away. It happened so fast I forgot I had junk in my garage that needs to be hauled. I will definitely call on Jim again. Thanks
