Darek Chronowski of "Chicagoland's Finest" is the BEST! He was able to provide great ideas and solutions to issues regarding the remodel. When we ran into a snag with structural issues, he came up with fantastic ideas that saved me money and kept the integrity of the structure in tact. Darek was ALWAYS available and answered his phone whenever I called. He listens carefully and understands your needs as a customer. Darek is very detailed in his work and a perfectionist. He is not satisfied until you are satisfied. He keeps detailed records of expenditures and receipts. Darek keeps you in the loop with progress and most importantly...he keeps you involved so that you completely understand the process and needs of the project. He does not make decisions on his own because he understands that you are the customer and you must make the decisions when it comes to your remodel. He is not like other contractors that can make awkward designs permanent because they did not get prior approval from the owner. Darek has a small crew so you will not have to deal with many strangers walking in and out of your home. The work is carefully discussed and ideas are implemented to your satisfaction. He took care to provide materials and canvass to cover floors and counters. Plastic sheeting was placed around the work area to minimize dirt and dust. Although it is impossible to keep dust out of the rest of your home, Darek makes sure to keep as clean as possible while working. My bathroom is now showroom quality. My home was built in 1897 and has been remodeled various times (prior to my purchase), previous work was shabby, uneven, poor quality and cheap products. Now my bathroom shines with clean lines, gleaming chrome, glass, tile and granite. Most of all, everything was placed with laser like precision so that it is one cohesive sauna like bathroom. On other plug, J&D Whirlpool on Elston street in Chicago has the best prices for hardware and all your bathroom needs. I am absolutely beyond happy with my new bathroom. It is beyond what I expected.

The seams between the drywall sheets were done properly and sanded, ready for primer. Darek and his partner worked very hard and cleaned up after he was done.

They did an excellent job. They were pretty knowledgeable. Their prices are very reasonable.

Excellent professional service performed within budget, on schedule, and with care... protecting adjacent finishes, cleaning up each day following work, insulating exposed water pipes.

This is the fourth time we've used Chicagoland Finest in the past year. Last winter we had two bathrooms and a kitchen completely remodeled and had the basement work done at the end of last year and beginning of this year. To say that Darek and his team are good would be an understatement. They have never disappointed us, work hard for a reasonable price, and do extraordinary work. Darek is a perfectionist who isn't satisfied until the work is as good as it can be. Our house is old so nothing is quite square, but he has been able to get as close to perfect as humanely possible. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company and can't praise them enough. Anyone looking for first rate work at a reasonable price should call Darek.

They were great. They were very low priced compared to other companies. They did high quality work and were very courteous. They were a great company to work with. Perspective clients should do the purchasing for specialty products and be aware of the lag time with ordering so you’re able to keep your project on schedule. I would definitely use them again.

We can't say enough good things about the work of Darek and his team at Chicagoland Finest. They come with our highest recommendation. Darek was quick to respond to our request for a consult and estimate for the project. Since his bids for previous projects had come in lower than others and he had delivered work on time, we had no intention of using anyone else. After the consultation, Darek and I spoke about some of the project details and he pointed out a few aspects that needed some additional consideration (e.g., likely need to patch floors, challenges of rerouting gas line in intended configuration). These comments were helpful, came well before work started, and improved the final project. Work started on the date he promised and proceeded on time until we hit some unforeseen delays in the delivery of materials late in the project. Darek worked around these delays to keep us close to on-schedule. Even with delays the project took only about 6 weeks and Darek finished the job only a few days past our original completion date. As important, he finished on budget. He and his crew were reliable, dependable, responsive, easy to work with, and respectful of the neighbors in our building. The work in our kitchen and dining room is first-rate. Demolition occurred in a timely manner and we were not displaced for more than a day. Darek was careful to explain work on plumbing and electrical during the early stages, consulting us at critical steps. Work on walls, ceilings, and the floor were of very high quality. Throughout the "messy" phases, Darek and his team were careful to clean up and keep the kitchen sealed off. He and his crew were very respectful of our home. We were extremely pleased with work done to install cabinets, install glass tiling, and construction of the new kitchen island. The lighting in the new space is excellent. He worked with our designer to pick up materials, to receive deliveries of product, and to coordinate countertop installation with a third-party. As with our other projects, Darek added a few nice touches that were absent or overlooked by the plans we had drafted. For example, he used a rectangle vent pipe for our oven hood that allows greater throughput and less vibration than the standard round pipes. He modified the cabinets around the refrigerator to ensure a better fit. He also added trim pieces to fill in some gaps in the cabinets and other appliances. To ensure a balanced report, we should mention two items. First, a crew member put too much weight on the floor of one of our cabinets during installation of a wall cabinet and the cabinet floor cracked. Darek replaced this immediately and at no charge, but the new floor bottom is not quite an exact match to the original wood. The cabinet is below our sink, however, so it is not an issue. Second, even though receipt of deliveries went smooth - no one from Chicagoland notified us that shelves for our large built-in cabinets failed to arrive. Again, this did not lead to a major delay and was due to delivery problems that originated with our cabinet manufacturer. Compared to stories we have heard from friends using other contractors, we feel this are very minor items and neither mattered much in the end. Darek guarantees the work of Chicagoland Finest for one-year and has taken the time to come back since completion of the project to check on the work. We are extremely pleased with the final product and are very happy we retained Chicagoland Finest for this job. Beyond the quality of the work, we really like working with Darek. He is punctual, has a wonderful personal style, and takes great pride in his work. We will continue to use Chicagoland Finest for our home renovation projects.

I had a leak in an outside wall that got into the insulation and drywall inside. The guys came out and cut a small hole in the wall to see how extensive the damage was first. When they determined that it is pretty small, pulled out the wet insulation so everything could dry and I could get the outside of the building repaired. After that I called them to come back and fix the hole. They came while I had other contractors working on the room painting and installing crown molding. No problems. They worked great with the other contractors, replaced the insulation with new, and then patched and repaired the hole. Even the painters said it was a great job.

He worked almost a full day. The work was good. He was very good and there were no complaints. He was very precise with his time and work. He did it well.

They did the work on time, within the estimate. They stuck to the estimate they gave and the work was good.

Overall, the quality was great. They took longer than they said they would. The initial pricing was very competitive, however at the end of the process there were some awkward conversations where he tried to add some additional charges, which I thought should have been in the initial pricing, but he was flexible and we were able to work something out.

My husband and I were interested in doing a complete remodel of two of our bathrooms. We had three different contractors come and give us estimates, and Darek's estimate was by far the lowest (he was HALF of our highest estimate.) I'm always a little leery of going with the lowest estimate, but since Darek had received such great reviews on Angie's list, we decided to go with him. Darek is more softspoken and isn't the salesman that some of the other contractors we interviewed were, but the work that he and his employees do speaks for itself. They do very meticulous work and are very courteous people to have in your home. We plan on redoing our master bath in the near future, and we will definitely be using Darek and his crew.

Derek and his crew showed great craftmanship and care in their work. He was very cost conscious, and explained the options and costs associated with them. The worked quietly and methodically, and we careful to clean and restore. Derek struck me as a very honest and capable contractor.

Both projects went well. Derrick and his crew are the most curteous tradesmen my wife and I have ever worked with. Both projects were under the original estimates. The quality of their work was outstanding and Derrick had several ideas to help us with the layout of the new bathroom. I would reccommend them to anyone and plan on calling him for an upcoming bathroom remodeling project.

Darek and his partener were excellent. They went above and beyond what our expectations were. Darek was working with a not so good home job, and he made it look fantastic! Darek was beyond fair with his price. I had 3 estimates, and his was the lowest by far. He was on time, returned my calls quickly, and made sure that he was very neat and clean in my house. My dogs even loved him!

I called Darek on a Thursday. He came for an inspection and to give an estimate on Friday. And he showed up to complete the work on Saturday. I have never experienced such responsiveness from any other contractor. Darek and his assistant were very respectful of our home, removing their shoes and covering the affected room in plastic tarps and drop cloths before beginning the work. They quickly and expertly removed the drywall, plaster and insulation. After opening things up, Darek was able to point out where the water was entering our building and what should be done to fix it. He removed a much larger section of the ceiling than we had anticipated so that we could be sure that we identified the extent of the problem. His price was incredibly reasonable. Not sure if anyone else would provide two skillful and courteous handymen for three hours of work for $200. Once we have fixed the leak, we plan on using Darek again to add new drywall, patch, tape and paint so that we have a functioning second bedroom again. I highly recommend Chicagoland's Finest for their professionalism, responsiveness and price.

It was very nice working with Darek and his crew. They were punctual, tidy, and professional. I thought that Darek's price was the most reasonable of the 4 other estimates that I had gotten. Darek is thoughtful, soft-spoken, and takes his time before answering questions about the work, unlike other contractors I have spoken to that seem to have an automatic "car salesman" type response. I was so pleased with Darek's work, that I hired him to do my kitchen as well. I'll update with a report when that is complete.

This was the second time we had used Darek for work in our house - and again we were extremely pleased. The work was first-rate and the response time was very quick. He purchased needed materials and was very flexible in fitting the work around our schedules. We highly recommend Darek and his company.

The experience and the result were great and the price was better than anyone else we contacted by a lot. The contractor Darek and the sub-contractor who did the majority of the work were easy to deal with, prompt, and cleaned up after themselves every day. The work was done beautifully and skillfully. The contractor provided a lot of helpful advice and recommended details that made the final result better than we even dreamed of. I would recommend this firm to anyone looking for people to work with who really care about doing a good job. We will be using them for a kitchen remodel in 2011.

Darek and his team did a great job. We were very pleased with the results. We looked at 5-6 contractors for the job. We went with Chicagoland Finest because it was significantly lower priced than the other quotes and they had good reviews on Angie's list. I am glad we went with them. They were very responsive to the needs of the project and extremely conscience of the work. They worked with me throughout the project to make sure it was progressing as planned at that every detail was meeting my desires (outlet locations, direction doors opened, etc). The sub contractors Darek hired to do the drywall work did a very good job and were also very polite and professional. I added scope items in the middle of the project and they rolled with it no problem. Bottom line is they were professional, did good quality work, and were at a reasonable price. I would use them again.

As described, there was a lot of work done, and it took exactly 10 days to complete. Darek and his crew are easy to work with. They accommodated any special requests I had, and Darek coordinated the work smoothly and came up with good solutions to some problem areas in the home. They are steady, efficient workers who do excellent work. This is the third time they have done work for me, and I would have them back again.

Prompt, polite and did a fabulous job. I've already gotten compliments on the new drywall and, really, how good does drywall have to be in order to get compliments?! Darek gave me a dollar quote on his initial visit and emailed me a detailed proposal same that evening. Started the job a few days later, finished in the time alloted and kept me informed of progress. I would absolutely use them again and have already recommended them to friends.

Darek and his crew were first-rate. He gave us an accurate estimate that was well below others we received and he committed to a very reasonable window for completing the work. We found this company to be on time and stay on pace. Darek was very responsive to our requests and provided helpful suggestions that improved the final product. He picked up materials we ordered and on several instances he picked up items that we hadn't pre-ordered (e.g., lights, fan). We were satisfied with the work he to to install a new shower, vanity, and sink, as well as new lights and vents. The tile work was very good overall, although some of the work with small glass accent tiles was a bit rough. To be fair, these were very difficult tiles to work with and we would select a different glass tile product in retrospect. The company was careful in our home and cleaned up the space after the job, taking away all refuse and extra materials. Darek came back a few weeks after the job was complete to install some fixtures that arrived late and to fix a small crack in the grout behind the toilet. We highly recommend this company and hope to use them again on our next renovation job.

Work was performed on schedule, despite uncovering a few unforeseen conditions.
