JOHNSON DOOR SYSTEMS

I needed to replace 4 custom doors. They came out to measure and gave me a quote. I agreed to it, and gave them a check for $8,400, which was half of the project. A few days later, I realized it was too much money, and I couldn't afford to do the work at this time. I emailed AND called to cancel - they said it wasn't a problem, and that the manufacturer hadn't started the work. BUT HE NEVER REFUNDED MY MONEY. He gave me $5k back, but kept the $3,400 hoping that I'd change my mind and do the project with him. He didn't feel he needed to give me the full deposit back. He stopped answering my calls, and - after 6 months -still owes me $3,400 for just giving me a quote. I had to hire a lawyer, and am still waiting for my money back!! I don't believe this is a legitimate company, and they should not be in business!!

We spent a long time choosing the appropriate doors for our job. Johnson Doors made it a long and unnecessarily confusing process. We gave a 50% deposit, but immediately after, we realized we just couldn't afford it and we called (and emailed) to cancel. Glenn said it was no problem - the order wasn't place yet, and he would give us our money back. It has been 2 full months! Although he refunded $5,000, he still owes us $3,400 for the order that was never placed, and work that was not done. We have retained an attorney, and so far no response from Johnson Doors

They came out and realized that my door wasn't shutting because the eyes were misaligned. He was like, "Well, to make it worth the trip charge I'll grease and tighten up all your rollers and everything." Actually he also re-programmed my keypad for me. Aligning the eyes was a dumb thing. I thought of cleaning them, but I didn't realize they weren't aligned. To make it worth it he was like, "I'll do something, just for the minimal trip charge." It was $85 or something to come out. They were very nice and showed me how to tell if the things were aligned. They showed me that the key open was disconnected because now the keep pad is attached. So he showed me all those stuff. That was very nice.

They were passable, but they were a little fishy. They came out and tried to pad the time. I refused to pay what they wanted and paid them less. They handed me a bill for more, and then the job wasn't done right. The power went out and I slid the garage door up, but it would not stay up. I wasn't delighted with them, but they weren't a horrid company either.

They provided us with five different bids for the same job with 5 different prices. We complained that the work wasn't done properly and they were paid again. They promised to give us our garage door remote and we still haven't got it. We won't use them again.

Very prompt service. We noticed the broken spring on the door at 2 p.m. and called Johnson Door right away. They took the call and said someone would be over right after he finished the job he was working on. He arrived about 2:45 p.m. and our door was fixed by 3:15 p.m. He recommended we replace both springs since the other one would probably suffer the same fate shortly. Unsure how good their price is as we did not comparison shop, but their service and response time was excellent.

THE MEN WERE LATE TO THE APPOINTMENT. THEY WERE UNABLE TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM AND LEFT TO GET ADDITIONAL PARTS WITHOUT LEAVING A MESSAGE (I WAS OUT AT THE TIME). THEY RETURNED LATER THAT DAY BUT WERE UNABLE TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. AGAIN, THEY LEFT NO MESSAGE. THE NEXT DAY I CALLED TO GET A STATUS AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY COULD NOT FIX THE PROBLEM AND THAT I WOULD BE CHARGED $88 FOR THE SERVICE CALL. THEY OFFERED TO INSTALL A NEW OPENER FOR $375 AND WAIVE THE FEE INCURRED THUS FAR. AS I WAS IN A TIME CRUNCH, I AGREED AND WAS TOLD THEY WOULD RETURN THE NEXT DAY. I HEARD NOTHING FOR A WEEK AND THEN RECEIVED A BILL FOR $88. I CALLED TO INQUIRE AND HAD TO GO THROUGH THE WHOLE DISCUSSION AGAIN. THEY CAME OUT THE NEXT DAY AND INSTALLED THE OPENER. HOWEVER, MY FINAL BILL WAS FOR THE $375 PLUS THE ORIGINAL $88. IT TOOK A LOT OF ARGUING AND A DEMAND TO SPEAK WITH A MANAGER TO GET THEM TO FINALLY CHARGE THE $375 AS ORIGINALLY PROMISED.

THE SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT AND THE PRICE REASONABLE. I WOULD CONTACT THEM AGAIN.

THEY DID A GREAT JOB AND THOROUGHLY TESTED EVERYTHING BEFORE THEY LEFT TO ENSURE EVERYTHING WORKED PROPERLY. WILL DEFINITELY USE THEM AGAIN. EXTREMELY HONEST.

DID NOT TRY TO SELL ME SOMETHING I DIDN'T NEED (NEW DOOR OPENER). DID SUGGEST DOOR OPENER OPTION, FOR POWER OUTAGE SITUATIONS, WHICH I DID WANT.

FRANK HANDLED THE BROKEN SHAFT IN AN EXTREMELY INNOVATIVE WAY THAT PROBABLY SAVED ME A SPLIT-SERVICE CHARGE OF $42.50 PLUS THE COST OF A NEW TORSION SHAFT.

VERY HELPFUL AND VERY QUICKLY. AND GOOD PRICE.
