I Called 3 weeks ahead to schedule a piano move. Apparently the date I had selected was busy for this company. However, they found a time on the date that i needed! Called me the day before to reconfirm. Called 15 minutes prior to arrival. Very courteous. Wore masks. Moved piano to my daughter's house across town in the same suburb, took the piano up 2 short flights of stairs and placed it in position in her room. My daughter commented on how courteous the movers were on arrival at her home! Thank you for the excellent customer service!

This is the second time we have used Happ Movers. Our crew was Chris O., Peter, and Otis. They were fantastic. They are very professional, friendly, and very accommodating. They work very efficiently and carefully. Everything made it to the new place in perfect shape. They are my 'go-to' moving company.

The crew was exceptional and we hired them to do our full move in July using the same crew of guys plus a few more.

They were incredibly efficient, careful, and friendly. Our move went faster than we expected, they didn't scratch any walls or furniture, nothing was broken or harmed, and the guys had an positive outlook throughout the move in spite of the cold rainy weather. Wish we could move more often just to be able to hire these guys again!

The move went very well and smoothly. In the month leading up to the move the staff answered many questions during several different phone calls always being accommodating and explaining the process thoroughly. They sent 5 men and two trucks and arrived as scheduled. One truck handled our main move while the other truck delivered various items to that we were not taking to the condo to 3 other stops (including one at Goodwill). That truck then rejoined ours at the condo to help complete the move. All employees introduced themselves as they arrived and all were available to answer questions as they proceeded to load the two trucks in a very organized manner. I We found all the staff pleasant to work with. They started with a walk-through of the house to ensure all the movers know which items were going to which location. While they worked quickly, care was taken with all the furniture and boxes. I had no "cringing" moments. We would highly recommend them.

The movers did the job quickly but carefully. I can't speak as to how they would have done with a grand piano, but they did a fine job with my upright.

That went really well. They came out and gave me a prequote. They walked around my house with me and I showed them the stuff for moving so they gave me a quote based on the value of my stuff he saw. On the move day they were right on time, they were able to get stuff out of the house that I was not sure they could get out of the house. They were very nice, very professional. I think they were really excellent. I actually ended up paying a little less than the prequote because it took them a little less time to move than they thought. I was only going across town, about 10 minutes away from my place so that helped take the price off it. I think they quoted me $1800 and it was based on the time they thought it would take for the 4-man crew and the value of my stuff. I didn't have any issues at all. I actually picked them because I have asked around and 2 people who did not know each other independently said they were great, and then I looked them up on Angie's List and they had an A rating.

Perfect. The movers arrived on time. They were clean and polite. The job was done quickly.

Best move ever. From the moment I called to find out prices and set up a date, I felt like I had made the right choice. This is a family business and you definitely get the feeling that you are a valued customer. Their entire staff is professional, very friendly and straight forward. They clearly explained their pricing, they charge a rate per hour (rate depends on the number of movers you hire). The hourly rate starts from the time they leave their office in Glenview and ends when they return back to their office. That is it. There are absolutely no hidden fees. During the actual move, the guys were quick, efficient and very careful. In the past, we've sometimes had a random group of inexperienced guys handling our things, but these movers were top notch professionals. They worked quickly and carefully. We will never use another moving company!

All went very well! They were on time, courteous, careful, friendly and professional. They charge by the hour and worked efficiently being mindful of keeping my cost down. If you are planning a local move, Happ Movers is a great choice!

We had a very complex multiple stop move. Happ packed us the day before the move and did and excellent job. The next morning they were there early to begin the move. We started with 6 men, and when they realized it was necessary, they added another man. I've never seen 7 men keep such great attitudes during such a grueling process. Especially since it took us twelve hours to complete the move. They didn't give up when it appeared half of our sectional would fit in the door-it took 7 seven tries, but the got it in. We had only one mishap during the move and they are correcting the issue. I would recommend Happ to anyone. They may be more expensive than other movers, but you're getting your money's worth.

We cannot say enough great things about these guys. They was not a scratch, dent or smudge on anything we owned or any wall. They were efficient, really nice and did the best job of any movers I have ever used or seen any of my neighbors use. We had some overlap with the team we had the first and second time. All guys on both teams were fantastic. They even moved stuff around within the house that when I wanted to see alternate placement of furniture. And they are incredibly reasonably priced. We moved from LaGrange to Lemont and they were fine with coming down from Glenview to move us. They were nothing short of fabulous. Buy them lunch!! Tip them!!! They are well worth it.

Happ was not the least expensive bid we got for our move but we chose them for their reputation and the all-in price they offered. We're extremely happy we did. They were punctual, clean, and extremely efficient. Our move involved two trucks--one who picked up some items from a storage shed and then came to our home to pick up the rest of our household goods. The price was quite reasonable considering it was two trucks and five men. They took good care of some fragile family items. We were impressed at the professional attitudes. They cheerfully hauled heavy furniture up stairs, placed it carefully, rearranged it and even hauled one fragile piece back DOWN the stairs when we decided we needed it on another level. They even moved a glass topped table to our roof deck! Their price came in exactly as estimated and within the time estimated. Since our move involved pulling the truck in on an alley and unloading it, they coped cheerfully with the problems that involved and moving the trucks when needed.

I can't say enough good things about the crew from Happ. They showed up on time, acted with the utmost professionalism, and took great care of my belongings from start to finish. I would definitely use them again and have already recommended them to my coworkers. Their outstanding service made the actual moving process so much less stressful and I'm glad to have hired them.

In order to save money and reduce chaos in our new place, we had already moved most of the small stuff and electronics. The rest of the stuff was already boxed and all the office file drawings were emptied. We called for a phone estimate and dictated a list of the major items on the phone. We learned that they charge simply based on travel time and hours on the job. This ended up being a great arrangement since we had already done all the packing and furniture disassembly. Four guys arrived on time on the designated morning. They carefully parked their truck so as to avoid trampling the grass. They ran a ramp up the front porch stairs and toured the house to address areas of concern, esp. the nice wood floors, and make sure we were on the same page. The guys moved quickly, yet carefully. The truck was carefully loaded and all furniture was covered in clean moving blankets. They were loaded in about 2 hrs, made the 1 hr drive to the new place, then reversed the process. The whole experience lasted less than 6 hrs. We were pleasantly surprised by the modest bill for such hard work. We were very impressed how they negotiated our tight wooden stairs with the huge commercial metal file cabinets without damage to themselves, the walls, or our precious new oak floors. These are great guys who are are very professional. One of our best experiences with any contractor. Highly recommended!

Based on all the hundreds of "A" ratings I saw here on Angie's List, I guess I was expecting better overall service. The estimator Greg, said that most people never packed or threw away all that they thought or said they were going to before a big move - so I said "Fine, quote me like you are packing and moving it all" (which they didn't - we dumped a large dumpster and filled the garage with items to sell. The final cost was more than twice what his origional estimate stated (which in small print also notes that they are NOT binding estimates).. On the positive side - they were quick to bring in more help and trucks, so it didn't go late into the night - but that all added to the costs. It was also easy to lose track of how many boxes and packs of wrapping paper they say they used, and I kept finding 3/4 full bags of paper lying around (even wrapped in boxes moved to the new house), which I paid for, so you never really know if the costs are accurate. Despite asking all the movers not to pack empty boxes or garbage - we still opened boxes at the new house and found exactly that - including one large box of paper wrapped empty shoe boxes! But the items which made me really lose my cool was when I discovered that they dropped a heavy TV (which I had clearly marked "do not move with less than four people), onto a solid oak bed and broke both the TV and the bed, then tried to look the other way. Luckily I had just been working on disassembling the bed - so I knew what had happened when I saw the broken parts. They admitted it when challanged and took the bed prices to be repaired, but the TV wasn't discovered broken until later (along with a few other broken items), which they never offered to pay for. In fact, they never even called to ask how the move went, So I think the owners knew that this wasn't one of their better moves. I can't say they are bad movers, because their guys all worked hard and smoothly - but would recommend you consider my experience and plan accordingly. Overall I would give them a "B", not an "A"!

My mom was moving from a three bedroom house into a one bedroom apartment in another state. We planned on moving her ourselves, but decided to hire a couple of movers to help load the heavier items. I called Happ Movers a little over a week before the move. The gentleman that I talked to was very friendly and helpful. He went over my options, two or three men, and made recommendations, have rope and padding, concerning the move. We were on a fairly fixed schedule since we had an assigned time for the elevator at the apartment building. We only needed them for a couple of hours. He was able to fit us in first thing in the morning, 7:00, which ended up being perfect. The two men, Chris and Paul (I think that was their names), showed up promptly. They were very professional and friendly. They recommended the best approach for packing the truck, so that the space was best used without being bossy or rude. They did a lot of work in the couple hours that we needed them. All of us thought these guys did a great job. As a side note, they do charge from the time they leave their facility until they return. We were only a few minutes from them, so it didn't amount to anything. When I called around, other places did have a destination charge that was fixed, so charging based on time worked in our favor. Also, they charged us in 15 minute increments, instead of blocks of hours like the others would have done. So, if we only needed them for 1:45, we would have only paid for that amount, not the 2 hours we booked. Overall, we had a great experience with them and would use them again in a heartbeat.

Happ Movers were prompt and very professional . They kept everything organized so things ended up at the correct location. The guys were friendly and helpful. Finished ahead of schedule. Highly recommended.

these guys are real gentlemen and real pros. couldn't have been nicer, and patient with a very complex set of circumstances around our "three-stage" move. price was terrific, service was 100% responsive and incredibly pleasant to work with. all items were packed and moved such that nothing was damaged; the guys went the extra mile to help us position things in the new house, they were ON TIME every time and they worked super hard for us. wouldn't hesitate to use them again (though we don't plan to move again for awhile!) or to recommend them without reservation to anyone.

I was beyond happy with our experience with Happ Movers; the gentleman who came out for the estimate was thorough, polite, and professional. I cannot say how impressed I was with the 4 man crew that we had move us today - they were absolutely wonderful!!! They were on time, professional, and really knew what they were doing. They got our whole household moved from A to B without a single thing being damaged and in under the time that we had originally estimated. Thank you Happ Movers!!

First the ordering of services. I was moving some of my stuff out of my Ex's house and called around to several companies from Angies list. Since I was moving over Labor Day weekend, other places either were not available on Saturday or said I needed to commit to a 4 man crew. Happ was available and based on my list of stuff to move, agreed to send a smaller truck and two-man crew. They called the morning of the move to say the could come earlier than planned. When the guys arrived, they were not what I expected. They looked like clean cut guys from the neighborhood. There were no communication issues or anything. We started with a walk through the house where I showed them what was being moved. They got everything loaded and asked me to do another walk through to check for anything missed. Then they unloaded at the new place and even rebuilt the beds etc. Overall it took a little over 4 hours for the entire thing. It was a very smooth and painless experience and I will use Happ the next time I move.

Response was prompt, service was described in detail, cost was estimated. They were by far the most professional of the three companies I contacted, and they ended up being far and away the least expensive. They arrived on the minute, worked efficiently and carefully to protect my belongings and asked at the end if there was any further service they could provide (I had them move a few other items down to the basement.) I would definitely hire them again.
