AAA Lock & Key

I contacted AAA lock and key at about 8 PM on December 23 when I discovered that my front door lock was broken. I was asked by the woman who answered if this was an emergency. She told that there would be an extra emergency service charge of $25 and that Ric would explain the lock price options when he arrived. Ric came about 30 minutes later and told me that he recommended that I have a "6 pin" lock installed for a total of $275. That seemed expensive so I asked about the price for the 4 and 5 pin locks he mentioned which he said would be about the same price as the 6 pin lock after installation and taxes were included. Since I needed to have the door secured, I told him to go ahead and install the 6 pin lock which he did in about 5 minutes. Then Ric told me that he did not take credit cards and that I needed to pay in cash. When I told him that I did not have that much cash, he said that he would follow me to a cash station and that I would need to give him a card for security. Having to pay cash for this transaction is a very poor reflection on this company which should have been brought to my attention when I first contacted AAA Lock and key. When I gave Ric the cash near the cash station I noticed that Ric's GMC truck had Michigan plates with no business name on the side of the vehicle. Apparently the day crew for this company adheres to normal business practices based on user comments--however, at least Ric of the emergency crew acts as if he had license to charge whatever the market will bear. After I returned home from the cash station, I noticed that the deadbolt did not operate smoothly and was stainless steel instead of brass finish needed to match other door hardware. I have since replaced the AAA installed deadbolt with a top of the line brass finish deadbolt which cost about $25.

They were very reasonable and overall the job went very well. They came out and did a lot of work as I needed a lot of keys. I have used them earlier. They are very prompt, they came when they said they would, they were efficient and very co-operative with all the extra things that I needed.

Every went smoothly, from setting appt. to Anthony's calling ahead to let us know he was on his way over. He brought over a couple of deadlock style choices. He did a workman-like installation. We wer pleased with the final result.

I called this provider out to look at the lock on our side door which is not sufficiently secure and to also look at a couple of other lock and handle issues around the house. He was perfectly pleasant and did tighten the screws on a couple of locks but the two handles that were really causing us concern required a specialist tool apparently and so he promised to come back. I stupidly paid the $110 asked for the visit and was promised that I would get a call from Cindy to schedule a follow up. This was also clearly marked on the invoice. After not hearing for a week, I called Cindy who was frankly rude and unpleasant. I was told that of course they hadn't called back because it wasn't an emergency. I expressed my understanding that a follow had been promised but it seems that my expectations were seriously excessive and Cindy left me in no doubt that it was all my fault. I asked for a time the following Wednesday for the job to be done and was told she would call me back. Needless to say, they haven't bothered to call and I have paid $110 to have a couple of screws tightened. I won't be bothering them further and neither should you.

It went really well and was a great service. They were quick, clean and very polite. They were also easy to work with.

Service performed well. Thought it was a little pricey with both a trip charge and labor on top of it.

They made the key quickly and at a great price! They were very knowledgable and gave me information and pricing for getting a key made with more specific capabilities.

They did a good job. They came out and did what I asked them to do. All the keys they made works. Their service price was fine.

The technician arrived on time. We was courteous and professional. He explained the difference between the Schlage and Baldwin locks and showed me exactly how they worked. He was friendly and even spent a few minutes examining a sliding door which I was having difficulty with getting the door lock to engage. He told me that the door needs an adjustment. He was able to get to sliding door to lock and that was very helpful to me.

We went to their store where they rekeyed the lock in about 10 minutes.

They are very professional and they get the job done right.

It was ridiculous. No common sense at all. Do not ask AAA to do work for you if you are a homeowner. They will not know what to do.

I have used them for over twenty years so obviously I love their service!

Their professional staff is always able to solve lock problems. They've done some minor repairs at no charge. I've always brought my locks to them, which save a lot of money on a service call.

I am going to have to hire someone else. Inferior service, did not show up when they were suppose to, unqualified technician, & inflexible owner. The job has still not been done. The job was ordered on April 26th & it was to be done 2 days later (April 28th). The job has still not been completed & the projected date now is May 9th. We have just recently moved in & none of the family members have keys. This is completely disruptive to my family's life. I am have now cancelled out this contractor & will have to go to a new company.

Very honest, educated me and charged only for service rendered.

THE TECHNICIAN WAS PLEASANT AND QUICK. THE LOCKS FUNCTION WELL AND IT'S GREAT NOT HAVING A MILLION KEYS. I'LL HIRE THEM AGAIN FOR FUTURE NEEDS.

SET UP THE FRI APPOINTMENT EARLY IN THE WEEK. COULDN'T GIVE ME SPECIFIC TIME BUT AFTER 1:00. THEY CALLED ABOUT 10 MINUTES BEFORE TOM ARRIVED AT 3:00. WORK DONE QUICKLY.

TOM WAS PLEASANT, PROFESSIONAL, KNOWLEDGEABLE. ADVISED ON QUALITY OF LOCKS. EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE ALL AROUND.

LUIS DID AN EXCELLENT JOB! SOME OF THE WORK WAS STUBBORN AND TOOK MORE TIME THAN HE HAD ESTIMATED. HE STUCK TO THE ESTIMATES. TOTAL [PRICE INCLUDED A HEFTY TRIP CHARGE. OVERALL, EVERYONE WAS PLEASED.
