Description of Work: Install new granite kitchen countertops and island in kitchen and butler's pantry.

Description of Work: We were looking to replace a thirty-year old laminate kitchen counter and sink and did quite a bit shopping around. I did so want a granite counter top, yet our budget was limited. Once it was replaced with whatever material, that would be that, I wouldn't be able to justify upgrading to granite. At this point I decided to shop around and see exactly what it would cost. I joined Angie's list, did some internet searching, and got estimates. I made phone calls and visited four retailers and received four estimates. Two were high and two were close to our budget. Granite and Marble Designers stood out service wise from the moment I walked in. I was a customer, not a small job, which I felt like at one place I visited. The owner Mr.John Schubert couldn't have been nicer or easier to work with, and his wife Donna was available to help us with any design questions we had. John showed me some slabs they had in the shop and informed me that there were many more at their warehouse. As it happened the perfect slab of granite to match the painted cabinets we have was right there in the shop. While in the shop area John introduced me to Ramone, his fabricator and installer, who John described as an artist. Mr. Schubert worked with us on price but again service was the reason we chose Granite and Marble Designers. We set a day and time for John to come and measure. He was on time and walked me through choosing the right sink, which we just love,16 gage double sink, one smaller,one large and deep. He also recognized that one end of the counter would need added support and had two steel L brackets made to be installed for the granite to rest on and give that needed support. The day they were cutting and fabricating the counter top John emailed me a picture of how it looked which I appreciated and made me all the more excited. When the day came for the installation, they arrived on time, covered the floors, protected the cabinets, and removed the old top and sink. One could tell Ramone and his helper knew what they were doing. They worked efficiently, professionally, and skillfully. The granite needed to be in two pieces, and it fit beautifully. John had also encouraged us to get a taller back splash which we love. When they were finished and ready to leave, Ramone presented us with a cutting board made from a piece of our granite. Nice touch especially when this was a small job for a kitchen. The end result is a gorgeous new granite counter top that we love. The first couple of weeks I almost felt guilty being so excited over a counter top, but it looks sooo good!

Description of Work: Select, and install granite in for kitchen in basement. Perform granite fabrication for sink cutout, custom edge and sink faucet holes.

Description of Work: John came to measure our counters. After we picked out our slab of granite, they fabricated it ,delivered, installed and sealed the counters. Quote was very accurate and included heavy gauge SS sink. Removed old counter and sink that we did not want. Protected all of our cabinets and floors during installation

Description of Work: We needed some repairs done to our kitchen counters. I called and spoke with Jon, one of the owners, and he asked a lot of detailed questions about what we needed done and was very through in his answers with how they could fix our counters. Ramone who works for Jon was at our house the next day and did an excellent job repairing our kitchen counter tops. Great experience and great people to work with.

Description of Work: Granite and Marble design was given our name after a visit to a local home improvement show. They came to our house to get a preliminary measurement of the job. Then they met us at a granite showroom and warehouse where we selected the pieces of granite we wanted for our kitchen. They revised their price based on the granite we had selected (we did upgrade). They came back for a final measurement and we scheduled an installation date. I was impressed that they did not revise their price even after discovering an error in their original measurement. They installed the countertops on the promised date.

Description of Work: Our modern kitchen remodel needed modern countertops - a combination of steel and stone (Steel countertop for the island and a granite countertop for the walls). While there are many granite fabricators, finding someone to fabricate the steel countertop was quite the challenge. After searching high and low, I came across this company, Granite and Marble Designers, quite by chance - a very lucky chance!!! Keek and Kim, are a husband and wife team, and an absolute pleasure to deal with. Keek is the engineer - and is precise to the "T", and Kim is the designer - who can read your mind and devise beautiful solutions! They are down-to-earth professionals, who helped me find the right countertops (both steel and quartzite) within my budget, and my specifications! From the very beginning, I received prompt responses to all my questions and queries. The steel countertops were easy, but I had to find the right stone for the other countertops. They directed me to their stone suppliers to pick a stone of my choice. While I visited many of the stone suppliers, I couldn't find the right stone (yes, I am picky!!!). They waited patiently for weeks at length, for me to make up my mind. Then, one day, I received an invitation from Keek and Kim to meet them at this stone place, which was having a major clearance sale. This is where Kim directed me to a stone - a quartzite, which would be perfect for our modern kitchen. I thought, I couldn't afford it, but this husband/wife team, went to work, to make this happen for me within my budget. Keek took the measurements of the slab, and drew out a plan to lay out the stone, based on our kitchen design dimensions, right there in the warehouse. Kim scrutinized his plan, and identified areas where I could get a discount (edges, backsplash etc). Finally, they came up with a number, right within my budget. They had figured out a way, to give me the countertops, using only one slab of this quartzite. Also, the stone was being sold at a discount due to the clearance event (and they don't add any overhead to the price as fabricators)!! An absolutely thrilling experience!
