John and the person assisting him were very prompt and professional, and the job was done in under an hour. I would definitely hire him again in the future.

Very well,, no work was contracted with contractor as we are to near the closing date on sale of our house to undertake the project. If needed , a credit and a referral will be given to the new owners at time of closing for their follow up if they so desire.

John was very responsive (and actually was the only plumber of three who called me back that day). He came out to assess the issue and came back the next week with the proper equipment. He got out a number of roots from our pipes that day. Later that night, the issue came back. We called John and he again stopped out for us and came back the next day to work on it again. He spent a number of hours working on it and was able to fix all the problems. He was willing to do our second visit back for free since the first time it didn't get fixed, which I was impressed with. I think the quality of work was good, he was responsive and extremely friendly. We would recommend him and work with him again.

John arrived on time. He came prepared to do the job. His son was with and the two of them did the job at hand quickly and efficiently as a team. His son found the water turn off when I had no clue. They also left the kitchen as clean as when they arrived.

Called Mr. O'Connell on 8/12/13 when I noticed water backing up in bathtub. He came out the next day and found a blockage in the sewer line. He and his son drained the excess water in the line and removed the blockage.

He was a true professional and a pleasure to have in our home. He is totally knowledgable about all major plumbing issues and as our house was built in 1923-we have a lot of plumbing issues. He promptly returned our call and came out to take a look-explained all the details of the job, and that day repaired a leaky toilet that was smelling up our house, and also saw that the smell in the basement was an underground pipe that needed to be replaced. He came back a few days later with his son and repaired it completely in the time he said and exactly the price he quoted. We couldn't have been happier and will definitely call him in the future for all our plumbing needs! A all the way!!

I had called John to check out my sister's plumbing which was backing up into her kitchen and wash tub. This had been an ongoing issue. John showed up, got into the crawl space and within 10 mins or so came to the conclusion that rodding (which we had originally hired him to do) would not fix the problem. Pipes needed to be redone to completely address the problem. What was particularly nice was that he was 100% correct in his assessment of what needed to be done, he did not do the rodding anyway and charge us for it and that in the end - he did not charge us anything even though he had to make a hosue call. Would recommend John O'Connell to anyone looking for an honest, knowledgeable plumber.

He was great. We had had a very bad remodeler do a job in our bathroom and ever since we had it done, there has been nothing but trouble with it. It was leaking through the floor into our kitchen ceiling and it destroyed our dining room ceiling. He came out and figured out that they hadn't seated the toilet correctly and two other plumbers had not been able to do it. He fixed it in one day and it's been fixed ever since. He was really helpful and answered our questions. He also figured out what was wrong with our downstairs sink and didn't charge me for that.

He was very gracious and prompt in his returned phone call and making him available prior to a showing of our home on the following day.

I was very happy with the service John provided and the quality of the work. John was prompt, informed regarding product offerings, clear regarding his scope of work and met all commitments.

John was able to provide service quickly. We had other work that would have interferred if it had not been quick.

John recommended to me before he came out that if it?s a rubber ball it may be floating just out of sight in the neck of the toilet. He suggested taking a wet/dry vac and removing the water from the bowl and if the ball still floating there it will drop down into the bowl. I thanked John for the suggestion and gave it try. To my amazement....It worked!!! John was true professional and standup guy for not raking me over the coals for such a simple fix to my issue. Pipes were replaced, bathtub was saved from rust buildup (thought I would have to replace a $900 tub), new fixtures in tub and sink. John also came back to fix the bathroom sink from slow drain, which was not part of the original job at no additional charge. I will be using him to replace all the rest of the pipes in the house as the budget allows.

I called John and arranged a time for him to come in and estimate the job. He showed up on time and took measurements; went back to his vehicle and had a proposal finished in about 5 minutes.I agreed to his proposal and we set up a date and time for the work to be done. John was on time and had all of the material necessary to complete the project. His work is top quality all connections were done in a very confined area and his workmanship is second to none. I am an engineer by trade and to see piping put in straight and level with every fitting in alignment is a breath of fresh air. After completion we discussed what my further plans were and I told John I would be back in touch with him when I was ready to install the new lavatory and toilet. He will also rework my waste lines as they are original from 1960. I would highly recommend John on any plumbing project.

When I first called John we set up an appointment to look at the job and to give me a price. He showed up at the time we set he gave me his thoughts on the job than went to his van for a few minutes and gave me a price. We set the date he came with help and started and almost finished the job. He came back and installed a gas line for a pool heater the next day. Very professional and you could tell by the work he did he takes pride in it. I won,t hesitate to call him again!

I called John explaining our sump pump issue. We set an appointment for noon that same day. I was pleasantly surprised that he arrived early. He explained how the sump pump works and what was most likely the problem. He already had a sump pump in the truck. It took all of 30 minutes for him and his son to replace the sump pump and they were on their way. I would definitely use John again as we need our hot water heater replaced soon. He is a very honest man and clearly takes pride in his work and his business.

He came out right away, picked up a toilet for me, and did a great job.

John did a great job! He was very pleasant and professional from the minute we talked over the phone and throughout the work he did at our house. He inspected the clogged sink and after listening to me explain how I had tired to rod the drain myself with a consumer grade rodder, he ultimately recommended that he power rod the drain if I wanted the sink to drain properly. I agreed with his suggestion and in a 1/2 hour, the sink drained perfectly! John showed me the huge clump of hair that had gotten lodged in the drain, which explains why we were having so much of a problem! I liked how John was upfront w/ his flat charge of $125 to power rod the sink, though he did have a coupon available to Angie's List customers for $15 off a service call, so I ended up only paying $110. Money certainly well spent on a very experienced plumber!

I started out with John on a phone call to ask questions about battery powered vs water powered backup sump pump. John answered all of my questions patiently. Based on his recommendation I chose the battery backup. He picked up the sump pump for me at a wholesaler. John does not mark up for the product. He only charges a fee for his service. He did a great job. I subsequently hired him later to install a toilet.

My husband emailed John and he called back right away. We arranged an appointment with him and explained our needs. He gave us a a quote and we decided to go ahead with the work. That day he started on the hallway bathroom toilet. The grout was discolored right near the base of the toilet. John pulled up the toilet and, yes, there was a leak because the wax seal was a little crooked. He resealed the toilet and was done for the day. The next day he came back with the new sump pump that we requested. He proceeded to go into the crawl space and set that up. We noticed that the hallway toilet water level wasn't adjusting properly from the day before's work so John had to pull the toilet again and adjust it, and reseal it again. Afterwards, he went outside and installed the two frost-proof faucet connections for out two outdoor faucets. That day's work took about 3 hours.

Went well. Located the broken pipe and found the blockage due to roots around 9am, began excavation, replace the damaged sections at 10:30 am, waited for inspection and began backfill.

John was quick to respond to my email. Pricing was excellent and scheduled for work to be done within a week. On the day of my appointment, John and his assistant arrived early (bonus!) and completed all work within an hour's time. Couldn't ask for a better experience - will definitely call again!

My kitchen sink had been acting up and eventually stopped cooperating/draining. I called John O'Connell Plumbing in the morning, spoke to Mr. O'Connell directly and made an appointment for that very afternoon. He arrived promptly with his son Chris and quite neatly and efficiently diagnosed the patient and fixed my sink. He made certain that everything was put back in place and that my pipes sparkled. Charming, proficient and quite reasonable -- I would definitely recommend him to my friends. I hope I don't have to see Mr. O'Connell any time soon, but if I do have a plumbing problem, he will be the first I call.

Mr. O'Connell came in originally to take a look at the problem and give us an estimate, but realized immediately what the problem was. He had the proper equipment with him and immediately commenced rodding out our sewer in the basement. It turns out we have a clay pipe, which had tiny roots in it forming a ball. He explained clearly how this happens, and made some recommendations. Mr. O'Connell was very prompt, professional, and so very helpful! We were thrilled that he was able to fix the problem immediately as we were in the middle of our laundry and couldn't finish! We have had several plumbers over the years, but never anyone as prepared and pleasant as Mr. O'Connell. We will definitely call him again, soon, for other plumbing issues.
