DeSitter Flooring

This project had a few major problems emerge at the time of installation and the DeSitter crew was patient and very professional. This project needed to be interrupted for another problem and De Sitter was very understanding and responsive. They returned to finish the project as soon as the other unrelated problem was fixed. The results are gorgeous! We couldn't be happier at the results. The salesman was also very professional and prompt at working with us and the crew and always returned our calls promptly. I would return to this store in a heartbeat knowing that any and all problems would be resolved to my satisfaction. The products might sometimes be a bit higher in price than HD but you get what you pay for and the results are surely worth it, in our case more than I hoped for.

My wife and I purchased Shaw carpeting for our lower level (walk out basement) and asked for the highest quality carpet and pad available as we did not want to see foot prints every time we walked on it. We also were having a runner installed on our stairs to the second floor and into the lower level.The salesman assured us that we would get the best pad available with the quality of carpet we had chosen. When he gave us the price I gasped a bit and the salesman said he could lower the price with a lesser carpet and pad. I told him no as I want the best. The crew came and installed it all and they were very professional and nice - except the carpeting and pad were wrong. I went in to the store with a piece that the installers had cut off in the installation process and the sample I still had from the store. The salesman agreed that they did not seem to be the same thickness or quality and that the pad was the 4 pound instead of the 8 pound I was expecting, he said he would get back to me. After several days I called and the salesman said that it was a manufacturers problem and wanted to know if I would accept that carpet and pad for a big discount. I refused and reminded him that I wanted what I ordered and paid for. After weeks of back and forth the owner of the company got involved and eventually replaced it with a carpet of the quality we had ordered and that was very close to matching the sample we had. The owner stated that they did not carry this particular line from Shaw but Shaw would supply this as a customer service item. They eventually installed the "new - new" carpet and correct pad. It is much better than the original items they installed but still not the same quality that had been in place for over 20 years prior. The owner was sincere and apologetic the salesman not so much.

They did a good job and were attentive during the consultation and install. ?I was a little disappointed that after the job was complete and they were paid, they did not follow up to see if I am happy with the results. ?I am happy with the results.

DeSitter knew their products and were very efficient and helpful.

They took care of it quickly and I had no problems with them at all. They did a good job and I would use them again.

I still haven't received a quote. It's been a month, so now I have to start over.

We went to DeSitter many times to try to find a carpet for our front entrance hall stairs. Tim was very patient and helped us go through many samples in the store to find a carpet with blue tones for the stairs. We were able to take samples home so that we could see them in our actual lighting. Everyone at DeSitter was helpful and responsive. Once we decided on a carpet, they came out to measure and give us a final quote. We were able to schedule the installation a few weeks later. The installation was delayed because one of the two carpets we wanted was not in stock, but we rescheduled for a week later. On the day of the installation, the installers came about an hour early and were done in about 3 hours. The men who did the installation were very professional and cleaned up after themselves. I would use DeSitter again.

They did a good job. Clean-up was good and their costs were fair.

They are business like and everything went fine. The sales people were very distinct and they have a good diverse product line and we had a lot to choose from. They were very helpful. They came and did the installation and left. Their price was comparable and the quality is excellent. We still have the carpet. I did not have any issues with them being late and they had all the proper equipment. They knew what they were doing and they were very professional. We did not have to call them back.

They were awesome and I absolutely had no trouble with them. They came when they were supposed to come and did an exceptional job. They are a local family-owned business and the people know what they are talking about.

They were very honest in quoting and in informing us. Our rep is named Tim and he was extremely informative and patient. He was just very upfront which was really nice because other carpeting providers are not always honest and upfront. I am pretty happy. They have contract installers which are very typical and the people they used were really good. He was responsive. They did a really good job cleaning up and were very professional.

Things were good. They're very reputable. They were pleasant and easy to work with. They were just down the street from us so we used them. We didn't look into anyone else.

I'm just totally disgusted with them, I spent money with them, the flooring they put in is wood flooring and its copping and they claim its my fault that I have drainage problems and they refused to do something about it. I'm really very furious about them and they won't do anything, I was very unhappy with their work, I went to them because I thought they are local business, they never told me that they don't do the job themselves, they worked with somebody else, they hired somebody else so I'm really furious. They said they'd come out to take care of it, I have a deck outside and its kinda rotting and they claim its the drainage problem. They finally came out and responded but if you call them, you would argue.

They were fine. They were just close and convenient. Job was fine. I think price was normal. We did do a couple of price checks and it was right on the button.

Great! The sales people were very helpful and knowledgeable. They allowed us to bring as many samples home as we wanted. The ordering process was quick and efficient.

They were great, really really great, actually. The salesman was very nice, real down to earth guy. He was very helpful, very friendly and eager to help. There have been no issues since the service was provided. We will definitely go back there the next time we need flooring, for sure.

I had always thought that the runner carpeting on the stairs between the first and second floor of my home had been installed incorrectly. We have two landings on these stairs and the carpet was cut off at the top of the first landing, turned 90 degrees and cut off at the next landing, and then turned 90 degrees again to reach the second floor. Therefore, the installation made the carpet look "not right." When this carpet finally wore down, I did a few minutes of research on the web and learned that runner carpet on stair landings looked best if it was miter cut to make 90 degree turns. Armed with this knowledge, I contacted three carpet companies - one whose commercials are on TV all the time, one with a good reputation in our city, and DeSitter Flooring in LaGrange which had a good reputation and Angie's List rating. To my amazement, only DeSitter Flooring was thoroughly expert with this type of installation (for the other two, I actually found myself trying to teach the salesperson the miter cut technique)! Further, I found the DeSitter team easy to work with and very knowledgeable - from Terry Maliska, my salesperson, to Jim my installer. Kudos to both of you! We easily agreed to terms and an installation date and time was set. Jim arrived at the set time and quickly and professionally completed the miter cut installation. In addition, Terry stopped by during this time to see that everything was being done to my satisfaction (since I've become accustomed to never seeing a salesperson after signing an agreement, I thought that this was really going the extra mile in customer service)! The new runner is now installed and it looks great! Thank you Terry, Jim, and DeSitter Flooring.

The installers were great. The walls had been freshly painted and i only had to to touch up two small spots. The salesperson Barb was wonderful. Very helpful and went the extra distance to get me samples that i needed. My only issue is that they were expensive. Only bright spot is that if the carpet needs stretching they will come and do it.

After the initial visit they told us they would call us, e-mail us, or be back with the estimate after they worked it all out. We have never heard back from them. One month has past and still no word, this is a ridiculous way to get work or a good report.

I went to the showroom 3 days after the measure to look at samples. The sales person sat down with me for about 15 minutes and answered many of my questions on types of carpets, padding, the installation process, etc. The sales person understood my needs and was very helpful. I was then left to look around by myself for samples. I was looking for a carpet that had more than one color, and it was difficult to find exactly what I wanted. I finally found a few that I liked and salesperson was able to give me a quote for the one I was most interested in. I wanted a quote on a carpet I had seen at another flooring company, but was told that they would have to call and get the quote, as they don't carry that specific style. I said I was interested in getting the quote, but don't feel that the salesperson fully understood me, because he said he "could" run a quote if I needed it, but was reluctant to do it at that exact time, he told me to call or email with the details, even though I had them with me at the showroom. I was a bit turned off by this. Also towards the end of the visit to the showroom, the salesperson seemed distracted and ended our meeting abruptly to help another customer that had arrived. I left feeling like the experience could have gone better.
