Never heard back to my request. Very unprofessional.

It worked out extremely well. The colors that they picked were great and I get a lot of compliments on them so I am very happy with them. They do a good job and are fairly priced. They have a good ascetic that fits with my town with regards to the age and the type of house that are here. They have very good designs and very easy to work with.

We had been living for 15 years in a house with builder-basic-white walls because we couldn't decide what colors to use or how to paint the open-plan spaces on our first floor. Amy came out with two cases full of color samples, and in less than 2 hours she helped us pick a beautiful color palette, left detailed instructions on where to stop and start each color between rooms, and recommended some painters we could contact for estimates. She was easy to work with; she asked a lot of questions and incorporated our ideas and preferences, at the same time gently steering us away from a couple of ideas we had that probably weren't the best, design-wise. It was actually a fun evening! The work has been completed (using one of her recommended painters) and it looks great. We couldn't be more pleased with the results.

Me, my wife and two young children lead busy work, school, and activity filled schedules. So, we wanted a designer for this large and important project that we could trust to oversee the whole thing without burdening our schedules or stress levels. While I think my wife and I have good taste, we are somewhat design-challenged. We needed a designer that wouldn't simply send us to a tile store, for example, but would present us with 2 or 3 options. This is how we picked most elements of the project - from countertops to faucets. And, if we got stuck, Amy was always had an opinion that helped us make a good decision. Amy was responsible for hiring all contractors, including cabinet installers, woodworkers, and flooring specialists. During construction, Amy was at our house almost every day to ensure every detail meet her approval and progessed as planned. If there were ever questions, Amy was immediately available. Our new kitchen, family room, and mud room have turned out absolutely beautiful! Every detail is perfect, and I never imagined such a beautiful living space would be ours! It makes spending time at home even more enjoyable. If you live anywhere near Glen Ellyn and are considering a kitchen or other remodel project, do yourself a favor and call Amy. She will make your space better than you could ever imagine!

I was anxious to redo my master bedroom. Amy helped me with everything from flooring. lighting, paint selection. carpentry and art work. I could not be more pleased; the space is elegant and inviting. She is intuitive, thoughtful and professional. Great job!!!

Overall, it could not have been a better experience. Amy was involved from the beginning of construction and made the design process very smooth and manageable. She did a great job of keeping our budget in mind and keeping the design process on track. Our builder repeatedly complimented the quality of her work and the timeliness of her decisions. Amy was very conscious of cost and amazingly kept us under budget. We couldn't have more pleased with Amy and her ability and highly recommend her.

Amy Storm was hired August 2006 for design work on a newly constructed home. At the time of purchase, the frame of our house was finished; however, the inside structures had not been finalized or finished. Amy worked with perseverance under less than ideal conditions – we had catastrophic problems with our initial builder, who was ultimately fired. A new builder was hired to complete our home. Because of these issues, the schedule and timeline of work vacillated greatly - the time of project inception to completion was nearly two years longer than originally projected. Amy handled such deviations in stride and worked tirelessly on-site to ensure our needs, expectations and standards were met. Amy went above and beyond the course of duty: effectively dealing with outside sources and articulating our needs to the builder, project manager, and outside contractors. Conversely, she gave us prompt status reports on change orders and scheduling. Amy designed our kitchen, tile work for seven bathrooms, built-in millwork and a walk-in closet for our master bedroom. She selected plumbing and light fixtures, granite counter surfaces and appliances throughout the house. In addition, Amy suggested paint colors, furniture and accessories. A gifted designer with amazing eye, Amy took our personal taste and lifestyle, into every suggestion and decision she made. Thanks to Amy, we have a beautifully designed custom home. We are proud to recommend her design services for new construction projects or the remodel of an exsisting home.

Amy is a true visionary. There is no way I could have transformed my family room the way she did. I would highly recommend her and will definitely use her again. The only opportunity for improvement I have is that the whole process did take much longer than I expected. I think this was due to a combination of 1.) I didn't understand how long some of the steps would actually take (removal of and installation of a new wood floor) and 2.) Amy is very much in demand and doesn't always have the bandwidth to make me a top priority. Still, she is very much worth the pain of a long timeline.

Amy was prompt, set me at ease, and provided suggestions that met my budget. She even suggested stores and approximate price ranges which made shopping a breeze. I have never used a decorator before and Amy made me feel very comfortable. I will definitely be asking her for her continued advice as we work through the rest of the rooms in the house.

The new kitchen looks great. Amy is a fine designer who came up with innovative ideas for tile, lighting, fabric, and appliances without absolute top end prices.

Our home was destroyed by a fire and we basically had to start over. Amy was above and beyond in her field. She was very caring and professional. Her talent is amazing. She worked within our budget and was never pushy. She genuinely cares for her clients and gives 100% in every decision. Amy is truly gifted in design and I strongly recommend her for anyone looking for an interior designer.

We are extremely happy with the functionality and interior design of our finished basement. At the start of the project, Amy proposed floor plans and patiently revised them based on our preferences and feedback. Our basement has ceilings that are less than 8-ft. tall, with portions that are even lower because of duct/pipework. Amy worked around these constraints to produce an open floor plan that flows fluidly between all rooms: playroom, theater, office and full bath. Her design included finished ceilings, canister lights, and visual room separations that eliminated the "basement" feel and made the space an extension of the other floors of the house. Amy worked within our budget to complete the interior design, choosing colors, flooring, and fixtures that coordinated perfectly with each other and were consistent with the style of the house.

She will try to save you some money when she does these. She was very friendly and she tried to make it fun when she is working on the house and choosing colors for me.

Amy returned my call with the hour, and I was impressed with that! Regardless, she indicated she is booked up though July of this year. She referred me to another recommended decorator for quicker service, cause I could not wait until July!

Amy was was efficient, and suggested colors that we absolutely love. The fireplace looks wonderful!

Amy is an interior decorator and does projects big and small. I asked her to give me ideas for paint colors and furniture placement. She advised that a two hour consultation would be appropriate to complete that plan. She came on time. She had portfolios with paint swatches. She listened. I explained my vision and budget. She went room by room helping me find colors that I liked within an appropriate design concept. She answered all of my questions about furniture placement and gave wonderful suggestions to bolster my design concept. It took the two hours that she had planned to complete the consultation and it was worth every minute.

I strongly recommend hiring Designstorms for large-scale home renovation projects. Amy improved our basement far beyond our expectations and, as strange as it sounds, our basement is now our most comfortable room to be in and is probably better built than the rest of our house. Amy started with several design options for our then-unfinished basement, which included a lighting plan and distinguishing features such as built-in shelves / cabinets and closets to help us creatively gain space for our cramped house with a partial basement. She recommended a contractor to help execute the plan and we were very impressed with that contractor's cost-effective approach and excellent workmanship. Amy quickly guided us through the overwhelming tasks of selecting paints, carpeting and finishing touches. She is a talented designer, a great person to work with and someone who I could easily recommend for other projects.

Amy was wonderful - very friendly and knowledgeable. She efficiently used the 2 hours and I felt like, even though the cost of her services was high for my budget, I definitely got a great value for the money. She really helped bring a level of organization to my kitchen project that has been struggling. And she had many low cost suggestions for organizing my space that I was able to put into place right away and they have made a big difference already. I would highly recommend working with Amy and would work with her again in the future.

The project went very well overall. Amy is a delight to work with, she really understood my style and design tastes, and she designed to my style, which was nice.

She is really nice and guided me through the color choices in my home. She has a great eye. She even ordered the paint for me at a discount and delivered it to my home! I hope to use her in the future for a bathroom remodel, and any other projects I need design help with.

Amy was on time, brought 2 large bags full of Benjamin Moore color samples, and thoroughly went through the entire house picking just the right color for the room, trim, ceiling, etc. She also helped us pick out crown molding and made several suggestions on projects we could do that would improve the overall look and flow of the home. We ended up with 14 colors that were hard for us or the painters to visualize, but when they were on the wall- Outstanding! The color selection is so impressive that our contractor, painters, neighbors, and everyone who has seen them wants to do the same in their house. If you want a designer that can find the perfect color combination for your room or project, Amy is the one. You will not be disappointed. Her prices are also reasonable. She charges $85/hour plus a $35 service fee for travel over 20 miles from her home. It took us 2 hours to work through 14 colors on a 3-floor home.

Amy was on time and reasonably priced. From the initial phone call, to each time she came out to the house, she was extremely professional and personable. I loved working with Amy, and I love that she has been able to make our new house a very comfortable home that fits us perfectly.

I REALLY LIKE THE RESULTS OF THE PROJECT. THE PROJECT LAST MONTHS AS WE CHOSE COLORS/FABRICS/WINDOW TREATMENTS, ETC. NOTE THAT I AM NOT SURE OF THE OVERALL COST BECAUSE IT WENT OVER SO MANY MONTHS AND THERE IS AMY'S PRICE AND OF COURSE, THE PRICE OF THE CARPETING / PAINT/ CONTRACTORS, ETC. AMY CHARGES HER OWN TIME PER HOUR, BUT I NEVER CALCULATED OUT HER COSTS VERSUS THE OVERALL PROJECT COSTS. IT DID SEEM A BIT EXPENSIVE, BUT I DON'T KNOW THE MARKET PRICE FOR THIS TYPE OF SERVICE - BUT BOTTOM LINE, I WAS VERY PLEASED WITH THE RESULT.

AMY IS EFFICIENT, KNOWLEDGEABLE AND VERY FAMILIAR WITH PAINT COLORS. I LIKED HER COLOR CHOICES. I WAS PLEASED THAT SHE WAS FLEXIBLE IN HER SERVICES IN THAT I ONLY NEEDED 2 HOURS OF HER TIME. SHE IS WILLING TO ACCOMMODATE THE SCHEDULES AND NEEDS OF HER CLIENTS.

I'M VERY HAPPY WITH THE RESULT. SHE VERY QUICKLY HONED IN ON THE KIND OF COLORS WE'D BE COMFORTABLE WITH. I FELT THAT SHE WORKED WITH MY PREFERENCES INSTEAD OF TRYING TO IMPOSE HER TASTES ON ME. I'M TERRIBLE AT PICKING OUT COLORS AND ALWAYS SEEM TO HAVE TO PAINT A ROOM SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE I GET IT RIGHT. SINCE I WAS RE-DOING THE OUTSIDE OF MY HOUSE, I HIRED AMY TO HELP ME GET IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME. SHE DID A GREAT JOB, AND I'M HAPPY WITH THE RESULTS. I WAS ALSO WORKING WITH AN ARCHITECT ON A REMODEL OF MY HOUSE AND SHE HELPED ME FIGURE OUT HOW I COULD LAY OUT THE FURNITURE AND MADE SOME GOOD SUGGESTIONS FOR CHANGES IN THE FLOOR PLAN THAT HELPED A LOT. WHEN I GET FURTHER ALONG IN MY REMODEL, I'LL DEFINITELY HIRE HER TO HELP WITH INTERIOR COLORS AND FURNISHINGS.
