RAY'S LOG HOMES

One review showed that this gentlemen was unable to be contacted to with some caution I attempted contact, it took me two tries but was able to reach this contractor. It took time but I am persistent and we eventually got a contract signed and work began. Ray was also able to give us tips and hints as to how to protect and work on our log home. This is a first log home and so we were really in the dark as to how to care for it. Ray was very patient with us and answered all our questions in a timely manner. The weather did inhibit and delay some work as this is Saint Louis and to be expected and the application of the outside coating had a temperature range that needed to be adhered to. Ray told us some of the pit falls to be avoided in the care of our home and demonstrated by using a low pressure hose to clean the house and not damage the wood. There were two sides of the house that Ray paid careful attention to where the sun had beat the heck out of the wood. Near the garage the previous owner had use some sort of pealing plastic to coat wood it was terrible peeling everywhere. Ray used a low grit sandpaper and cleaned this up after the power wash and before application of coating. There were 3 coats needed on the damaged side of the house. Ray said that we could probably get by with 2 coats but suggested 3 which we went with on the sun sides. The house looks wonderful. Clean up is complete and I am VERY pleased. Ray is "old school" and a perfectionist which is perfect for our home. Be persistent -- and you will be rewarded. Thank you Ray!

the repair needed to be done in a timely manner as we were seeking a mortgage and the logs had to be replaced for the loan to go through. Ray did the repair and we had a final inspection and the loan was approved. The work was well done and Ray was very attentive to our hurry up project
