Description of Work: Skip started my pole barn in November 2009, worked until Christmas, came back to finish the roof in April of 2010. He lacked enough material to install flashing on the last 8 feet of soffet, so I held back a couple hundred dollars until he finished. Due to a mix-up in insulating materials, the lumber yard paid to Skip to change out the bad material with the proper insulation product.. In September I was given a registered letter from another material supplier demanding payment for materials that I had already paid to Skip Bebout . They were going to place a mechanics lien on my property If they didn't receive payment from Skip. I checked with my lawyer and he told me they had waited too long to legally do that.. Somehow Skip gave them enough money to where I didn't hear any more from them. In the meantime I was walking around in the attic and stepped on the ceiling which was 7/16 OSB. It wouldn't hold my weight as he had used nails that pulled out easily. The ceiling had to be removed anyway to replace the foam insulation that was defective. He arrived in October, about 3 months late, to do the changes. I insisted on screws this time to hold the OSB in place, which it has. I was still waiting for him to finish the flashing. He said he would, so I paid him the last couple of hundred dollars to settle up. To this day he has never returned (12/30/2011) to finish. So much for honestly. He did build the pole barn to my satisfaction, no qualms on the basic construction practices. He didn't seal my door or windows correctly nor did he anchor my bathroom wall to the concrete nor used metal hangers on the bathroom ceiling joists. I also had to seal around the base of the overhead door openings where mice were getting in through the openings. He is still in business today I am told. If you use his company get a signed release of lien and don't pay him all the money until he completes the job.

+ -1 moreHe came out and started working on the deck. Then he never came back to finish. We tracked him down and he said he did not the money to purchase the rest of the materials. We bought the materials and had it shipped to our home. He came back and started to do the rest of the job and did not show up again. We finally got ahold of him again and he sent two inexperienced workers. They started to put up the railing and then did not come back to finish the job. We found that they had installed the bottom railing incorrectly.
Description of Work: He was supposed to put in a deck for us.

+ 1 moreFreedom Siding started our job in September 2009. It is now June 2010 and isn't finished. The front porch remains unfinished, gutters on the ground, no railings, etc. We've been calling Skip since March 2010. He either doesn't call us back, or leaves messages full of excuses why he can't get to our house. He's also said he would be there several times to work on our house but never shows or calls. We are preparing to file a complaint with the State Attorney's office to get our materials we've paid for and find another company to finish the work. We also gave him a list of problems with the job to date that needs fixed that he hasn't attended to despite his claim to "quality" and "guaranteed" work.
Description of Work: Whole house siding, 8 windows replaced, front porch addition.
