I visited the store on Friday March 2 only to find the owner, Phil, rude and unwelcoming. When I asked if it was ok for me to look around, he said sure - that's all you Chicago suburb people do is look and never buy. I was caught off guard and approached him. My wife had just left the store with several purchases and I thought I should what else they had. As I approached him, I was immediately hit with the stench of liquor. He speech was slurred, his glasses askew and he was clearly drunk. I said to him, we're new to town and actually we just moved here from Chicago (not the suburbs). He said well you'll never be welcome in this town, because you weren't born here. I asked his name and that's when he said it was Phil and that he owned he place with his boyfriend. I said maybe I'll come back on a day that's better for you. I turned and headed for the door as quickly as possible. As I opened the door, he blurted out "see you Chicago people never buy." This was followed by a swear that I choose not to repeat here. Needless to say, I'll never go back and encourage you not to go back either.
