On the coldest day of the year, -30 degrees, we were somehow getting water in our basement. To solve this mystery I called Permidt and got a plumber to come to our house the next day. The plumber solved the problem, we had a leaky sewer line due to tree roots and the water leaking from the sewer line was flowing into a foundation crack we didn't know our house had. After he routed our sewer line water stopped flowing into the house. I'm so thankful Permidt was able to solve this mystery, and on such a cold day. I find their prices very reasonable and fair for top quality work. I 100% recommend them, and I will call them back for any future plumbing work for our house.

As good as I could have hoped. Vince arrived when he was supposed to, did a fast efficient job, was very friendly and knowledgeable, and charged a fair price. 100% will use them again.

John was great. Excellent communication, punctual arrival and helpful in fixing two outdoor faucets for less than expected. Would definitely work with them again.

They were very punctual, gave me a 30 minute time window (8:30-9am) which is unusual for this kind of work and they arrived at 8:40. He was very thorough in his assessment and work and supplied me with lots of useful information. They were very responsive to messages on here. The only downside I could point out is that they wanted $450 for the whole job but only $150 for the install so they wanted $300 for a disposal I could (and did) buy for $100. But I am told that is the way most companies make their money so I suppose that is not unusual. But I was very pleased that the price they quoted me was what was charged at the end of the service and it was done thoroughly and professionally.

It went perfectly. It was really fast service and they worked hard to make sure everything was set up right.

Vince did an excellent job. He quickly figured out what needed to be fixes on the sink, and fixed it on the spot. He then helped diagnose other areas of th ehome for leaks, finding the dishwasher leak. He taught me how to drain the pipes and shut off various appliances. All in all, excllent service during a very stressful time, after a deep cold spell in chicago. Thank you Vince.

It went very well. We have an old house so they were able to figure out the problem and stuck with it. They were very professional, were on time and friendly. We haven't had a problem since.

Permidt was fantastic. It took a long time for us to find plumbers that could do what we wanted without charging a ton. Permidt was fast, professional, and flexible. They installed a difficult bath tub. Then they came back and installed a new toilet, shower head, and did a couple other minor repairs. Permidt will be our plumbers for any future jobs.

They were the only ones who were willing to come, they came quickly and looked things over so we could go on vacation. And they didn't charge a full visit fee.

Amazing plumbers showed up at my house within 20 mins of an emergency call to fix a leak under my kitchen sink. I can hardly believe that plumbers like this exist. They came as a team of two. Courteous, professional and efficient! Immediately figured out the problem was due to a worn out pipe/rubber piece that was eroded and knew the exact location behind the wall in which it was embedded. Removed piece and showed it to me, and sure enough it had had it. I appreciated their to the point explanations and their willingness to listen and answer all my questions. And they were SO good with my two sons poking their noses in to look at what the plumbers were doing too! Even got my sons to pass them one of their tools - BIG DEAL FOR the kids. Removed their shoes upon arrival and kept the house tidy, cleaning up well after their work. Will call again DEFINITELY.

After we discovered that our sewer line was backing up, I called a different plumber to rod it out. This plumber then informed me that the main sewer line was collapsed around the foundation wall. They wanted 5,800 dollars to fix it the next day and were pressuring for an answer. The quote seemed really high to me so I told them no, that I needed to get a few more estimates. I then called Permidt based on a friends recommendation. I'm glad I called. I spoke with John, the owner, explained the problem to him and he gave me a pretty good estimate of the cost to repair. Based on his estimate, we agreed on a date to have his team come out. A team of two showed up a couple of days later. They dug a six foot hole in front of our house and replaced the section of the pipe that collapsed. They finished everything in about 6 hours. Digging the hole also meant removing two large and expensive shrubs. The digger was very careful and orderly. After the pipe was repaired, they replanted the shrubs and filled in the large hole. They cleaned up the area very well and better than I was anticipating. Great work and service. I would hire again.

We have a little bit of communication issue. There was one line that has to be rodded out from inside the basement and I had one worker who came out and told me not to worry about it because he got that from the outside but it backed up into my basement so I am on the phone with them again. Now I know I have to be firm in saying they must do it from in here. They have been sending the same guy who did it the first time from inside. Once we got that sorted out, it was fine. They came out and made it right and did not charge to do that portion of it. We had a blocked sewer line and they did the whole video thing and found out where the blockage was and dug them and put a pipe in and cleaned up. They are very capable and very good.

I made an appointment, the guy showed up on time, did good work and charged a fair price.

This is a detective story. We live in an 89 year-old house that has beeen "fixed-up" over the years by various owners. Since we moved in 5 yrs ago, there was a mysterious and intermittent odor that sometimes appeared near our back staircase, both in the basement and upstairs. I'd approached several contractors, handymen and plumbers about this but no one really could say what the problem was. After we had our back porch re-habbed, the odor got much stronger in that area and it appeared to correlate with certain times when the dishwasher was used. Finally, someone I work with recommended Permidt Plumbers. John and Carole couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. They sent a plumber out to look at the problem. It appeared to involve the venting and sewer gas (!) - but I had to leave for work to take care of an emergency while he was at our house mid-investigation, but I felt confident that Permidt would be the company that could resolve the problem. I called them on friday to make an appointment for a formal estimate -- another fellow came out (I'm sorry but I can't remember his name), and he immediately found the precise source of the smell, contacted John, got a price for the job and replaced an incorrectly installed pipe. The work was neat, tidy and unobtrusive -- I really thought we were going to have to tear out walls -- luckily that was not the case. I wish I knew about Permidt earlier -- I will definitely use them again.

We were anxious to get problem fixed because it was a Friday. Plumbers came the day we called, worked efficiently and cleaned up. Drain cleared.

My sister recommended Permidt because of the great job they did for her old house. We live in a newer townhome which had cheap faucets installed in the bathrooms and kitchen that needed to be replaced. When I originally called to set the appointment they offered to come the next day. However, when they realized I would have to rush out and buy the kitchen fixture, I was advised to give myself a bit more time. Very nice! For my appointment, I was given a time frame from 8:30-11:30. At 8:00 they called to say that there were some emergencies that morning (the night before was terrible weather - excessive precipitation) and that they would not be able to arrive until the afternoon. Throughout the morning I was called regularly with updates. When Fritz and Al showed up they went right to work. They were professional, efficient and cleaned up. One sink had a particularly difficult set up in very tight quarters. They hunkered down, worked on it together and successfully installed the new faucet. After I purchase the bath/shower fixtures I will have them come back to replace those.

We moved into our home on Thursday and the basement sewer started backing up on Sunday. I called them on a Monday morning and they came and rodded the sewer that morning.
