Jeff Fischer Electric

We recently purchased an older house in Oak Park and needed to do some electrical work as prescribed by the home inspection and to modernize. I have no experience with electrical work or the complexities of dealing with older houses. However, we needed to ensure that we didn't hack up any of the nice stuff. Jeff was awesome in that he had alot of experience with older homes, but also understood what I wanted to do. He helped me to understand what needed to be done, layed out the options gave me a good basis to make decisions. He did a great job and I learned alot through his explanations. Would def use him again.

Very well. Work was completed timely and as expected.

If you can tell Jeff what you want or what the problem is he will work it through for you. In my case the addition of a GFCI outlet to my bathroom could have been a huge job with holes in the wall to be patched. Instead he found a way to modify thew light switch box to give exactly what I wanted without losing any functionality and for reasonable price. He does need to understand exactly what you want to do his job. He does take a little bit of time on site to think of the various options and then explains them. I found this time well spent.

Had outside outlet that was not working. Did not know the specific problem, but he suspected the outlet was bad. He was correct. Another issue was the power cord on my refrigerator that was recently moved. He reconnected it back and provided a longer cord so I would not have to use an extension cord. He was extremely accomodating to the times I could be there. I missed the first date and he called and rescheduled and had all fixed within 3 days.

Jeff was very responsive, emailed me back the day after we purchased the Big Deal he offered. We were able to schedule a visit just a few days after. He was on time, gave me a good overview of what he was going to do and was pleasant to be around. Jeff accomplished all of the work quickly and everything looked great - and better - works great too. I will be using him to do more work here in the next few weeks as we settle into our new home.

Overall I would give Jeff Fischer an A.

I could not have been more pleased with this Big Deal and the work that Jeff Fischer did. Although response to the deal was much greater than he anticipated, he responded to my contact in a few days and was able to schedule the work very shortly thereafter. It took longer than he or I expected it would due to complications in this old building, but Jeff was able to schedule a necessary return visit to finish up just a couple of days later. In response to questions I asked about electrical issues in our home, Jeff made helpful observations and suggestions. We are going to have some more work done, and we'll be asking Jeff to do it for us.

Jeff offered a deal for two hours of electrical service for $75.00. I got the deal, and was fortunate enough to get to meet him. He took down an old kitchen light fixture and replaced it with a new one (one that was very tricky to put together), and also added two dimmers. He was prompt, organized, and cleaned up everything beautifully before he left. He's also just a really nice guy! I will definitely use his services again.

He determined that it was not the electric source itself, but the lighting system. He was really helpful. he gave me recommendation on what to do next. He was able to diagnose the problem. quick.

He and I discussed the work that I needed on the outside and he had a few suggestions that worked out well. He was very professional and was careful to be sure I was satisfied before he left. I would definitely recommend Jeff.

Jeff did a great job for us. I sent an email on Angie's list and he called within the hour to set up a time to give me an estimate. Our scope of work changed after the estimate but Jeff was able to do the work faster than expected. He also gave me some suggestions on how some items to buy that would help him prior to the work. I will use Jeff again and would recommend him to all.

Jeff performed all requested work and provided suggestions that were improvements to our original plan.

We had a situation where power had stopped working on electrical outlets on one wall in kitchen and and that included switches to turn on overhead lighting; Jeff worked diligently to locate electrical panel in multi unit building and repaired the problem. We also had 2 bathroom outlets that were not functioning, repairs were done to each within 15 minutes. He was on-time at scheduled appointment time, polite, friendly, informative, professional and cleaned up at job site. We will use Jeff again in the near future.

Jeff was easy to reach and was very amenable to come over when it was convenient for me, which was a Saturday morning.He showed up on time, ready to work. He works quickly and understands his profession, so he can quickly diagnose situations and come up with a solution. He ended up spending about 4 or 5 hours correcting things I needed to have done, and I was very pleased at how deftly he handled my requests. I felt I got a good value for what I spent. I will call Jeff the next time I need an electrician.

Jeff was courteous and punctual. Responsive to my unending questions he explained what was needed and did it at less than half the cost of other quotes. And what he did made more sense and was a simpler solution. Professional work and I'd highly recommend in the future

From start to finish, it was a very pleasing experience. I am very happy with the result. I will definitely use Jeff for future projects.

JOB WAS PERFECT, I HVE NOTHING TO SAY!

After the initial joy of moving into our newly constructed custom home was replaced by the day-to-day dramedy of discovering all the little quirks and foibles of our wundermanse. Chief annoyance was the placement--or in some places the lack thereof--of wall sockets and circuit breakers. After talking to several electricians who, after looking our house were more than willing to do the job, and of course include the "House with 7BR 9BA and swimming pool discount", of about 15-30% over what the job would cost to complete. Jeff came out as the last bidder, took one look at the job, gave us a plan outline, a quote substantially below the other bidders, and was willing to start the job almost immediately. He completed the job ahead of schedule and under costs because he found some unused circuits in another panel which he was able to use to avoid buying the box. Of course as we continued to grow into our house, and the kids returning from college, we discovered some additional electrical shortcomings. Didn't bother to put it out to bid. Just called Jeff and he worked us into his schedule when it was convenient for the both of us..

I'm very happy with Jeff. I'll definitely hire him again. He's very professional. I've gone through 2 electricians and of course I wasn't happy with them. When I was getting quotes from other electricians they had too many complaints about my old house, and they we're charging me an arm and a leg. Jeff actually stopped by New Years day to take a look at the electrical issues I had. He gave me the best price. No complaints from him or from me. While working on my house, Jeff updated me from time to time. Jeff is going to be my go to guy when it comes to electrical. I wish all contractors are like him.

I had to go to work, so I left. Jeff went to a hardware store, came back, finished the job. I called him back when I made sure that everything was working fine. Only after that I wrote him a check

I will definitely hire Jeff again to do additional electrical work in our home. He is professional, prompt and willing to discuss what he is doing and educate homeowners like me who are clueless regarding electrical matters. His prices are more than reasonable and he clearly has expertise in his field. I have to say that I am sensitive to negative reviews and hesitated to contact Jeff becausehe had received a negative review. My opinion is that this review says much more about the reviewer than Jeff, especially since they judged him based on how many rings it took him to answer, his speech mannerisms and his informal nature without engaging him to do any work. From my own experience I recommend Jeff with no hesitation.

Contacted Mr. Fischer and explained what was needed. He was able to come out 2 days after contact, was on time, clean and very professional. He explained to me a better way of doing what I needed and finished the job in great time.

Jeff showed up to assess the problems the same day I called him. Since he had to get some parts (new circuit breakers), we made arrangements for him to come back the next day to fix my issues. He really took his time to figure out what was going on with the outlet that kept shorting out. He also investigated and found some wiring problems in my circuit breaker panel box. He recommended what he thought should be done. I have used other electricians in the past and payed a lot of money to have electrical work done. Jeff's prices are very reasonable, and I really feel like I got a lot of value for the price I paid. I will definitely use him again when I need anything done to the electrical in my house.
