The next time, everything went smoothly - i.e,. prompt, courteous service; he was careful to make sure the installation was exactly as I wanted it, and, because of the missed first appointment, he rounded down the charge for his time. I would definitely use him again.

+ -1 moreThe only problem is that Jeff is busy, and likes to group work in different geographical areas, which makes sense. I am a ways away from his home base, so it took close to two weeks to get him out to my house. But, I am satisfied with his work.
Description of Work: I had installed a new light fixture in our entrance hall, but it was not working correctly. In addition, I always have trouble when adding new light fixtures in this 90-year old house, since connections on new fixtures are not sized to connect properly to the old electrical boxes. I had made several trips to the hardware store to get pieces to install the new light fixture. The best I could do was to get it within about 1 1/2 inches of the ceiling. Plus the next light fixture inside the doorway had stopped working when I did this. After hours of trying to get things to work correctly, I realized that I needed a professional to get the job done. When Jeff got here and removed the new light fixture, he was able to get it together working properly and flush with the ceiling within an hour, although he said it gave him some trouble. It turned out that the next light fixture, which had stopped working, only had burnt out bulbs. I also had him do some adjustments to a ceiling fan with a pull chain for speed selection that is very hard to work. He improved the situation, and told me that the problem is just poor quality equipment. He gave me an alternative to add another wire through the conduit down to the on/off switch on the wall, to add the speed control there, if the pull chain gives me too much trouble. I am thinking that one over. In any case, I was happy with the results of this service call, with what Jeff was able to do, and the price.

He was able to schedule with us about three weeks later and was flexible with me regarding the scope of work. I originally contacted him about changing some light fixtures, however, one week before, I decided to have him add additional outlets instead. Jeff was very conscientious and made good suggestions regarding options for the work we had done. We plan to have him return to finish some additional items.
Description of Work: Jeff added a drum shade to our crystal chandelier to update the look. He also worked with us to decide how to address some puck lights in a kitchen cabinet. Lastly, he added an outlet to the exterior of the home for us to hang holiday lights.

Description of Work: I hired Jeff recently to run an hdmi cable behind he wall and install an outlet above a fireplace. Jeff was on time, effiiecient, and priced fairly. In addition after he completed the job I hired him for he also replaced a couple GFI outlets and 2 hard wire smoke detectors. Everything was completed professionally and exactly as we expected. I would not hesitate to do business with Jeff again in the future.

+ -1 moreIt was a little difficult to schedule Jeff's visit as, when we called, he told us to call him back later in the week as he had no time then. Once he was scheduled, however, he was prompt and courteous. We wanted two outlets installed for the exterior of our home. Jeff worked out the easiest way to accomplish this while meeting code requirements and completed the project in a reasonable timeframe. He also walked through the house with my husband and I as we explained some issues we were having andsome upgrades we wanted done. He gave us his opinion on the projects and a basic idea of cost/timing of a few of them so we could budget future work. I would absolutely hire him again.
Description of Work: Jeff came out to our house to install two outlets outdoors. He also walked through the house with us and gave us recommendations of future projects and potential issues with our electrical system. The walk through was at our request.

My brother also hired him to repair a malfunctioning outlet in his home and was very pleased with his service. We would gladly refer Jeff Fischer's services without hesitation.
Description of Work: I have now used his services twice in the past 2 weekends for different repairs in my apt bldg.The amazing thing is that these service calls occurred on a Saturday and Sunday especially when most electricians are unavailable. The first repair involved troubleshooting the malfunctioning door bell wire system in my vintage building, which is a type of repair that most electricians decline. The second repair was replacing an old chandelier fixture, a kitchen ceiling light ballast and troubleshooting a blown circuit.

+ 0 moreRecently purchased quality 60 watt bulbs for a ten year old overhead light fixture. Bulbs alternately burn out every day. Jeff felt the metal portion of the metal base, noticed how hot it was, but since not all that old, recommended we begin using the newer technology light bulbs. He also replaced a socket in our bedroom and checked the electrical box for any issues. Jeff also inspected our detached garage for a quote to run a new line of electric from our foundation . Quoted us on the installation of a bathroom fan in hopes of helping alleviate our concerns with moisture. Jeff was friendly, took his time and his price for the visit and future quotes was reasonable. He did not rush, and answered all of my questions. I will use him and recommend him in the future.

+ -1 moreOur oven and washer were turning off then restarting without any apparent reason so I called the appliance repair people then when they found nothing I asked for an electrical inspection. But he didn't find anything either so we think the problem was the placement of the dials on the appliances and our cat who is walking on the panels rather than a loose wire. Keeping track of the cat seemed to solve the issue. But it was an act of discovery and Jeff was very helpful in working with me and calming my anxieties about my new house (which is 90 years old actually). Mostly I appreciated his teaching. He was a great teacher and showed me how everything worked and what to look for in the future.
Description of Work: He did an electrical inspection on our new (90 year old) house. I had some concerns about the electrical box and the way the large appliances were installed. He checked out everything and then taught me how to look at the electrical panel and identify things. He spent as much time teaching me about my house as he did inspecting. It was very useful. Nothing was amiss so there were no repairs to be done.

It was obvious that he knew his business and was neat and efficient in going about his work. I hired him on an Angie's List coupon special and he got the work done well within the time provided.
Description of Work: Relocated a light switch for the attic area so the light could be turned on before entering the attic proper. Jeff was punctual, called before arriving to provide a closer estimate of arrival time and was very efficient in getting the job done. I will definitely keep him in mind for any future electrical work I may need to have done.

He was very responsive in contacting the City to find out codes and permits required. He was very knowledgeable in the idiosyncrasies of older homes and their distinct needs. Closing was pushed out for various reasons and he was very flexible in setting times for the updates that would allow the new homeowner to have power when needed. Great overall experience for my client and for me as a business owner.
