Keith from Freedom came for scheduled checkup and suggested replacing the furnace. The overall process went smoothly with good communication on the progress. Josh was very professional throughout the installation process and ensured my tenant on-site understood the basics. In addition, Josh sent Miguel the same day to ensure the humidifier was working properly.

Keith called 30 minutes in advance and arrived at the promised time. He inspected the furnace system and humidifier for issues, photographing the different parts of the system and educating me about the need to replace the humidifier filter. He had a filter on hand and showed me how to replace it going forward. I've always had a great experience with Freedom, and this time was no exception...

They were very quick, they take out the old furnish in the basement, they are nice, very great and enough quiet when they did the job

Kyle from Freedom Heating & Cooling did a good job checking and cleaning two furnaces. He recommended replacing the capacitors on both furnaces, and replacing the blower motor and inducer on one furnace.

We bought an older house. We know the HVAC will need both heating and AC repair. We have been calling for a month to redeem a deal - that is still up on Angi's list - and nobody has returned our call. I guess our money isn't good enough for you. If you're too busy, take the deal down. We'll take our business elsewhere.

We claimed two A/C Tune-up Deals for $39 each. Rick arrived on time, and he checked our filters and mentioned that the coolant line had a small area that needed insulation. He saw we had some pipe insulation, so he took some and installed it. After that he went outside to test and "clean" the condensers. He tested them and then took a hose and sprayed around the outside of the units, including opening the corner of one. All told he was here for under 30 minutes. When he brought the bill, I asked him why he didn't open the units, and he said he didn't need to because they were really clean on the inside. I looked into the units after the fact, and they are not clean on the inside. There is quite a bit of sludge on the bottom, as well as leaves and branches.

Excellent. A little late writing review but they fixed the one furnace, checked out the other and replace filter in humidifier. These are my guys and I call them FIRST

Willy was extremely thorough in troubleshooting potential causes for the lack of heat coming from my heater. He progressively eliminated the thermostat and multiple other components before concluding the heater was having air flow issues and had been repeatedly overheating. He educated me along the way about how to decipher heater status codes, what the heater behavior told him as he was trying different things, what he believed the problem was, and what options I had. He also educated me about filters and suggested I use a more porous filter, despite my allergies. Ultimately, my best option was to replace the heater and air conditioner, given the repeated stress the heater had been under for multiple years, its current performance, the interconnectedness of the heater and air conditioner, and the fact I planned to stay in the condo for years more. Because Willy did such a nice job educating me and helping me understand the implications of each option, I feel good about the decision to replace the units.

We set up an appointment using a $49 service and diagnosis deal. The morning of the appointment we got a call from Nick at 7:45, asking if they could change our time to their first appointment instead of the afternoon. We agreed and changed our morning around to accommodate the change. Since they said they were about to leave, we figured it would take at most an hour for them to arrive. He and Pete finally got to our house around 10:30, about an hour and a half late. Nick came to the door without a mask. When I asked if he had one, he told me they only put them on when they go inside, and they would only be working outside, which we don’t have a problem with. The problem is that he knocked on the door several times and since he was maskless (We weren’t.), we were very uncomfortable opening the door. He finally put his mask on when he came into the house to have us sign the invoice. They began by spraying water from our hose into the AC condenser and then telling us several times how filthy it was. Could it have had some debris in it? Of course, but we had hosed it down in the spring. Nick even told us how filthy our other condenser was, which is unlikely because it is only a few months old. In discussing our filthy AC unit, Nick said they charge $69 for the cleaning, which we didn’t authorize and which consisted of about five minutes of spraying with our hose. I told him I was surprised to see that this was considered to be a cleaning because when we had AC cleaning before, the technician had taken the unit apart. He said that was a deep cleaning. The worst part was the recommendation for service. Nick told us that we needed refrigerant for $89 a pound (significantly more than other companies we have called), but they couldn’t tell us how much until they filled it and weighed the tank to see how much was used. We questioned this since he said it could be up to four pounds, which would be $366, and were perplexed about why they couldn’t tell us how much was needed since they seemed to have a gage attached to the unit. Pete then told us it was too cold to fill the refrigerant. It was 55 degrees, and it needed to be 65 degrees or higher. Then we were even more confused. How would they know how much refrigerant was actually going in? This is particularly concerning because overfilling the refrigerant can harm the AC unit. What’s more, why would they even schedule the appointment when it was too cold to properly assess or address the problem? In the end we paid the $49 for the service call, despite the fact that we really didn’t feel like we got a true assessment of the problem or a real solution, but were not charged the $69 for the five minute hose cleaning. It was pretty much a waste of time and money. They did have time to put a Freedom Heating and Cooling sticker on the other AC unit that they did not service or install, which fortunately we were able to remove. We never understand why companies think it is okay to do that. The customer doesn’t get anything out of the free advertising, and it is really akin to property defacement.

They give us good prices and they do a good job. Very reliable, knowledgeable and nice.

Nick and Rick were great. They arrived on time and were informative and courteous. They were able to diagnose the problem quickly, did their diligence by contacting the water heater distributor to confirm specs for the pipes, and fixed the problem within the hour. Great job and I would highly recommend!

Our AC stopped working one night and we did research and the reviews seemed positive on Freedom. That's why we chose them. My wife called them the next morning and they promptly answered and said they could have a tech out here in the afternoon which was great. The tech noticed the fan motor wasn't working and assumed it was the capacitor. He was correct and replaced it. We had cold air so that was that. The service fee to come out was $129 and an additional $216 for the capacitor and labor. He was not here more than 20 minutes to replace a $20 part. Talk about price gouging. Moreover our motor went out about 8 hours later and the AC broke again. This was not Freedom's fault because the motor was a tad rough and the internal bearings were probably about to go. I spoke to a tech two days later over the phone and he gave me a quick ballpark figure for a new motor and it would be anywhere between $550-$750. That was too much for a motor so I ended up replacing it myself for a mere $169 shipped overnight to me.

Just fine all went well … This took place on a Sunday bad time for anything to happen as most no matter what wont even answer there phone but Freedom sent someone right out to help me … Willie the serviceman that came to my house was a real salt of the earth human being … super good guy.

We bought an Angie's List deal. They showed up on the date and time scheduled and performed the cleaning and inspection for the coupon price. No added charges. I would hire again

Very nice guy, gave us some information on furnace/AC replacement, safety tips on carbon monoxide detector placement, and cleaned the sensor. I felt like we got honest service. It was quick and well done.

I have been having my boiler seasonally checked or repaired every year by Freedom Heating and Cooling. However this call was the most expensive and as an Angies List member I tried to use a 10% off coupon from Freedom Heating and Cooling and they refused. There were no stipulations that you had to be a first time customer or anything because I checked that before even asking to apply the coupon! I found this to be dishonorable misrepresentation.

Sarge was right on schedule, took care of both items and gave me some pointers on care for humidifier and condensate pump. He also explained it’d be best to wait until spring to do the a/c inspection/tune-up. I would certainly hire again!
