On time and professional serviceman

The serviceman checked my air conditioner and said the tank was empty after checking it with his guage. He took the cover off the airconditioner to look at it, and took the cover off the furnace to look at it. He wrote up a proposal for replacing the air conditioner and one for replacing the air conditioner/furnace. That was all the work that was done. I was charged for 1.5 hours of labor at $160 and the $69 wellness fee. At one time this might have been a good company, but I would definitely not recommend it now. It was my own fault for not asking about the separate labor charge - if I had known that is what it cost to write up a proposal, I would have declined. There are other companies that would do the wellness check for a flat fee with no labor fee, and will write a proposal for free too.

I had them scheduled within a week or less. They check the functionality, cleaned and overall diagnosed if they were any problems with the system. That price was outstanding. Technician was very knowledgeable and gave me some additional tips. I felt like he was genuinely trying to help me out as opposed to just doing his job. I appreciate the extra advice he gave me. It only took about 45 minutes and he cleaned up after himself.

Fine. Technician pointed out one compressor needed a new connector, which I can replace myself.

They initially diagnosed and fixed a minor wiring problem that kept the condenser from turning on. Before the tech left, he checked refrigerant levels and found it to be empty, despite having had a leak "fixed" a couple years ago by another company. After getting another quote and some haggling, we agreed on a price. The owner was courteous and responsive both vis phone and email The work itself was quick and efficient, much quicker than I had imagined. AC has been running fine since.

Not performed. Purchased an Angie's List voucher for Furnace/AC cleaning/inspection for $29. Company stated I was not in their service area. My address is approximately 18 miles from their office. Had to request a refund of the voucher from Angie's List.

I have serious concerns about this company. First, I have two A/C units for my house because my main floor and upstairs are dual zoned. Both are high-quality A/C units and both are only 5 years old. As I do yearly, I purchased the Angie's List deal to have the clean and check done. Unfortunately, when Freedom came by to service the units, I was at work so my wife handled the service visit. The technician told her that one of my units was 2 pounds low on Freon and the other unit was 1 pound low on Freon and recommended adding the Freon for $200. Of course, my wife took the tech at his word and quickly agreed to have the Freon added. When I got home from work and my wife told me about it, I asked her if the technician found a "leak" because an A/C unit should NEVER need Freon unless there is a leak. She said he did not mention a leak. I looked at the service invoice and no mention of a leak or that the tech even checked for a leak. I then called Freedom and asked why we would need Freon on units that are 5 years old unless there was a leak. The person I talked had no real response other than to say that it is "normal" for A/C units to loose "some" Freon over time and I should only be worried about leak if the units are 3 or 4 pounds low. This is nonsense, A/C units are "completely sealed systems" and should never lose Freon unless there is a leak. I have owned several homes and my last A/C unit was over 25 years old and never needed an ounce of Freon. There are only two possible scenarios here. The first scenario is there really is a leak in BOTH of my A/C units and the technician never bothered to check for leaks and/or never informed my wife that there may be a leak and it should be corrected. Thus, I am now left with the added concern of not knowing if there is a leak in my system and the $200 we just paid to add Freon is going to leak out regardless. The second scenario is the tech sold my wife Freon we did not need. One other thing to note, the day before the service call I was in the backyard and looked at my two A/C units and noticed there were some leaves and small twigs that fell through the fan grate to the bottom of the units. I thought to myself "oh good, our service call is tomorrow and at least the tech will clear out the debris." Well, you guessed, all the same debris was still there even after the service visit. Based on all of this, I have to believe the likely scenario is that we got completely scammed.

Rick was terrific. He came on time, took care of business and left me with a smile on my face. I will not use anyone but Freedom in the future.

Hired them for an A/C tune up, the technician showed up and recommended that we replace the unit because it was a very old unit the compressor looked like it was going to fail any day. A couple days later I call to schedule an estimate for a new unit, schedule it for the following weekend. The day of the appointment comes up, I call them to confirm the appointment and they told me the driver would call when he was on his way. I never received a call and the guy never showed up. This was extremely unprofessional, I understand if they are busy and can't make it out, but I would expect a phone call about it with an apology and an attempt to reschedule the appointment. I will never use them again.

Great! Super friendly, professional, and taught me some maintenance of my unit I didn't know.

My technician, Mauro, phoned me to give me an ETA, which was great because I was at the grocery and it had slipped my mind that they were coming. He looked at my in apartment thermostat, filter housing and fan unit and went up on the roof to inspect my compressor outside. He explained what he was looking for and gave each unit an assessment on its current state. He noticed that the previous owner had had work done and the technician left some wires untrimmed which he said could cause a short if they connected with others so he cut them back. He was professional and no-nonsense. I appreciated his help.

Rick showed up right on time. Did a fair clean up of the unit. We had some water leaking from the unit, since the night before the inspection was schedule. The technical performed the flush cleaning ($75). Outside on the condenser unit, he washed the unit and inspected really well. We were running low on Freon, added that for $160. Overall, the job done well.

Never heard from them to confirm or reschedule any of the 3 dates I requested. Sent an email with no response for 2 days. Finally called to schedule and it was clear immediately when I said I was following up on an Angie's list purchase they were not happy about the offer. I will be requesting a refund.

The gentlemen who visited (Pete) was very knowledgeable on the technical aspects of HVAC. He also was very open/honest regarding what options were worthwhile, v.s. others with limited payback. I obtained a quote, but then was pulled off a higher priority project (roof) for the past 1.5 months. Thus, I haven't made a decision yet nor evaluated the competitiveness or quality. I'll update the review once I can focus again on the HVAC project.

Excellent. It was very easy to make an appointment...they were very accommodating. Mark serviced the units and was very personable and professional. Both units are running great. He even gave me tips on running my air in the extreme heat. I will definitely use again.

What's the parts came in job went well, they offered as many discounts as they can and attempted to perform the job within the task order.

Technician was professional, helpful and honest. Will use again in the future.
