Description of Work: I wanted my furnace cleaned. A service they provided. What I did not need was stories of fearful possibilities to get me to spend hundreds more on services from this company. The serviceman did not even begin to clean my furnace when he began telling my I need this and that, or else something bad is going to happen. |The professionalism was poor. The service man could have explained his suggestions without trying to scare me into spending more money on his company. Something I will never do at this point.

I've looked through the work order for your particular visit and see that there were some issues that did need to be addressed. To begin with, it seemed the blower wheel seemed to be extremely dirty, and it seems the draft inducer was also cracked along with a a hot surface igniter was tested and was showing it the ohm's were high alerting us that it may be time to replace it. In such cases with these recorded issues it is normal practice for a clean & check that we do let the customer know of the issues at hand and also the potential issues that can arise due to the condition of the unit. It really is not a ploy in which to scare anyone into buying more services from us, it is proper procedure to let the customer know what these issues are when servicing the equipment, it truly is what this type of service it is for. We will always alert our customers of any issue with the system due to the fact that the system may eventually not run properly. We rely on our techs not to hard sell anyone because as a company we do realize that rather than making a quick buck we'd rather keep our customers for the long run, if you feel that he was trying to scare you into buying extra services we truly do apologize. The dangers of a unit in this type of condition is a very real thing, it's never just a ploy to make more money. The purpose of letting the customer know of all potential issues, is so they know what the issues can be when more issues may arise. We also do understand that there may be companies whom try to go to extreme lengths to try to make extra cash in such a tough market, our company has been fortunate to not have to take such extreme measures to stay in business, we take pride in the fact that we (as a rule) try not to oversell anyone out of respect to the fact that we would rather be there when they truly need us for their needs. Description of Work: Bought service check for 2 furnaces and one water heater for $50 each. We never had problems with furnaces until AFTER they were there. We had to have both serviced by another company to fix those problems. In addition, Freedom charged my wife $54 to change a filter that I can do in 10 minutes. The subsequent provider changed it on the other furnace for free. I complained about that w/o response.

Hi there, we have looked up the work order and we did notice we had went out there on January 12th to do the maintenance on your two furnaces and one hot water heater. In the event of changing filters there is a cost to it aside from the time it takes to do the maintenance for the three units we had worked on that isn't included in the price. Whenever issues may arise due to us checking the systems it can be very important to call us back so that we can see if there were any issues that we may have caused during the initial call that we were there for. Since that date we had no further contact letting us know that there were issues concerning your system, if there were, we definitely would have taken the time to come out and see if these issues were cause by something the technician did and we would have correct it at no additional charge. Cases like this can happen, at the time the technician was there there he had cleaned and checked all of the systems and had cycled the units from the thermostats to insure the proper operation at that time. There are events that can occur within a couple of months that can cause a system not to function properly, at times parts can go bad even after the being checked by a technician previously. We are happy to hear that you do have a functioning heating system, even though you've had another company come out to do the repairs, in this case where they had changed the filter for "free" you may have to look at what the charges were for the repairs you have had done. Many of these "freebees" can be incorporated in the price of whatever repairs that are done at the time. In any event changing a filter can be done by the customer and is encouraged to save them money, also to save them from having further issues with the units. In your case here it was asked of our technician to change the filter for you, a price was agreed upon, and the job was done. With respect to that, we are not in the business of over selling to any customer, we would rather keep our customers for their long term needs. We thank you so much for the review, and we do appreciate it because we do learn from every one of them, whether if they are great reviews or bad reviews it helps us grow. Description of Work: Furnace went out. It took them two trips to figure out the problem which turned out to require a new furnace. There was some confusion and mis-direction that either I did not understand or they did not explain. We decided to go with another vendor. While I would not likely call them again, they were not without merit. They didn't charge for the second visit because they mis-diagnosed the first time. If they were the only firm available at the right time I would still use them.
