Description of Work: Furnace service. They people who answer the phone are very nice and the service is very prompt. The second time we spoke (because the furnace stopped working, likely not due to anything they did/did not do the first time they came to do routine service) they tried to help us over the phone and save us the fee of having them come out, which was very nice. The man who actually did the service clearly assumed that as a woman I could not understand the furnace and was a little over talkative but did a good job otherwise and it was really nice how he was very careful about not tracking dirty snow all over the place. Overall good and we would use them again.

Description of Work: My air conditioner had not been working properly and making a loud noise. Two men from Freedom Heating & Cooling came out to look at the unit. I explained what was happening. They looked around inside, went up to the roof for a while, and then came back down. They explained that because the unit was not making the noise then there was nothing they could do. I was charged for a service call of $69 and they did basically nothing. Last week I had another service provider (Oasis Heating) come out. The technician asked me a few questions and listened to what had been occurring. The unit was not making the noise at the time. However, that was not an issue for him. He asked me to describe it and asked various questions. Within minutes he had diagnosed the problem (leak in refrigerant). He refilled the refrigerant and the unit has been working properly since. Evidently it was a very obvious problem which if Freedom had bothered to check the refrigerant levels it would have discovered.

Description of Work: They came out to check on my AC unit. The condenser is on the roof and I had explained that it took a 32ft ladder to access the roof. The technician said it would take a 40ft ladder and did not even try to access the roof. The tech did do a quick check on the air output from the vents and said it seems like the unit was not performing well. Since they refused to access the roof the technician left and I did not pay for the visit. Their phone service is good and they were polite but since I had explained what was needed to access the roof before they came out it was disappointing to waste a vacation day to be available for the service.
