Freedom Heating & Cooling

Purchased two Angies's deals to have our furnaces inspected and cleaned. After contacting Freedom, the service was scheduled for a week later. One day before the scheduled visit, we get a call indicating that their technician's wife has been in a car accident and the technician will not be able to come the next day. Instead of rescheduling us within a day or two (which would have been the professional thing to do), we are told we will have to wait 10 days to 2 weeks for the service. As it is supposed to be in the 30s tomorrow, we will now have to contract with a different merchant and ask for a refund.

As a matter of fact I later ended up getting a new unit. I mean, they are not perfect because I think the expense is kind of high. I think they did a good job. My interaction with them was pretty good. It is still working. To improve they, maybe, could not be so expensive.

Very well, $29 introduction rate.. Upon arrival the technician informed me that he was not the specialist for my particular unit. A call was placed, within the half hour the specialist arrived and performed his duties. Was very pleased with the honesty, as my unit is very old.

My letter ratings reflect what they are for each category independent of another. I gave an overall F as they did not provide right advice. Professionalism is not based on how they are dressed and behave but also if they are trust worthy. Now to the details. I would never recommend going with this company. They try to up sell by scaring customers and not providing right info. They recommended changing capacitor for AC in summer even though reading was within range. I called my home warranty company and they sent another heating and cooling company to inspect capacitor. Reading on capacitor was within range and he said there was no need for replacement. For furnace they said the heat exchanger was cracked from outside and recommended replacing it. Also capacitor and ignitor replacement was suggested since it was outside the specified range. I asked the guy if he had a CO measuring device and he said he left it some where and didn't bring it, but would recommend changing the heat exchanger. Quoted $1500 for heat exchanger and $100 per capacitor and $185/ignitor. I have two furnaces in my home. Called my home warranty company and they sent another company to inspect the furnace and everything turned out fine. They did a CO test and reading was 0ppm. They also said no need to replace capacitors as they typically run until 3-4uF. Mine was double that range. I went with these guys as they had a deal. I guess you get what you pay. Incorrect recommendations for cheap price. Stay away if you can. I am not calling this company again.

Technician was punctual, friendly, and efficient. I've used Freedom Heating and Cooling for cleaning and check-up of my furnace and A/C for several years running and recommend them highly.

It was all good. We were very happy. We have been using them quite frequently the past few years. They seem to do good work and don't pressure the customer to purchase services or repairs that aren't really necessary. They work quickly, clean up after they are done and don't really leave a mess. The technician who has come out has been very friendly, too, so, all good things.

I got a second opinion and found out this was NOT TRUE; yes a blade came off and the motor was damaged, but nothing else. Total repair cost $740 including parts. Caveat Emptor!

The service man was very professional. I paid for two coupons so they will be back in the fall to service the furnace.

Everything went as I would expect. Repairman (Willie) was on time, competent and professional. No problem of any kind with the service. Have used this company before and I consider them my first call for HVAC related issues.

We purchased an Angies List Big Deal and scheduled service for our air conditioning unit. Freedom's technician was professional and punctual. We would hire them again.

There was an issue with my AC (leaking freon) which they mentioned right away and after the tuneup completion, the AC stopped working and the line froze. I called them that night and they sent someone to come out again the next morning to make sure they did everything correctly, which they did. The recommended reaching out to the company that installed the unit, which was under warranty. I did and AC coil was leaking and was replaced by the the company that installed the unit and was covered by the warranty on the unit.

The technicians were over an hour late. They installed the vent very quickly, answer all my questions and made recommendations.

The did a good job. I would use them again.
