DANNA POOLS INC

Great company. Have opened, closed, and serviced my pool for 3 years and is always prompt, honest, and knowledgeable. Would recommend Dan and his business to anyone in need of a great pool company!

It has been 3 years since we started this project, What a nightmare. I would NEVER have purchased anything from this Company had I known how terrible this experience would be. Tiles cracked in the first year with a promise of fixing them at the end of the season.....they are still cracked 3 years later, since we bought this pool our filter broke, heater broke, automatic cover never worked right and falls off the track, and doesn't fit right. I had them do the yearly maintenance because there is always something they have to come back to fix. He yells at my wife when she tries to tell him how unhappy she is, Friends take this as a warning.....do not hire this company unless your a glutton for punishment.

We are in our 5th month and still we are not done. From the start till now we have not been happy. Purchasing a pool should be a great experience, A pool company must recognize that this is a dream purchase for home owners, and never be a nightmare. This company has you paying for everything in stages before you receive it......which isn't bad if they brought what you paid for, instead you hand them money and nothing happens till you call and call and call and get upset. At this point we have a pool we love and can't use because it's still not done. My wife and I are in our mid 50's and haven't argued in 15 yrs, since this started we have been either arguing or she is crying, this isn't the dream we worked hard for. PLEASE finish the pool..... PLEASE!!!!!!!! It's been paid in FULL since July 8th.....1 month ago. NO at this time I can not recommend this company. Dan the owner is a likable guy and that's the sad part....I was going to do more work with him.....an outside kitchen, spa and concrete work. I have given these contracts to other companies.....to the amount of $70,000.00 additional dollars. This is work he bid on and knew about...you would think he would want the work and make us happy. He doesn't answer the phone when you need him and it could take days to answer texts....... I really liked this guy and would have given him all this work in the beginning. When you confront him about this he hollers at you, or you both end up yelling and it's unnecessary. FYI there is a clause in his contract that says if you yell at him he can leave and void the contract, but remember you already paid.

Everything started alright...lots of workers. When it came time for finishing touches....zero conversation after final payment was made. Despite phone calls and emails for the last 30 days, I have had no contact with vendor. Now i'm left with a refinished pool that is missing all 3 drain covers (dangerous!!) and all covers for water returns in the walls. Also the new tile doesn't look so new since they failed to provide the final caulking to the pool coping. So there are clear defects for a finished pool that would take maybe an hour's effort and $100 in parts for a pool professional to finish (I am not a pool professional...thats why I hired one)!

I was scheduled to have them come out on Friday May 3rd, I left work to meet them, no one showed up! I called and they stated Dan has the paperwwork in his truck and simply forgot, Dan apologised in a subsequest phone call, we rescheduled for the following Saturday May 11th. Dan stated his folks would be there before 9:30 AM, around 11:30 they showed up. He also informed me that he personally would be out as he wanted to meet as he likes to do this with all new clients.The crew left at 5:00 PM and truly unfortunate Dan, did not show up, thus he failed to live up to his commitment that easily could have made what started off as wrong, a very positive right ! What started with a possible $400.00 estimate, cost $1,180.00 for two individuals and roughly five hours labor. They did open the pool, the retractable cover mechanisism was not working. I was told parts were no longer available thus I would require a new unit at a cost of estimated at ( $2400.00). They offerd to have the cover itself repaired at a facility in Elgin thus the cover was removed. In addition I was asked if I could pay in cash. I advised them that I could not thus they did take a check. I was then advised that that they could not leave me a receipt that it would be emailed, I was then told that they would not be able to order the replacement unit untill my check cleared! I was advised that I would recieve a call on Monday with the final cost, ( replacement Unit and Cover repair) I Called them on Wednesday and spoke to Dan, I was informed the cover was not repairable. He offerd me a deal to relace the unit ( Now $2,800.00) and a new cover, he then stated he needed a deposit and he would send me an invoice that day. No invoice was received On May 17th I called Dan he stated the cover was being made by the manufacture. I began to question everything as it simply did not add up, thus the real reason for the F! After a a few phone calls I found out parts are in fact available, there was in fact no cover on order! At least not from the manufacture that referred me to Danna Pools. I still had not received the original recipt and I have no cover, its gone! You can draw your own conclusions, I am an extremely busy individual, I am not inventing one item here it is all fact based. 6/18/13 UPDATE: All is well! Unit repaired with parts available, new cover installed and a very fair price was paid well under what I was told by Danna. A very favorable rating will be given to the company who completed the repair.

Their price, service and workmanship was excellent. They were easy to work with and polite. They did a great job of cleaning up after themselves.
