The job was flawless with a complete repair and and great clean up. The team at Atlas did a great job.
Description of Work: We had a terrible rain storm in October and took water in our basement. We had the typical hydrostatic pressure and seepage. The person of contact for the company was someone that we had done a little crack repair with in basement last year. His name was STEVE. Steve did a great job of explaining the needed repair and worked hard to help us get the job started right away and planned the process. As most people feel this job was big and when ever someone tear your basement apart hesitation exist. One we got the quote and went with the company Steve and his scheduling team set up out time and arrived as promised. They placed drain tile in the crawl and main floor and repaired the floor with minimum mess. They were considerate of our property and John who was our lead did a great job of respecting our landscaping.

The crew came out on an extremely hot day to dig 3 holes by hand down to the footers, then install the membrane, etc. All of the guys were very nice and hard working, but the work area was left messy and more importantly, the membrane was very visible and I wasn't sure if the cracks in the foundation had been repaired properly. When I called with my concerns, everyone at Atlas was extremely responsive, professional and quick to remedy the situation - too quick in fact, as the quick remedies did not solve my concerns. Wil and Rick were the final problem solvers (although I truly appreciated everyone's efforts) and they thoroughly explained the process and what I should expect from the repairs. Just one week later Rick and Tom re-dug one area to do a wider repair, covered the membrane so it was not only more visually appealing, but also contributed further to the waterproofing and per Wil's offering, added top soil to the area (a nice gesture). Certainly a job that goes smoothly is the ideal, but I am very happy that when things were not as I had expected, the entire Atlas team was so willing to resolve my concerns. For this reason and the final job completion results, I would work with Atlas again. A special thanks to everyone for their patience, responsiveness and good work. Just wanted to add that I initially gave Atlas a "B" for quality and professionalism only because of the initial work (and even that should have been a B+) - the final job completion and everyone involved after the initial work were truly an A+. I am changing the rating b/c I know how important reviews are and Atlas certainly deserves an A all around.

They were terrific. They showed up on time and got right to work. They clearly knew what they were doing. When they dug down below the basement floor near the main sewer line they discovered that the down stack had separated away from the sewer line. They worked around this and kept the project going while I contacted plumbers to fix the problem. Then they came back out to finish up once the plumbers were done. They did a great job and the basement looks terrific now and everything is up to code.

Working with Atlas was a very unpleasant experience. I contacted them in August 2014 for a major structural problem with my house. The work entailed repairing my foundation, tuckpointing, and concrete work. I made it clear that I wanted them to take responsibility for the entire job. They arranged that and got me contracts for their work plus contracts from two companies for the tuckpointing and the concrete. I was in a hurry to get the work done and it wasn't until they finally showed up in December that they told me the work wouldn't be completed until the spring. They did their portion of the work and left a mess of my yard with the shrubs left to die lying in the yard. When they actually lifted the house I was onsite and told to say when I wanted them to stop lifting. I couldn't believe they were asking me as I assumed that I hired them as experts. I was told that homeowners often decide how far to go because there is a trade off between leveling the foundation and creating cracks inside the house. I would strongly suggest that while the house is being lifted is not the first time you should discuss this with the homeowner - and relying on a complete amateur is ridiculous. When they finished their piece of the work they demanded full payment and I told them that I had contracted for the entire job, not just their portion. They pointed to the "small print" of the contract, which did indeed contradict our verbal agreement. They told me that they would sue me if I didn't pay immediately. I paid. I also told the owner that I would express my dissatisfaction on Angie's List, and again, he said he would sue me if I did so. I simply said that it's completely within my rights to tell the truth, which I have done here. I would never, ever work with Atlas again.

Response from Atlas Restoration LLC
[Member name removed] agreed to a contract of approximately $30,000. He provided a deposit of 25% and as a courtesy our representative referred [Member name removed] to 2 subcontractors. Upon completion of the work [Member name removed] refused to pay saying that the project was not complete because his contractors (who we referred and he had separate contracts with) had not finished their respective work. I explained to [Member name removed] that our contract was due on completion and that he had separate contracts with the other contractors and he still refused to pay. I explained to [Member name removed] that our contract was clear and payment was due upon completion. After much discussion I told [Member name removed] that we have a remedy and it is a mechanics lien and that we will file a lien before our lien rights expire. There was no threat to sue at any time. I just explained to [Member name removed] what our legal rights were and that he should pay the balance for the amount that he agreed to pay in the contract. He eventually agreed to pay his bill if we agreed to leave 1000 unpaid until his contracts were completed with his contractors. We agreed to this arrangement as a courtesy. We have lifted thousands of homes and no client has ever complained about working with us during the lifting process. Because there can be additional cosmetic damage during the lift we ask that the owner be present at this stage of the project. Some clients do not care if there is additional drywall cracking or some added tuck pointing work in the course of leveling the structure. However there are other clients that would rather not get the building perfectly level and minimize the amount of cosmetic damage. This is why we ask that owners to be present. We are not looking for the opinion of an amateur as [Member name removed] suggested in determining how much to lift. We are just asking for his posture as it relates to potential cosmetic work that may be needed as a result of the lift. The bushes he mentions were left at the curb for disposal by the municipal trash collector as is common practice.

They found that their were cracks in the foundation. The first bid they gave me was for a permanent fix to completely restructure the foundation to rid the foundation of all cracks. It was an extremely high price and out of the range I was looking for. The person that came out for the inspection then assured me that it is very common to have cracks in the foundation and gave me a far less expensive alternative to repair the cracks and to stabilize the area. The estimate for that was fair.

From initial call for an estimate, home visit with estimator, time frame awaiting service to be done and finally the end result - fantastic. Attentive appointment maker, knowledgeable estimator, courteous calls to remind of service pending, professional workmanship day of service. Couldn't have asked for better service. The best part was our recent rain storms that put our basement to the test 8 months after waterproofing/crack repair. No water anywhere in the basement. Thank you Atlas! We have referred others to your service.

We were in the process of selling our home and the inspection had identified some beam and joist issues in the crawl space. We had Atlas Restoration, among several other providers, come out to submit a bid. The Atlas Restoration bid was extremely competitive and they were able and willing to work in the extremely tight time frame we had to provide the buyer with proof of completion. They went above and beyond to work with us throughout the process, completing it in 2 days even though it meant keeping the crew there a bit later one day - and Rick, our site manager, even met with the buyer and the buyer's inspector to walk them through the work that was completed. (The inspector reported that the work looked great!) From the beginning to the end, Atlas Restoration was great to work with - a huge thanks to Gary, Rick, Cookie, Stacy and all of the others at Atlas Restoration who helped complete the project.

Repair tech called and asked if he could come before the time window they gave me! Was helpful to me so I didn't have to sit around for two extra hours. Fixed the problem and was in and out in about an hour. Happy with the repair. Probably won't know until the Spring when it rains a lot if it's going to leak again, but I know they will come back out if I have a problem.
Description of Work: Provider came as requested to check out what was causing water in our crawl space. Just as all the other estimates I got stated, we have a crack on the side of our foundation. Repair required them to go in the crawl and fill the crack.

It went very well and I would rate them a 10/10. They did a good job and they did what they said they were going to do. They stuck to the word of the contract. They were courteous and professional. It is foundation work and so it’s not really something that I can see, but I guess they were professional and stuck to the terms of the contract. They were competitive in terms of pricing.

Found Atlas on angies list and had them come out for a quote along with 2 other companies. Atlas had the best price and availability for repair dates. We have had very heavy rain since the repairs were completed and not a drop of water. What most impressed me was a small discrepancy on a spot in the basement that was not repaired. I called the next day and they did not even question me, just sent out the crew that same day.

Josh of Atlas Restoration arrived early, examined our issue, and made our (small) agreed on repair. However Atlas charged for more work than was actually done (based on their original phone quotation). When I called Atlas (going to three different Atlas people), they listened to my issues of being over charged for work not done, and made needed adjustments that Restoration's manager and I agreed on. The thing now is that I will always come back to ATLAS when in need, and will refer my neighbors and friends to ALAS as a provider of high quality work and a high level of professionalism. They very much appreciate the value of a "Customer". And, I appreciate that.

The team showed up on time and worked quickly. All went smoothly with the scheduling and work. After having water in our basement on several occasions, and getting three different approaches (and costs) to remedy the water problems we chose to use Atlas restoration who had the most cost effective approach and offered the least destructive and most conservative approach to start with. We waited to repair the damage in the basement from the previous flooding and after several hard rains saw no water in the basement. We proceeded with the repairs to the basement and after all of the hard rains we've had so far this year, especially this summer, we have see no evidence of water in the basement at all.

I solicited quotes from three companies. One quote did not include straightening the wall which didn't seem to be an acceptable engineering solution. When I had Atlas and the remaining competitor re-quote the project using the identical scope of work, Atlas was about 3% lower cost but also offered other advantages. The competitor required me to apply for the village permits and I would be responsible for scheduling and being present for the inspections without the contractor's presence. Atlas took care of everything. The competitor's warranty was five years less than Atlas and they wrote a ranting email that was completely unprofessional when I asked them to meet the warranty period I negotiated with Atlas. I decided I could not possibly be comfortable engaging in an expensive and sensitive project with the competitor. At the first preconstruction planning meeting with Atlas I became apprehensive with their customer service. However, the following week I met with their senior management team and I had a totally positive experience from that point forward. During the seven day construction period everyone from the laborers to the management team could not have been more professional, attentive to all the details involved in this complex project, and accommodating to my needs. They did everything they said they would do plus more at no additional charge. They communicated their goals at the beginning of the day, the status at the day's conclusion and regular updates in between. Without exception, their team exhibited exceptional service and I could not have been more satisfied with the result. They even swept and power washed the street when they were finished leaving it cleaner than before they arrived. Nobody wants to spend $20k on home repairs, but if it becomes necessary you want to work with a company like Atlas. Exceptional quality and service at a competitive price.
Description of Work: One basement foundation wall was tilted 3.5" from the sill to the floor. The scope of work was to excavate about 3' wide X 7' deep X 28' long down to the drain tile, lift the house to remove the weight from the foundation wall, push the wall to straighten, place a full waterproof membrane on the outside of the wall, backfill with stone instead of clay, install a steel stud system along the inside wall tied into the joists and concrete floor for bracing, reseal all the previous cracks inside and out, and add an underground downspout extension.

Assessed our basement for leaks after our torrential downpour 4 days previously.. He thoroughly viewed possible entries from outside house including gutters, down spouts, window wells. etc. Used outside hoses to determine entry. He located small crack in window well and gave us directions re how to address/solve problem. A simple solution to what could have been very complex and expensive! Jason was outstanding! Overall, they were great. We did have to have them back not once, but twice again. The first time was due to the fact that we found a new crack after we closed up the basement again including drywall, paint and carpeting. The second time was due to the fact the one of their cracks leaked. We think there is movement in the wall so we do not blame Atlas for this. It's the house. We would have them back again.

We used Atlas and they were very good. The system that they used appeared to be the best engineered. They came in with a pipe and started to use a hydraulic ram and push it down into the ground until it offered specific resistance then they put an L-bracket on it strolling around underneath the foundation, tightened it to the lifting device and put another grand jet and when they started to raise the house until the crash closed up in the level in a certain way.
