Made appointment quickly, arrived right on time, cleaned chimney and dryer vent quickly with no mess. Having him back to replace the dryer exhaust hose and exterior housing.

We agreed on a price and I signed his contract and had a date set up to do the job, but I haven't heard anything back from the them since. I requested the workers comp insurance information before anything went further and that was the last I heard from him.

The fireplace had never been used until I moved in. After a winter's use and 50 years of God only knows what, a cleaning seemed like a good idea. He did the work and the house was spotless when he left.

George is a very pleasant person to work with. He showed up on time, sent estimates promptly, finished the work in the 3 days originally planned, despite some challenges with the old chimney, which was falling apart from the inside. The work area was left clean, including between days on the job. We were able to be in the house during the work, and could hardly tell they were there, most of the time. We are very happy with the work and will definitely use them again for cleanings, and any repairs that come up in the future.

The work was done quickly and professionally. There was no mess following the cleaning process. They also gave us good advice on how much hardwood could be burned before the next cleaning.

This is the first fireplace we've owned. Obiously there were things about owning a fireplace we weren't aware of. We have lived in this house 5 1/2 years and have had one other company prior to ASHES NO FLASHES come out to clean. That was 2 years ago. The reason I mention this fact is the major difference between the 2 companies. When ASHES NO FLASHES arrived they were on time and the first thing they did was spread tarps on the foyer floor and the floor around the fireplace. Not so with the first company. They thoroly cleaned the fireplace, the chimney AND the gas logs. They also put down a layer of sand before arranging the logs properly. The first company did not put down sand nor did they clean the gas logs. When the cleaning was finished - George (the owner) talked to us about a couple of things that would need follow-up. One of those things is the chimney cap. He explained we needed 3 inches of concrete for the top of the chimney. He explained why and also assured us it wasn't something that needed to be done right away and could actually wait 3-4 years. The difference between ASHES NO FLASHES and the first company was huge. Both companies were aware that we are novices when it comes to fireplaces. The first company took advantage of that fact and cleaned only the chimney and then didn't do a very good job. ASHES NO FLASHES not only did a beautiful job but they took the time to explain things to us. When it comes to future work that needs to be done the, fact that it didn't have to happen right away convinced us it was a necessity not a sales pitch. Obviously we are very pleased with the work that was done and will definitely hire them again.

If there was an A+ rating, I would give it. My husband and I recently purchased a home that had been neglected, and we have been hiring a lot of contractors for various work. We have been disappointed with the professionalism, punctuality, integrity and quality of work of the majority of the contractors we've encountered, which is why we found Ashes No Flashes to be such a breath of fresh air! George was on time, conscientous, honest, careful, etc. I feel he went above and beyond, and I would not hesitate to recommend him to a friend.

I think they did a very good job. George, the fellow who owns the business, explained things, was very meticulous, and was careful about being clean. It was a pleasant experience.

Everything went well. They were excellent. I felt like I was dealing with someone who was very experienced. He was honest about how long everything would take and he stuck to his schedule.

He was very personable and seemed to know what he was doing. I had three other companies out before him and they weren't able to locate the problem, but he was able to fix it right away. He was very conscientious and if he was not able to come out due to weather, he always called to let me know. I was happy with the price I paid for his work.

George was the first person to return my request for pricing. He inspected the chimney and left a quote within 24 hours-then performed the work as advertised for a fair price the next week. Positive experience, give them a call.

We had another bid for our chimney repair that was so outrageously expensive, that we contacted George (as a referral) for another bid. George recommended the appropriate repairs without going overboard on things that we really didn't need to do. He also provided/recommended the conversion to a gas fireplace as an alternative to the other costly repairs on a very old and much used chimney. He and his assistant were prompt and courteous. They left our house as clean as when they came in. George provided us with all of the information we need on the installation and how to operate our new gas log set.

George Witt was really good! He was a very nice guy and was very professional in his work. He cleaned up after himself and his work was great!

Ashes No Flashes were on time and performed excellent work. They did a very thorough job of cleaning the chimney and were very professional. I think this is a highly qualified business and am surprised they aren't already on Angie's List. I was completely satisfied.
