hardwood floor
+ -1 moreThe entire time took 8 hours, which they stated at the beginning. I would recommend Rick Warman's Flooring America any time. The company also stated that if there were any problems, simply call the store.
Description of Work: Re sanded the oak wood floor that another contractor screwed up. They arrived on time, explained what they were going to do, and the time it would take and cautions regarding the true finishing time. They used a dustless system to sand and finish the floors. The floor was stained, and sealed the floor in two applications.

+ 0 moreAs Rick, Owner, got back to his Crete office, he called and said my credit card would not process the $260.00. I then called my bank and they told me the reason they wouldn't honor my check was the MERCHANT WAS FRAUDULENT. I then called Rick Warman's office back and cancelled the entire process.
Description of Work: I had the owner, Rick come out to the house and measure for the carpet repairs I wanted. It was a very small job, the cost was not a big issue. As Rick, Owner was wrapping up the written estimate, he asked me for the total repair cost before anything was done. I reluctantly gave him my credit card number and we said good bye. I scheduled installation for the upcoming Wednesday and we were finished with the initial consultation before any work was done.

+ -1 moreAfter I made my selection, Rick came out on 9/4/12 to measure. While he was measuring the downstairs bathroom, he told me that the vinyl baseboard would be the same as the floor and I said that would really look sharp. I didn't catch what he was putting down in the contract before I signed it, he tells you one thing and writes something else in the contract that unfortunately I didn"t catch. Raphael came out on 9/26/12, they were in fact 10 minutes early. Did a great job up stairs, but when I went downstairs and saw the vinyl baseboard that was installed, it was not what I expected. I got on the phone with Rick, we had words and he said that he would swap it out. I am not pleased with Rick at all and I won't do business with him again.
Description of Work: I had 2 bathroom floors done. The upstairs I had laminate flooring done and they had to replace some boards around the toilet. The downstairs bathroom I had vinyl flooring done and baseboard replaced.

+ -1 moreSpoke first with Brian who showed me the different types of flooring and answered many questions that I had. He was very helpful. After I decided what I wanted, Rick Warman came out to the house to take measurements and explain how the installation would be handled. The installers kept everything neat and clean while they worked. Everyone involved was very professional. We are very pleased with their work and the look of our floors. They look just like hardwood floors but are so much more durable. We have a large dog and durability is very important.
Description of Work: Wood laminate flooring throughout the main level and also the family room with the stairs leading down to it. Their services also included the removal of ceramic flooring in the kitchen, hallway & foyer. New wood molding around the floors was also installed.

+ 1 moreWe needed to replace old carpeting and an old ceramic tile floor that was falling apart. The carpet installers did a great job and completed the whole project in one day. They put in extra effort to make sure the old closet doors were rehung correctly and worked properly. Bill and Jeremy came out to do the tile and they were considerate, worked hard, and showed great attention to detail including removing the old radiators so they could do a better job of tiling. They also removed 2 old layers of flooring to get down to the original floor and do the job correctly. The owner, Rick, was also instrumental in helping us pick out colors and styles that go beautifully with our house. All of this combined to leave us very happy with the end results.
Description of Work: Removed old and installed new carpeting in walk up attic, bedroom, and basement. Removed old and installed new ceramic floor in kitchen and hallway.

+ -1 moreArrived day and time agreed upon. Installed new carpet and took away old padding and carpet. Also replaced some damaged tiles in kitchen and restretched carpeting in another bedroom. Did good work. My husband and I were upset that all the workers were Mexican and we were being charged premium prices. Can't believe that there are not excellent American tradesmen available. This is a deal breaker for us.

I did search around for competing estimates and they had the best estimate. They also look like a company that does good work and their product looks just like wood. Their responsiveness is what really impressed me, they were always on time and will be finishing the job early. In terms of professionalism, the entire crew has been very professional and the saleswomen was very helpful. I would recommend them to others.

+ 0 moreI had an emergency in my basement. I found this company on Angie's list. I called and within a few hours Rick was at my house to give me an estimate. He gave me options and helped me select the right ones for me. All service happened when promised and the end result my basement looked like new.
Description of Work: I had flood damage in the finished basement. The water had been removed but the padding was damaged. Flooring America replaced all the padding and relaid the old carpet. It required them to stretch and cut the carpet. They did an excellent job. There was also a lot of furniture that had to be put back in place.

+ 0 moreMixed results- great flloor and value, the repairs I have to do myself now (paint and fix door) are a real bummer.
Description of Work: I have mixed feelings on this company. Rick was great- he came out and gave me an estimate. I then went to the store to choose the hardwood flooring. Rick showed me various types from expensive to affordable. I chose an expensive one that was on clearance. I really appreciated and needed the layaway that they gave me, and left it open-ended as far as how I could pay that (it took several months) The problem came with the installation. They did a good job as far as installing the floor correctly, but did not clean up very well. (They dumped the old carpet on the frontt stairs and did not move furniture back for the most part where it should go) I asked that they move the carpet to the curb which they did. After they left for the final day I noticed large scrapes in the wood and paint on the front and closet door . Also, the door to the closet in one bedroom was off completely the roller and on the ground. I tried to call the office but didn't get satisfactory answers, I feel the real problem is a disconnect between the company and the people who actually do the installation. I voiced a concern about this to Rick prior to installation but he told me not to worry all workers were drug tested and had a background check. I appreciate that of course, but they were sloppy in some areas and worse, did not tell me my door was broken or about the paint and wood issues.

After my wife selected the carpet, Rick met me at my property and after he completed his measurements he gave me an estimate of what the job would cost. On 04-16-11 his crew arrived on time and completed the job on time. I was pleased that Rick and his crew completed this job on time. Now I am able to start screening potential tenants.

+ -1 morefirst the samples that I had already seen at their store was brought to my house to see how it would look in my house, then an agreed date was set and not broken before that their sanitizer man came and he discovered that I had not had everything removed from the floor as it shouldn''t been so he helped me out, gave me more time and changed up his schedule so I could meet the schedule of the floor installers. he was a very kind person. The installers came at scheduled time, said it would take 2 days, returned the next day and completed their job and it ios beautiful!
Description of Work: analyzing the type of quality material that best fit my needs inside of my budget. now how immprotant is that!they conferenced with me and consulted with me a few times before starting, so by the time they started I was well aware of what they were doing and how they were going to do it. they detailed me who long it was going to take. and it didn't take a day past that time. I had a flood in my walk out basement and all my engineered wood had to be taken up, so after my floor had been dried,they suggested that it be treated and sanitized and that was included in the cost, and they strongly suggested that it be done. And I am being honest about this, the floor never ever loof oked this good even when the house was newly built and the engineered wood was the original floor!

+ 2 moreIt was truly a pleasure working with such a professional company who could handle all of my flooring needs. The store was very user friendly and the staff was knowledgeable and helped me make the right decisions for my home. I originally wanted different flooring that would not have been as durable with the heavy traffic of my family. The salesperson suggested a similar floor with a harder finish which is working out much better for my home. I was very happy with the installers as well. They are certified installers who were careful with my home and cleaned up afterward. They were polite and moved quickly but thoroughly with installation of my flooring. I am so happy with the job from Rick Warman's Flooring America I have told my whole family. I don't normally write about a company but in this day where customer service needs a lot to be desired, I have to compliment Flooring America for their wonderful service and expertise. It's not often you get service like this and they guarantee their work.
Description of Work: I had a pipe burst upstairs in my home while I was away, which saturated my entire home downstairs. Flooring America installed oak hardwood floors in my living room, dining room and entry. Ceramic tile was installed in my laundry and powder room and carpet was installed in my family room and office and I had carpet tiles put in, in my basement.
