Ex-Stink Plumbing & Sewer

We were searching for Harold Van Crey. We used him as a plumber on a new addition we added over 15 years ago. When my husband tried to flush paper towels down the toilet and they got stuck of course, we knew we had to find Harold. He had to use "the big machine" but got the problem fixed. He never trys to sell you more then you need and he knows what he is doing!

After making an appointment and then reading another members review who didn't have an accessible cleanout access I thought I might be in for a ride. As it turned out I did not have a clean out access for them to easily complete this work and doing so required removing a toilet so they could enter the pipes through that drain. I'm very pleased to report that both Andy and Harold who came to my house were very professional and gave me a fair price to complete this work. I also appreciated that they called me an hour prior to arriving to let me know they were on their way and took care to protect my floors and clean up after themselves when they were done. I believe what most impressed me by these 2 gentlemen was that even though the plumbing in my home proved to be challenging they inspired confidence that they were going to be able to handle the job and would not walk away until it was finished. I also appreciated that I was able/allowed to watch the TV screen while the gentlemen maneuvered the camera through the pipes in the home. They also did a good job of explaining what was taking place and explained things in terms that I could understand. I would definitely recommend Andy and Harold from ExStink and at their recommendation am planning to make the investment in having a "cleanout access" added to my home to make future maintenance easier. Not well. They missed the first scheduled appointment. When they came for the rescheduled appointment they discovered their camera wasn't working. They did rod out the sewer pipe, but no one ever followed up with me to reschedule having them come back to look at the pipes with the camera. I don't feel that they did what I paid for nor was their customer service level acceptable.

Excellent experience. Service Tech, Andy was professional, courteous, and knowledgable. He listened and with every step he explained what was needed to fix the issue. Within 2 hours he completed my issues above. My only extra cost was $35 for needed parts. I will use this company for any future plumbing repairs and I recommend this company for anyone!

Some problems with equipment, but they came back the following day with working equipment.

We purchased a coupon for $119.00 which covered the cleaning (one-pass) of our private drain along with a video inspection of the drain. They perform both services well. I watched as they did the video and they explained what I was seeing and any potential problems. The sewer was quite clean and only one section required cleaning. They cleaned it very well and I believe spent extra time on it as most of the other sections of my sewer did not need any cleaning. They found only one area of concern and marked it in my front yard. They recommended that I make a note of the location so I would have it for later if I wanted to correct the issue.

They were polite and punctual. It was neat seeing the televised visualization of our pipes.

The bathtub drain ended up working fine and we also ended up with an estimate to cut a clean out into the line in front of the house. Four estimates later, it became clear that we did not need a clean out in the sewer line, it just need to be rodded...

I have a lot of trees growing around my sewer line and hadn't had my sewer scoped for about 10 years, so I thought I'd take advantage of the $99 deal. April, who answers the phone, is very nice and was most accommodating when I had to reschedule my appt. On the day of my appt., the service techs, Harold and Andy, called a 1/2 hour before they arrived and they were well within their 3 hour window. I was impressed with them as they both were very friendly and courteous. I really appreciated that they allowed me to watch the camera as they guided it through the sewer. They explained what we were seeing through the entire process. They scoped to the main sewer which is about 150ft. and there was no extra charge for the distance. The last time I had this done (by another company), they charged extra to go past 100 ft. Fortunately, I did not have any root problems or any other major problem, which was a relief. Even though the rodding wasn't neccessary, it was definitely worth the $99 for the peace of mind. I would definitely recommend and use them again.

He arrived promptly and did the sewer televising and rodding. Plus, he did mention an issue with the pipes and said we would benefit from hydrojetting sometime in the future since there was a lot of scale build up proximally towards the house. He was willing to give a deal on the hydrojetting which I am still mulling over.

It cost more than the "Bid Deal" I mean once they had run the auger down the lines they did the sewer cam and showed me there was more roots there. And to get those and do a good job I'd need another "go" with a bigger auger....and that would be more. I went the extra as I wanted a good job of course but things going up like that always leaves you with the feeling that the little bump in price was standard procedure.. Still i liked the guys. I do wish I'd asked to have the camera run again after thr 2nd cleaning, just to be sure. They seemed like straight shooters tho.

I scheduled an appointment and was under the understanding that we would be the first stop that afternoon. We waited and waited for them to show up but they never did. When I called later that day said they wouldn't be able to make it. They could have called as soon as they realized they would not be able to come instead of treating us like 2nd class citizens.

They showed up just when they said would explained what they do and did it. They then showed me the clean line cleaned up after themselves and left. A very pleasant experience to have somebody show up on time, explain the process, clean up after themselves, and explain exactly what they were doing

I had some concerns as to the extent of my sewer's problem, but they were able to take care of it for me. While it cost more than I anticipated from the coupon, I was confident in what they were telling me and did not feel like they were taking advantage of the situation.

The work was delayed du to problems on the previous job. the technician kept in touch by phone and was at our place the same morning. The work was completed in timely manner, very professional and we got some good advise on the maintenance. I would use this company or refer a friend in a heartbeat.
