Ex-Stink Plumbing & Sewer

Mark was outstanding - on time, professional, and explained the situation, alternatives, and costs needed. While we initially thought just sewer rodding was needed, upon video review we needed to install a cleanout. While digging down to do the cleanout they realized earlier lines needed to be replaced as this would not solve the problem for long. They provided a number of options, contacted the city for permitting, and made the cleanout install and 30' sewer pipe replacement as painless as possible for us.

Everything looks nice, works well, and no leaks. Would definitely use again.

I scheduled a 9 am appointment but received a call that they could come early to start work. Mark and Mark arrived, located the sewer access and got right to work. They rodded the pipe, looked at it with the camera and told me that the line looked "immaculate." The job was done in about 20 minutes and they left shortly after 9 when the appointment was originally scheduled to start. Mark and Mark were very pleasant to work with and I would recommend their services.

They arrived on time and agreed to the quoted price. They didn't think our particular pipe configuration would lend itself to the standard rodding procedure, but they made it work. They kept us informed at every step of the procedure.

They performed a service and advised me on preventative maintenance that I need to have done. I ultimately went with a local plumber to before the work at a low hourly price.

We are getting in the habit of rodding our sewer pipes annually as a preventive measure. Our last rodding (which was an emergency), cost $200+, so when I saw this angie's big deal for $99, I jumped on it. After getting the deal, I called on a Friday because I had the opportunity to work from home on that Monday. Even given the short time frame, they scheduled me, showed up on time, and completed the rodding within a 15-20 minutes. We had an outside access port, so they were able to use their large cutter. Quick and efficient!

Ex-Stink was punctual and professional and did a great job replacing the valves. They explained what they were doing as they went along and finished replacing both spigots within the 2 hours that I had paid for in the big deal so I didn't owe any extra for labor. Overall, a great experience.

Overall it went ok, but I wish they would have gotten the idea that I wanted work done after the first time, and not continuing to talk me into doing additional $5 worth of work. Before you get them to do the work, make sure they understand what the expectations are!

These guys were great. Very experienced, professional, and friendly. They did not need to check my sink (as part of the deal I purchased), but they did just to make sure there was not a problem connected to the tub. I would highly recommend them.

They did an excellant job of finding the clog and got the drains to work again! I definitely would recommend them very much for anyone having drainage issues.

The service was easy to schedule and the men were right on time for the appoitment. The telivising was completed but "no rodding was required". i was told that due to what they saw in the televised look, what I needed to help me wa hydrojetting that would cost $800+. I don't have enought knowledge to knowwhether that was good advice or it it was an unnecessary recommendation. I woudl use the company again for bhasic work - they had good knowledge and were easy to work with.

Both the plumber and his apprentice were very nice and professional. They were able to complete the work in the allotted two hours based on the angie's list deal. The work was solid and I am happy with the result.

Ex-Stink Plumbing & Sewer are pretty far away, but they didn't have any problems coming my way. He was exceptionally nice. It was a good experience. I had gotten an Angie's Big Deal.

We were getting a bad smell from a drain in the basement that we thought was clogged. Turned out everything was clear. At least we got the peace of mind.

Good, clean job. Had them come back and check out line to the street with their camera. Will use again.

The service was fantastic overall! They showed up quickly, quicker than expected, and solved my problem. They did a great job.

I had a sewer backup issue in my basement. I bought an Angies deal and Ex-Stink sent out two plumbers the next day. They were very nice and explained that they'd try to free the clog but I would likely need an exterior cleanout installed. They removed a sizable clump of roots from my drain on the first pass with the rodding machine. I was told they'd attempt another pass but wouldn't likely be able to free the entire clog with such a small cutter. On the next attempt they got the machine stuck in the drain. They were unable to remove the cutter from my drain making all of my homes plumbing unusable until they were able to remove it. I was advised that the exterior cleanout they had previously mentioned was the only way to slove the problem. This service would cost $2100 and they would be back the following day to dig up my yard, free the cutter, and install the cleanout. They were required to notify the Naperville Water Authority in order to obtain an "emergency dig permit". I agreed to the work and was signing the papers when a Naperville Water Authority representative knocked on my door. The city rep asked to see what the issue was; after a brief inspection he notified me that the "city" would remove the cutter and do a camera inspection of my drain to see if the work proposed by the plumber was actually required. I told Ex-Stink that I'd like to hold off on the work until the city checked things out so they agreed and left for another job. The city sent out 2 more people who came and were able to quickly remove the cutter from my drain adn then showed me as they did the camera inspection of my pipes. We saw where the original root clump came from and that was the only obstruction in my pipes (Ex-stink had effectively removed it all on the first pass). I was advised the propsed work was unnecessary and I cancelled any further work with Ex-stink. The city informed me that lately many plumbers have been trying to sell unneeded work such as this to customers. I'm not sure Ex-stinks recommendation to me was underhanded but I have my suspicions. As I read reviews I saw that they in fact slod this added cleanout to several customers so it makes me increasingly skeptical that it is not a ploy to increase profits. So while ultimately Ex-stink performed the task contracted for, I do feel I was nearly duped into a very costly, yet unnecessary service.

I called to schedule an appointment in November, and it was over two months before the work was done. They did a good job and pointed out a major problem with the pipe that needed immediate attention. They explained the problem clearly and offered a bid for the job.

We purchased two deals to cover our inside drains. The technicians that showed up were very polite and knew what they were doing. The technicians showed up on time, I had made the appointment about 6 weeks in advance, be prepared to wait a little bit for your appointment. The rodding and view of the sewer was pretty easy, it was a cool experience to see the drain system in our home. After the viewing, the technicians suggested doing some additional work since we couldn't find our external drain access. We agreed and they came out the following week for an additional fee. After that visit, it was determined that we needed more plumbing work in the exterior access point. We didn't proceed with the recommended work due to the budget we were provided. However, the technicians were very knowledgeable and provided good information on our sewer and the work needed.

The plumber came the day I called for service We had two outdoor lines clogged and he rodded both This resulted in an $80 surcharge but that wasn't a surprise I would recommend ExStink to anyone

Purchased coupon. Scheduled work. Workers called and came a little early. Completed tasks asked and stuck around and performed a few additional odds and ends with extra time available. Very professional. Clean. Would not hesitate in recommending.

They located the line and sent a camera through to check that it was clear. It took about 2 hours. They offered to clean it at no extra cost because there seemed to be an obstruction near the street which wouldn't let the camera past. The total cost, 390, included 15 dollars for a drain cap they broke when taking it off. Their work was fine, but what they charged was outrageous. It was at least 100 dollars more than what the local plumber (who is quite expensive) would have charged.
