Ex-Stink Plumbing & Sewer

television showed previous contractor (Power Plumbing) only punched a small hole in roots blocking sewer -- ex-stink went through with a cutter the size of the pipe and cleaned it out thoroughly! I will use them regularly.

They came out today and the guy said it's only for outdoor cleanouts. I informed him that it didn't say anything in the fine print about that. He told me the fine print would be four pages long and that's why it says "Restrictions Apply." He had to call the owner and then came back and offered to do it for me for an additional $100. No thanks! It was a big waste of time!

The owner was very friendly, personable and on time for the appointment. They explained what they did, showed me the tree roots that were extracted, and also had me look at camera images.

Ex-Stink was unable to route the exterior drain pipes due to significant root growth in the pipes. Consequently, they recommended replacing the exterior drain pipes to the house. This was not an expense that we expected considering that we recently (less than a year) moved into the home. We got a second opinion and the second plumber recommended the exact same course of action. We ultimately did get the pipes replaced, but by another company. We were not dissatisfied with Ex-Stink and thought they did a good job. Their advice and recommendation was sound, but we went with a reference from a neighbor who had similar work done.

I really felt like I was taken for a bad ride. Although the men were very polite and the work done was ok, the eventual price was most upsetting. He informed me that the $99 only covered one run into the pipe with a 2 " cutter. And, of course, they said that the sewer was in need of more cutting. The ad they put out said nothing of just 1 rod pass through with the smaller cutter they had. My sewer was actually working well, but I wanted to use the 'good deal' to be ahead of the game and rod before we encountered problems. I felt trapped into allowing more cutting since they were already here. Well they proceeded to run a 3" inch cutter, a 4" cuter and a 6 inch cutter to the tune of $125 a cutter. That brought the total cost of the rodding up to $474. They deducted the $99 that I had paid for the deal, so I paid $375 more. I feel the company misrepresented the offer. Everyone should know that they will not get a quality rodding for the $99 price. I think Angi's list should force them to be more specific and honest. I called twice and each time received an explanation that was basically "you paid for what you got". However, finally she said she owed me $5 which I never received. I expected a "deal" from buying an Angi's list offer, and I have yet to figure out the "deal" I got.

It took one email to setup my appointment. It was no problem getting the date and time that would accommodate my schedule. The plumber and his helper were on time (maybe even a little early). They were both very professional and friendly. They put the scope in the sewer pipe they found some tree roots & other debris that was slowing down our drains. I was able to see the scope?s exploration on their computer monitor. The plumber explained my options and we decided that the least expensive one would work for now. In addition to the work I had hired them for and paid extra for them to do a more extensive cleaning. I live in an old house in an old section of Deerfield so it was no surprise that I would be spending more than expected. It was money well spent since we have not had any clogged drains since they left. The plumber also gave me tips on how to prevent the constant clogging issues we were having in our bath room (tub/sink/toilet) and suggested that we do a yearly cleaning. They sweep and hosed down the driveway. Everything was tidy when they left. Grade B given for Pricing/Quality: I know nothing about plumbing so I?m not sure that it was a fair price for the work that was done or that is was quality work. Plumbing and car repairs are always had to judge for pricing and quality. Having said that? I was very pleased with the experience and would use them again and would recommend them.

It went great. They came out shortly after I purchased the big deal. This was the first time I had used them. They were very friendly. They seemed honest. I had no problems at all. They were on time.

I took the Big Deal mainly for sewer clean-up; video was a secondary reason. When the contractor arrived, he told me that clean-up could not be done in my case for stated price, as sewer opening is located inside the house in the basement. Apparently there was a small print out clause somewhere for my situation. Consequently, he only provided the video service. When placing the order, I was not asked this detail, nor it was clearly listed in deal description. That is was really upsets me. I am not going to use this provider again. To be fair, the service was done punctually and professionally. I also was offered a discount for repair procedure, since clean-up was not performed.

I bought the big deal which included using a tool to clean out the drain. They ran the tool through the pipe to clear the blockage and also gave me some tips on how to prevent future blockages.

After multiple attempts trying to unclog our tub drain, we finally contacted a professional. Ex-Stink unclogged the drain and it has been great since. They also gave us helpful tips to avoid problems in the future. Price was great - way less than any other quotes we received. Would definitely use them, again.

They came out put a wax seal on the pipe that was leaking, installed all new stainless steel bolts in the floor and the toilet. They did the job within an hour came out when they said they were coming. My second time using this compnay, prompt excellent service both times. Very pleased with the service, and priced reasonably.

As soon as there was some movement of water, they felt that their job was done. I had to ask them to rod in both directions, but they only would do this once. I know that there are a lot of tree roots, due to the number of trees. They then gave me an estimate to replace the clean out for $2200.00. I wish they would have rodded at least twice in both directions

Originally I had purchased a coupon to have the sewer rodded but once they put the camera in, it was apparent that it was a much larger problem. The clay had been broken by huge tree roots that had camped out in there. It was amazing that anything got through because the tree roots were almost the size of the pipe itself. Mark gave me a price right then and there to have the pipe replaced and I agreed. I knew this was coming. It is one of those things that eventually everyone who has clay pipes comes upon. Two days later they were there with the permit and the bulldozer and dug a trench 8 feet deep by 5 feet wide and 42 feet long. I have lived in houses that needed this done before and this was by far the neatest job I have ever seen. having a huge trench dug in your yard is messy work, but when they were finished, the trench was filled back in and while there is a bit of a mound of dirt above ground it's neatly put back. Best of all, everything works beautifully and I don't have to worry about it again. Mark, Dave, and the rest of the crew were amazing to work with and took care of everything. They worked late to make sure everything was back in place and cleaned up. I would definitely hire them again for any plumbing work I need done.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service. It went really well and they are a great crowd. They did a great job.

They were great and I did not spend any more than the big deal that I purchased. They showed me the information after doing the service. They arrived on time and were very professional. They were very pleasant and very helpful. Their pricing was fair but I have nothing to compare it to because I have never done this before.

This was a Big Deal offer. Our service window was 8am-noon. The plumber called at 8:45 to let us know that they would be there at 9. They showed up promptly at 9. The plumber and his assistant were very friendly and polite, asked about what the situation and got right to work. They removed a large amount of tree roots and performed a video inspection of the sewer line, showing me a problem area where the clay drain pipe had separated. (They did not know, but) I was already aware of the problem. He stressed that it was important to get the sewer line cleaned out regularly, but didn't hard sell replacing the sewer line. Additionally, he said that he thought that only the problem area needed replacement instead of entire sewer line. I did ask for (and received) a written estimate for the work he suggested and replacing the entire line. They were done in less than 45 minutes and did a good job of cleaning up. I would definitely would use them again.

We have used Ex-Stink in the past to put in an outside sewer access, as well as route our sewer line and we have been very pleased. This time, we had them replace our sump pump as well as install a battery back-up. They were very helpful and answered all of our questions and concerns. During the installation, the central air unit was accidentally turned off. We were unaware of this, and due to the holiday, we were without air conditioning for quite a few days. As soon as possible, we called an HVAC vendor. They came out and just needed to turn the unit back on. When we called to inform Ex-Stink of this, they reimbursed us for the service call. I was impressed at their polite manner and professionalism.

Great. Last year I HAD SOME PRETTY SERIOUS ROOT PROBLEMS. hE RECOMMENDED RUNNING A 4IN 1ST, THEN THE CAMERA AND A 6IN TO FIFNISH UP WHICH COST EXTRA. But he said that was because it had been a few years since it had been done and that if I had them back each year one trip w/th 6in would do it. That's right. One trip did it this year w/no extra charge! They were great!!!
