Ex-Stink Plumbing & Sewer

Ex-stink came out the same day and exhausted all options on how to fix my problem. The men who came were awesome an let me know what was happening step by step. Felt they were professional and fixed my issue. Would definately call them again

Called to schedule the appointment. At that time, Ex-Stink told us that since our sewer access was in the basement, it would cost an extra $100 for extra labor, since an extra person was needed for the job. Apparently they get this a lot, because they immediately suggested we get a refund on Angie's List. It would be nice if they would put that information in the ad itself, so this type of frustration and confusion could be avoided in the future.

fine, i saw the sewer line with their camera. didn't seem as bad as they made it out to be. price for the rodding seemed a lot.

Edit 11/05/14: They also gave me an estimate for replacing the pipes in my sewer line, as they said my pipes were old and crumbling. I was told that I needed to rip up my driveway and get brand new piping. The price tag ended up being over $7000 and so I decided to get a second opinion. The other company I hired let me know the driveway did not to be ripped up and that the pipes could be accessed from the manhole close by. Also, I could get a resin lining installed in the pipes and wouldn't need to replace with new. I was disappointed that Ex-Stink did not offer another option that would have been less expensive.

That turned out fine. They came on time and did the job that they were suppose to do. Two technicians came out they were cutting roots an outside access. I did have to pay a little bit more due to it being a longer distance.

Well, The inspection went well. He was polite. I did think he wanted to convince me to upgrade my sump pump. He tried to instill some doubt as to its longevity.

the sewer line was cleaned out - there was a big push to have additional work done, additionally they had to reschedule the service call because their equipment broke down (it was a late call on a friday afternoon) and they forgot to put my rescheduled appt on the books - so the second time around, i had to wait a long time to have the service performed

Entire team was professional and courteous. The were sensitive to the fact that we, as homeowners, were not expecting to replace an entire collapsed sewer line within our first year of home ownership. They tried to be as careful as possible around mature plantings, which was appreciated as they had to dig a 14ft hole through our entire front yard to reach to water main. Would highly recommend!

Mark came out and said the service could only be performed from the outside; he said my access could only be from the inside and it would be an additional cost. He was very informative, helpful, and honest about this. Basically what I need is not part of the deal, so he just suggested I requested a refund.

I used the Angie’s List coupon for the job. It was excellent. I asked the person that is actually renting from the property if they had any problems at all and she said no and that they were professional. I don’t know anything about the quality because I don’t have anything to compare it to.

They did a great job of explaining what they were looking for in the pipes. They pointed out areas where water was pooling, but said it wasn't necessary to fix at this point. I would use them again for other plumbing work.

Although Mark and Juan were a bit late of the scheduled time, I thought they were professional and thorough in rodding the line. However, I was a little taken aback by the price. I had purchased the $99 rodding coupon and upon cleaning out the line, Mark noticed that a clump of roots was clogging the sewer. Apparently, the $99 dollars does not cover extensive root rodding, so I was quoted an additional $396 dollars to fully clear out the line. Thirty minutes and a few cutting blades later, the line was cleared. I am happy that the job was completed, and again, I thought Mark and Juan were very professional, but an additional 396 dollars for 30 minutes work seemed a bit exorbitant for the task.

There was what I believe to be a scheduling mix-up and I was not on the schedule as I thought I had booked with the office. That being said, when I called in the office immediately contacted the plumbers and they came after their last job (I was originally given a 3-5 pm window and they arrived around 5:45 pm). Once they arrived however the experience was great. The team was extremely courteous and professional and the work was done quickly and efficiently. I would absolutely use them again.

It went well. The two gentlemen were professional and communicative and did the job and sold me on the one year contract guarantee which i felt would make sense. overall was a good experience.

It faced problems but finally made it.

He did a great job-worked hard-explained in detail what he was doing and why and was efficient. He was open to discussing other questions we had about our "new to us" home. So glad we consulted him!!

EXCELLENT!!! Guys used camera equipment to inspect drain lines and evaluate situation.....then solved problem.

Men from Ex-Stink were professional and courteous. They gave an estimate for installing a proper size clean out access point. Estimate seemed a little high but I have nothing to compare it to yet.

They opened the cleanout in my garage. First they tried to push the camera toward the street direction to find the possible clog location. The camera only went for about half feet; the image was not clear what was in front of it. Because I told them that there might be a backflow preventer installed by previous owner, they quickly told me that "yes, there is a backflow check valve". They said that they didn't want to push the camera too hard, and worried about the camera may be stuck by check valve (if there were a check valve) and cannot be pulled back. When I asked whether they can try the rod first to remove the junk in front of valve, and then took a look with camera again to see if the valve exists and still functions, they refused to take any risk. In the end, they quoted me a new project that was to dig everything from ground, and reinstall the new sewer backflow system with $4200. Here are the things I could not agree with their service. 1) they failed to show me where the check valve was, and whether the sewer clog was truly caused by the malfunction valve. 2) if the check valve were there, it usually located on the side near to my house. I did research and took many backflow preventer images on the website. All of them actually have the check valve on the upstream side. In another word, from the cleanout towards to street side (the flow of sewerage) should not have any valve structure. The block in the front of camera may be the clog, and they should give a try to remove it. 3) if they really concern that the check valve is on the downstream of cleanout open, I think they should pump all of sewerage from the pipe, and then take a clear shot. Basically, I was not able to distinguish any things from the camera view they showed me.

I couldn't be happier with Ex-Stink. The guys were friendly and knowledgable, and took the time to answer all my questions as we watched the scope go through the sewer line. They successfully cut out some tree roots, and cleaned up well when they were done. I'll definitely be using them as my regular maintenance crew on my sewer line.
