Honored Angie's list deal ($99 for the main sewer rodding and camera), was honest about the condition of the sewer line and gave us a good maintenance schedule. Also hand rodded bathroom drain that was clogged and kitchen drain that was clogged for $229. The price of the rodding on the bathroom and kitchen was fair but not great. Overral though, they were fast and reasonable, very professional and did a good job. I'd work with them again.

They came when they said they would and did what they said they'd do. They explained everything clearly also, which I appreciated.

They came on time and were very professional. Unfortunately due to an unforeseen issue with my sewer pipes, they were not able to perform the service so there was no fee as the services were not able to be rendered. Angie's List also gave me a quick refund.

Purchased Big Deal for rodding and televising of sewer line for $99. The Ad on Angie's List indicates that the clean out must be accessible. What they don't tell you is the clean out has to be outside of your home, not in the basement or other indoor place, which I am willing to bet most clean outs are located. Since the clean out, which in my case is very accessible, is in the basement, they wanted double the money, another $100. I cancelled the order and told them that this is a classic bait and switch tactic. They blamed Angie's List for not getting their proper language in the Ad, not my problem. By the way, I am not the only making this same complaint about them on Angie's List. Check their customer review history and you can see for yourself. Since I cancelled the Deal, I didn't get ripped off, but it was a waste of my time.

The technician came out. He delayed the appointment for a little bit because his camera had to be repaired. He came and told me that my pipe was blocked under the garage floor and was leaking water. He said it would leak water and continue to crack the garage floor, which had cracks in it. I asked him to talk to my husband. We called my husband at his office and made an appointment to come out the following Monday, the 18th so that he could show my husband the problem. My husband came home from work early, specifically for this purpose. At 4:45, I called the company because the technician had not shown up. The had the technician call me. He told me that his camera broke at 2pm that day, so he would not be able to show my husband. I said to him that you knew that my husband was coming home early from the office, particularly to show him the problem. You should have called me. So I could of told him that you would not be here. He would of been able to continue his work day. I think it is very unprofessional to not extend the courtesy of letting the person know you wouldn't be there. My husband made another appointment for the weekend. Hopefully the technician's camera will be working. While the company might have a high rating, I do not appreciate having appointments cancelled without letting the client know they are cancelled. In addition, the price on the proposal is an estimate. It's not a firm price, which is a problem for me. I found a different plumber who did not agree and took care of my drainage problem for a fraction of the cost

It went very well. There were no problems with the main line. They did find problems with another line and I was happy that they found it. They were on time, quick, and thorough. The price was average.

Mr. Harold Van Crey came on 08/08/2014 to do Sewer Rodding and Drain Cleaning in my house. He came in response to a coupon for $99 big deal offer that I had purchased in May 23, 2013. Since they were busy; it took more than 6 months for them to come to my house for a site visit. An employee by the name of Mark first came from Ex-Stink for a site visit and told me that the $99 coupon I purchased would not cover the job. I asked him to give me an estimate about the actual cost. Mark told me that for $365 he will do whatever mentioned in the coupon and additionally he would replace the lid covering my sewage back up pit. Although $365 was more than 3 times than what I started with, I agreed because he said he would give a lid for the sewage pit which I felt needed to be changed. Accordingly, Mark wrote a service contract and gave a copy to me and promised to do the job once winter was over. He gave the service contract on 12/16/2013 and since winter lasted longer than expected, they could not come before the coupon expired. Instead Ms. April Van Crey sent me email stating the Ex-Stink would honor the coupon beyond its expiry. When Mr. Harold Van Crey showed up on 08/08/2014 he did not bring any lid as promised. When I mentioned about the lid he started blaming Mark for writing such a service contract. Mr. Van Crey informed me that Mark does not work for his company anymore. I reminded him that since I went from $99 to $365 he should honor what was written on the contract. It was more than a year since I purchased their Big deal offer and I did not want to drag it any longer. It was my third time taking a day off from work and staying home just so they can do the work. Even the helper who accompanied Mr. Van Crey mentioned to me that it is not right for them to do this. The same helper, who came with Mark before and accompanied Mr. Van Crey on 8/8/2014, assured me that they would honor their contract. I told Mr. Van Crey that they could do the rodding and cleaning that day but I would pay the remaining amount when they replace my lid. Mr. Van Crey did not look very pleased with my proposal. He then went to my bathroom to do rodding. Barely ten minutes into the project, I noticed him getting ready to leave telling me that he could not do rodding in my house because the pipes were too old. When I looked under my sink I noticed that he broke a pipe when he tried to open it. I was shocked and didn?t understand why he was handling the situation like the way he did. Since he was a plumber, I at least expected him to tell me how to fix the problem. I told him that the sink in my bath room and half bath room on the other side of the wall were connected and if he left it like that, then I would not be able to use any one of them. I told him to replace the broken pipe and I would pay for the parts. He did not answer to my request; he just gathered his belongings and started to walk out the door. It was beyond my imagination that someone can behave like that. I was shocked! I requested him several times not to leave me in that situation. He never once said sorry, and showed any remorse. When I mentioned to him about the $99 coupon I purchased, he said it was not his concern and since I bought it through Angie?s List I would have to take the matter to them. I requested him to wait while I called Angie?s List to settle the matter, unfortunately he did not oblige, and instead he got in his van and left.

The service did not go well. They did not do the work as advertised on our older sewer lines.They damaged our driveway in the process of doing the plumbing. It was a brand new driveway. They were unable to get through to the line to clear the pipes. They spent several hours on the service and two technicians came out. They had to come out twice. I had no problem contacting the company or scheduling the service. I think they made a good effort, but I think they need better equipment. The equipment they advertised and brought was not adequate for the job. They probably would have needed to outsource to have the job done correctly. I was very disappointed in the service. They were supposed to follow up with estimates and recommendations of hydro jets and we never received those estimates. We have had to contact other companies to resolve our plumbing issues.

They arrived on time at the beginning off the appointment window. After I discussed the problem in detail I was pleasantry surprised they offered hydrojet drain cleaning in addition to regular drain rooting. My research before hand made me think this was the technology needed but I could not find a provider on Angies List. I have an old house (1946) and there was a lot of garbage disposal waste that had turned to sludge in the pipes. Previous contractors that charged just as much rant the snake through one time then ran the water for 10 minutes and left. Ex Stink worked at it for over 2 hours and got the drain working great. I would highly recommend them.

A few days after I bought my house my sump pump quit. I was not moved in yet and we just had a heavy downpour. I went to the house to check on it and heard the backup beeping. Part of the basement was finished and the pump pit was almost filled with water. To make matters worst this was a Sat. evening. I called 3 places that claimed to have 24 hour emergency service, none answered. When I called Ex-Stink I got their answering service, they said someone would call me back. Within a half hour someone called me and within a hour they were at the house. They replaced the pump right away. This bill was $700.00. I had them come back to replace the battery backup and to replace all the discharge piping. For some reason the previous owners also had the sump pump able to discharge into the septic system. Bad idea, I had that removed. This bill was $1800.00 but both the sump pump and the battery backup are top of the line. I was very pleased with the service and the fact that they meant what they said in their advertisement. They were very patient and answered all my questions. I would defiantly use them again.

It was interesting to see the line. The reason I bought the deal was I was having sewer backup issues and needed to see what was going on. The guys who came out seemed in a hurry. I asked for an estimated on an overhead sewer which I was very serious about implementing - and he gave me a price of 14600 which was the absolute highest quote I ended up receiving. All other estimates were in the 6-13k range. I would use them again for a sewer related task but probably only if it was a special.

We had flooding in the basement as the sump pump discharge caused the window wells to flood. Another service provider was not able to solve our problem after multiple attempts. The other provider's last solution was to relocate the sump pump discharge line to the back with a bubbler pot. After not getting answers to questions about the proposed solution, I turned to Ex-Stink. I had logically assumed that there was a clog in the storm sewer that was causing the problem, but no provider could verify that that was the issue and that the sump/window wells even connected to the storm sewer. The house was built in the 60s, we recently moved in, and no one seemed to know how the pipes were connected. I had asked Ex-Stink to relocate the discharge line. When they came to do that job, they correctly deduced the pipe layout and the likely cause of the problem, and switched directions from the original job they came to do. The tree roots and build-up was severe in multiple locations, requiring digging deep into two different areas, through sidewalk and driveway, in order to have enough torque to get through the blockages. Andy was very knowledgeable, forthcoming with the risks of locating the clog and possibly finding the pipe condition in a state that would need further evaluation. The proper inspections and permits were obtained, the work area was cleaned up, and the sump pump discharge is not filling the window wells. The office is accessible, the team is friendly, and the scheduling timely. Highly recommended.

Nobody ever wants to have a plumber come to their house BUT I would have Andy back again in a minute. Called them this morning and they came out exactly when they said they would. I am surprised that plumbers of this quality exist. He helped, explained and did a great job. I can't say enough nice things about them. Yes will we use them again.

I bought the $99 deal from Angie's list and they did a good job.

Too expensive , Bought the Angie's List coupon and ended up costing me an additional 365.00 to rod out a sewer line. The whole job took an hour! Almost 500 dollars for an hours work. Bait and switch tactics using Angie's List coupons.

Liked the “salesman/plumber” they sent on the $99 deal. DID NOT like the owner who showed up the day of the $2200 event I agreed to. He would not put up the $500 bond with the Village to insure his work and basically said I was lying about the fact that the village told me that his company should be the one to put up the bond. He had me over a barrel because my water wasn’t working and was ready to walk away from the job so I put up the bond. They also promised to fix the pipe under the sink in the kitchen that they broke rodding out the sink. The owner was the one fixing that and he clearly didn’t want to. That pipe still leaks and if I turn on the outside water (on the other side of the same wall) my kitchen floods. The owner told me that he was basically doing this job at cost and had an attitude. His workers were generally pleasant. There are other companies out there. I would recommend them instead.

Couldn't wait to log in to write a glowing review - my first on Angie's List. From my first call this Sunday morning to the completed job, this company is great. Owner Harold called back within 5 minutes of my leaving an after-hours message. He called his crew Andy who also called within five minutes to say he was on his way. Andy and Juan were at my home in just over an hour - and they traveled a fair distance to get to Evanston. I was so glad to see them because we had a total blockage of waste water which was backing up into our basement through the floor drain, toilet and laundry tubs. They quickly and expertly found an access for rodding and cleared the block immediately. Then they had us double check that all water drains in the building were working. They used a neat camera to locate possible issues with the sewer line. They helped us dispose of buckets of water that we had accumulated when trying to clean up the water. They were professional, personable, efficient, effective, and patient. They explained everything they were doing and answered all questions. They even kept asking if we had questions. Overall, and in detail... great work. I wish them well and will recommend to friends, neighbors, anyone. Thanks again, guys!

That would cost about an extra few hundred dollars. I asked about the cleaning part of the sewage while rodding service is on, he said if needed additional cleaning service would cost about $350 to $400. From my part,after knowing the cost, right now it is not urgent need also I am nervous and hesitate to take chances about breaking the pipelines. Suppose what if the rodding work break the pipes, because of it's electrical procedure.

They will very nice and they said they will still honor the deal, since we are planning to re-due our driveway. They were great with communication, they were helpful and gave us good advice over the phone. I think I spoke with the owner and she was very nice and generous with her time.

I purchased a $99 deal from Angie's list. They came on time and were very friendly. They fed a video line into the sewer and showed me what it looked like. It wasn't too bad, but had some tree roots. The $99 deal only involves a 2 inch cutter and they recommended I upgrade to a larger cutter with an additional charge. They didn't get angry at me when I chose not to upgrade. They also gave me an estimate for other plumbing work I might need to do at some point in the future. Overall, I recommend using Ex-Stink plumbing.

All in all they were great and they showed me the whole line with the camera. I called around and found their pricing was reasonable. They were knowledgeable and worked with me on scheduling. Communication was wonderful and I could easily get a hold of them on the phone.

The two individuals were punctual and customer-friendly. They also answered questions in a congenial manner, with no element of attitude.

Very knowledgeable and helpful. After viewing the pipe we determined there was not leak. No further work necessary.

I live in an old house with 4" service from the house to the street. With mature trees and crumbling infrastructure, I need the line rodded regularly. Bought the big deal in January. Was contacted right away. I wanted to schedule in the spring. Was told no problem. I called to schedule. They came out. All good!
