Everything went smoothly. Dave and TJ were punctual arriving about 7:45AM. They even gave me a courtesy call in advance of arriving! Dave explained what the process involved and answered all questions to my satisfaction. When they finished, Dave explained a few a the problem areas to keep an eye on and gave me price indications for repairing each of them. Did not hard sell me on any of them and suggested that we route the line each year for preventative maintenance (Our neighbors have two very large trees next to our property that are causing the problem). We will certainly use them again next year. A very competent and honest crew. I highly recommend them!

They were very punctual and courteous. I was able to see a partial blockage using their video system. Fortunately it was not as bad as they had thought and therefore a simple rodding was all that was required.

Excellent service and work! The work was done on time by friendly professionals. They showed up on time and got to work. We are very happy with the work that was done. Harold told us there was a coupon on Angie's List for the job and they honored the coupon without question. Examined sewer line with camera. Removed roots in sewer line in front yard. Made recommendations to maintain sewer line without any hard up-sell.

They showed up on time and ran a camera through our sewer line. We were able to see exactly where the trouble spots were located. They proposed cutting through them with a 4-inch blade, and they were able to rod the whole line. They were quick and professional.

From start to finish they were professional, the price was fair and they overcame many obstacles.

Dave & Frank Came and used the Scope but it couldn't go past 15 feet because of Tree Roots. They Rodded with the 3 inch (all that could fit) then scoped it again and then Rodded again to fully clear the line. Water flowed terrific after their work. They explained the need for additional services in the future but were not Pushy. Right now I can't afford to have the whole thing done but would Definitely use them in the future for all my plumbing needs. I purchased from Angies List on Monday and they were here Wednesday by 10:30 am. They Called when 1/2 hour out to give me time to be ready. Dave and Frank were extremely Courteous and Professional. I will use this company and specifically them for all my plumbing needs. THANKS SO MUCH!

I purchased the 99$ Angie's List deal for this service. The provider allowed me to make an appointment 3 months after the purchase. They arrived on time, and let me watch and record some of the camera viewing on my phone. The also rooted the sewer to remove existing root growth. They provided an estimate to fix the sewer issue which I will likely not use but I appreciated the advice. This was a bargain at 99$ as I have paid >25$ when I needed it done in an emergency situation. I don't know the normal price for the service but I will get an estimate from ex-stink when I need it.

We live in Western Suburbs of Chicago. My wife and I were in northern MN. One of our sons had fainted in a Doctor's office and in the elevator down fainted and had broken his neck - fortunately later he had a successful sugery and expected a full recovery. We only knew at the time he was in the hospital with a broken neck and had not lost any motion or sensation. During that time I got a call from another son who lives at our home the the sewer was backed up. We had had a similar issue about 9 months before and the problem was roots between the house and the outside clean out. We had a restore flow cleaning out and attempted to treat with root killer. I was pretty sure what the issue was but was out of state and focused on other issues. I googled for 99 sewer cleaning coupons and found ex-stink had a groupon coupon. I could not tell from the coupon if it was in our area so I called ex-stink. A nice lady answered the call. I did not explain the situation we were in but she explained the groupon coupon was for two other counties. She indicated that we could get the same deal with Angie's list. I was not a member of Angie's list. She indicated there was someone out in our neck of the woods and would offer the same deal if we could not become a member. She arranged that the person could come to the house later that morning. I was greatly relieved that the issue would be taken care of that day as we out of state and had other things on our mind. I joined Angie's list and alerted the office that they would see the request. I received a call indicating when the person was likely to come and I notified my son. I received a second call when he was close to arriving. He indicated that the he would just be restoring flow and that doing additional rodding would be an extra charge - I just needed the flow restored so that was ok with me. My son in IL helped by providing water flow when requested and the technician provided him with the video view of the blockage and issue - the joint between 4" cast iron and 6" clay pipe. He not only restored flow but rodded with 2", 4" and 6" to clear out the spot - at no extra charge. My son is not particularly comfortable with working with service people like this but reported an excellent consumer experience. They also included a 1 year on flow guarantee. I would rate this experience A+ on all counts. johnh...

Great job. They arrived on time, and finished the initial work (rodding the line to the street and viewing with a camera) quickly and efficiently. Unlike the plumber who flushed the line last year, he did not tell me I absolutely had to get a new, wildly expensive sewer line, but instead noted that as long as I had it rodded once a year, I should be fine. I also asked him to unclog a very clogged sink drain, which he did, only charging me what I would have paid had I gotten another Angie's List big deal. (The sewer line part of the job was also an Angie's List big deal.) I will definitely use this company again.

Dave & Kurt took time to explain what the 99 deal was before they started and then to show and what was wrong. In the end I needed the line to the 90 degree bend hyrojet cleaned. It was a big job for my four unit building. It looked like the grease had been building up since the building was build back in 1913. When I looked down the catch basin there was a huge white brick like rock of grease. Dave gave me a price of 650 and applied the 99 to that as well as giving me a product to put in my drains every week for maintenancel. It took quite awhile and I felt I got a good price for the time & effort it took to clear it. I even asked if they had charged enough given it was evident once they were in there it was more of a job than they'd imagined. Dave who will one day be the owner of this family business stuck to his price saying it was a lesson for him. It shows a deal of integrity and I will continue to give this family my business. The sewer line out to the street wasn't causing the backup. However the scope showed cracks which fortunately for me were on city property. The process for that in Chicago is to have the plumber file for a permit with the city and then come out and scope for the inspector, showing the inspector where the problem is & giving him a DVD. I checked with the city to confirm this. That was a separate job for Ex-Stink which cost 495. Ex-stink got that sorted in five days. The city came out in early October. These guys are good and honest. Hire them.

Dave came out and determined the primary sump pump was not working and replaced it ($500.00) told me over the phone that the backup pump and the battery backup system were functioning. Ten days later the battery backup started beeping and alerted us to a problem with the battery. Upon inspecting the battery I found the terminals corroded. I promptly called Ex-Stink and Dave called back saying that his Angie's list ad did not say anything about about cleaning the battery terminals. He said that he looked at the lights on the console to determine if everything was working. I would say the following things in the ad would cover the Battery maintenance, but you be the judge. Rodding of my sewer line had no issues - when they rod, it also comes with a 1 year warranty. The blockage from my tub was stubborn but Dave/Frank was able to get past it. Dave/Frank did a great job.

They found stuff in our drain and suggested a power flush. We did it and no problems since. We felt that the price and quality of work was good. There was only one issue..the camera got stuck. The had to cut some pipe to get it out. They repaired the pipe after the camera came out.

Ex-Stink came when they said. They called me before they came to confirm the time and date. They were professional,polite and.courteous. Ex-Stink gave me the stated discounts but just as important , Harold told me what No other plumbing company had told me before.. He.said he could not get through this specific area of debri and that the CITY WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR WHERE THE PROBLEMS were located. Other plumbing companies kept charging for years for what they couldn't fix? I then checked with the city and Harold from Ex-Stink was correct. He saved me thousands of dollars and the city fixed my other problem. I have since passed Ex-Stink name on to neighbors. They were both very thankful and grateful for the jobs well done.

Dave is very professional and very helpful. He visited our place within defined time window and explained everything in detail. He spent good amount of time to resolve our issue. he also suggested if problem come back within six months than hydro jetting is advisable. He cleaned everything after work done. we also purchased liquid (not Drano) for preventive action from him. I would definitely use Ex-stink and Dave again. This company will be our permanent plumbing service provider for all our future need. Thanks Dave.

I purchased the Angie's List big deal. It was a timely pet as I have had a sump pump making noises lately. Ex-Stink responded immediately and setting am appointment was very easy. Dave arrived promptly on time and immediately went to work. He was friendly and professional. He quickly found the issue was a failing sump pump. He offered to do the service immediately and I would have taken him up on it but we have a home warranty that requires a specific service provider. I will certainly call Ex Stink if I encounter any more plumbing issues.
