Description of Work: Thiesse Plumbing fixed a toilet that wasn't flushing right and in the kitchen, they also did some drain cleaning in only about 20 minutes.

 + -1 moreNick arrived on time. He was very polite and helpful. He at first was not able to install the water filter because it was defective, but he advised about how to go about getting a replacement and then said he would come back later in the day to install it if I was able to get a replacement. He then fixed the faucet and at my request looked at the toilet and bathtub drain. He got them both working well.
Description of Work: They installed a water filter, fixed a leaky faucet, reamed out both the toilet and the bathtub drain so that they worked better.

 + -1 moreWe could not be happier with the quality of the work. We will be using Thiesse for all of our plumbing needs.
Description of Work: The first floor bathroom in our home was a hodge podge of different types of fixtures and faucets. Thiesse Plumbing helped us first of all, by directing us to websites showing the quality and style of fixtures we wanted. After consulting with Amy, we placed our order, and two of the Thiesse Plumbers did the installation. They were polite, professional, and punctual. Recognizing other plumbing in our home in need of updating, we also had Thiesse replace the kitchen sink and faucet, again having given us wise counsel about the options. Amy made a special effort to find a supplier to obtain the one fixture that the manufacturer said was back-ordered (after two months of waiting). She actually drove to the supplier so that our work could be done in a timely fashion. We also had Thiesse install two exterior faucets.

We had another company out here (for 2.5 hours on their invoice!), they were still here when Thiesse came out, and saw how the work was completed in tops - 1/2 hour (we had to pay emergency rates at this point). Thiesse was professional, complete, thorough and accomplished their "rodding" to perfection. Turns out, you have to "rod" DOWN rather than "UP" as some other lesser companies believe.
Description of Work: One of Thiesse's professional plumbers, Tim, came out and rodded out our overflowing kitchen sink/garbage disposal waste line in record time.

Description of Work: I called this company as they are local and asked if they sold sump pumps and if I could get a quote as I was looking to replace a broken pump. The person I spoke with told me that the lady who handles pricing was not in the office and would call back that day or the next day. It is now a week later and another company has completed the work.

Description of Work: Thiesse did the plumbing involved in 3 bathroom remodels, re-piped 3/4th of all plumbing in home, replaced hose bibs, replaced 2 steam heaters with new ones and repair work to steam heat system. In additional, they have done misc. plumbing as needed.

 + -1 moreI contacted Thiesse twice. Emailed the first time and called the second and left a message and never got a return call. The third time I called I got hold of someone. I was promised a call from an estimator who will stop by and look at the project. Never got the call back. I had to follow up and was never able to get through. I have read on Angie's list comments some customers complaining how bad Thiesse's responsiveness is, I can say I am another witness of it.

 + -1 moreI noticed a huge pipe in our basement was dripping every time we flushed the toilet on the first floor. Ewww. I called Thiesse on a Monday or Tuesday and the person on the phone was great; she explained that the toilet probably wasn't sealed to the floor tightly, that it wasn't an emergency (i.e. fixing it in the next few days would be okay) and then she offered me up a few options for days and times they could be there that week. This was awesome, most the plumbers I had called basically told me that they couldn't be there any time in the next week or two. He was a little grungy (his fingers were black with grease or something) but polite, on time, and did a great job. The work was done a few months ago and we've had no trouble since.

 + -1 moreI cannot tell you enough how completely happy I was with the entire experience of dealing with this company. The office staff was pleasant and responsive. The plumber who actually came to do the work, Tim, came on schedule each visit and was absolutely first rate in every way. He was courteous, professional, did the work promised to our full satisfaction, and cleaned up after himself on each of the two days he was working at our home. After a very frustating initial experience with one of Thiesse's local competitors, Gilchrist-Traynor, who came out to view the identical work, (see Angie's List report) we couldn't have been happier with the work Thiesse performed for us. If we need additional plumbing work, we will definitely call them again!
Description of Work: All bathroom fixtures and plumbing were the original stuff for our 1964 home. Work done was replacing washers and parts for 2 leaking bathroom sink faucets and one leaking bathroom tub, replacement of a second bathroom's leaking stall shower head kit, adjusting/loosening 3 cut-off valves, retooling 3 outdoor faucets, washers and parts needed for all of the above. All totaled came to 4.5 hours of labor.

 + -1 moreTim was really cheerful. Theisse Plumbing sends you a bill after the work is done. They charge $98 for the first hour but they are pretty quick. I've used them several times for my 1920's house and have always been pleased.
Description of Work: After I had my shower retiled the tub faucet pipe was too short and needed to be replaced. Tim ''installed owners diverter spout for bath tub'' and then ''replaced the shower arm and handle for hose faucet'' to make the shower arm look all shiney and new too. He also replaced a broken handle on an outdoor faucet. The labor was $98 and $12.45 for parts.

 + -1 moreCompany rep called about 15 min beforehand to make sure I was ready for the 8:15 appointment at my condo. Plumber arrived on time and got right to work. He worked neatly and steadily and also fixed of a couple of related things I hadn't thought to request but that were needed and appreciated. I had been concerned to find a plumber able to work with old, original plumbing, and was pleased to learn that he was quite familiar with the property. I was very pleased with the service as well as the price.

 + -1 moreDealing with the office setting up the appointment went very smoothly, and the plumber arrived on time. He was very knowledgeable, courteous, and friendly yet business-like. One thing that surprised me slightly was not paying at the time of service, but being billed afterward. This was convenient, but it also meant I didn't know the cost immediately. Price seemed a little steep, perhaps, but I was generally satisfied and would call Thiesse again.
Description of Work: (August 2005) Cleared clogged bathroom sink drain (the reason for finally calling a plumber), replaced leaking drainpipe in other bathroom sink, and repaired two dripping faucets (bathtub and bathroom sink). Did not tighten the loose kitchen sink fixture, after reporting its bolts to be so rusted that attempting repair was likely to cause further damage and possibly require immediate replacement.

Description of Work: I WANTED TO GET AN IDEA OF WHAT THEY WOULD CHARGE FOR A BROKEN DISPOSAL AND A LEAKING TOILET. I HAD AN UNPLEASANT EXPERIENCE WITH THE RECEPTIONIST AND AMY. THEY BOTH ABRUPTLY INFORMED ME THAT THEY DON'T DO ESTIMATES AND REPAIR WORK. IT'S $90/HOUR, THAT'S IT. THEY COULDN'T TELL ME WHEN SOMEONE COULD CALL ME BACK. I FELT THEY WERE RUDE. THEY MADE ME FEEL AS IF MY CALL WAS A WASTE OF THEIR TIME, NOT A VERY GOOD FIRST IMPRESSION. A POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE. WHAT'S REALLY DISAPPOINTING IS THEY ARE ONLY ONE MILE AWAY FROM OUR HOME. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A CONVENIENT SERVICE OPTION FOR US.

THEY CONTACTED THE VILLAGE SEVERAL TIMES UNTIL THE VILLAGE REMEDIED THE PROBLEM. THE EVEN USED A CAMERA IN THE LINE TWICE AT THE VILLAGE'S INSISTENCE TO HIGHLIGHT THE PROBLEM.
