We had purchased a big deal for the service, and it turned out fine. The guy called ahead of time, and he said he would arrive before noon, he showed up, treated my tree, explained to me about the treatments and went. It will hopefully save my tree.

Davis Tree Service will come to your home to learn what services you require for your trees. Based on the health of your tree(s), they will trim your tall trees or advise if your plants can be saved (sadly, no, for the ash trees, due to the emerald ash borer)

Everything went well. The tree was about two stories high and it's branches hung over our one story home. The didn't remove the stump because it was too close to the neighbor's fence and they didn't want to chance damaging their fence. We did use an Angie's List coupon for the service.

Dan came within a few days of my call and assessed our tree. An estimate was emailed that night. We were able to accept by email and the work was scheduled for just a couple of weeks later. The crew and Dan arrived as planned, completed the trimming and later in the day returned to place the cables in place. Dan came at the end of the day to ensure I was happy with the work. They cleaned up all branches. I was very happy with the work and will use them again as needed to keep the tree in shape.

The crew was on time and again discussed what I wanted removed before any cutting was done. Davis Tree care used a bucket truck in the alley as well as a climber in the tree. No fencing or landscaping was damaged and all wires were worked around without problem. Fast, efficient and clean. Payment was a snap as well with electronic invoicing and web payment. I will certainly use Davis Tree Care in the future.

I called to get an estimate to trim our four trees. I was told when I called that I had to email them a request. I did so and they never contacted me. I emailed them back once, no response. I then called and still no one ever contacted me to come out.

Owner called promptly after the service was bought. Won't know if it worked until next year, when the tree leafs out.

The company is very responsive and professional. Dan Norton came over the day we called and we had an estimate for the services the same day. A crew of four men came and were careful, skilled, and delivered the services that we wanted. They all worked very hard at their varying tasks, all the branches were removed from our yards, and the areas were raked to remove any litter. Mr. Norton stopped by during the tree trimming job to check on how it was going.

Dan was great. I received immediate response to my e-mails to ask questions, set up appointment for service, etc.. I highly recommend them.

Rob Davis REALLY knows his business. He is THE consummate tree specialist: he knows everything about any tree or shrubbery that I have in my yard (of which there are many kinds) and he knows just what to do to save any tree that can be saved and to keep my trees happy and healthy. I trust his opinions and advice without question and his prices are always reasonable. Rob and company have come to my aid time and time again as storms have rolled across my area over the years and have left damaged trees and broken branches in their wake. Rob has always been quick to respond to my requests for service - for this most recent work, he and Dan were in my backyard assessing the damaged tree within an hour after I made the phone call to request their help! Their highly skilled workers were in my yard removing the branch on the garage the very next morning and will be returning in the near future to shape and trim all my trees and bushes. I'd never trust anyone else but Rob Davis with my trees - he and Dan are so wonderful that I'd like to bake them a cake! :)

They were fine. They came out, explained exactly and how they did the work. They knew what they were doing, very professional. They also responded to my numerous e-mails.

When I called the office, Dan came out with a bid within hours! He offered a rate for removal and one for trimming out. Given the diseased tree, it needed to go. The other tree was tangled in the electical, phone and calbe lines and would regrow in a few years to again interfere. Thus I took them both down. The biggest issus was contacting the condo board menbers to get cars parked under the tree moved. This took a few days. Afte this happened the crew arrived. I was most impressed. They were attentive to safety and details. Each had his job yet they worked together well and would offer suggestions to ensure safety when they got to removing the tree trunks. I'm sure the job was much easier with the crane yet they moved quickly. It was like watching a dance to see them move together. I envied the men who were swinging from the crane halters as they moved through the trees.

After reading the reviews on Angie's List, we contacted Davis Tree Care to provide an estimate to remove a diseased elm tree from our back yard. Because it was located near the house and abutting our neighbors fence, it required more time and effort than an easily accessible tree. Because Davis Tree Care had an industrial crane that they could park in my front yard on plywood ramps and extend it over the top of my two story house to reach the tree, they were the only provider that I considered to do the work. After agreeing to terms, they came out the next day and removed the tree.

Arrived as promised and applied the treatment.

I found Davis Tree Care on Angies List. I considered only highly-rated firms that were active in my West suburban area. After carefully reading reviews on several companies, I contacted two for estimates. Both replied quickly, and gave me written estimates by email. Davis Tree Care came in over $1,200 lower than the other firm. I accepted their estimate via email and five days later, a six-person crew showed up at the pre-designated time of 8:30 a.m. The huge tree was close to my property line and surrounded by phone, cable and electric cables going to the neighbor's house as well as to my own. I kept my fingers crossed! The crew used a crane and a bucket truck to disassemble the tree, like most people carve a turkey. The more modest sized limbs went though a chipper and into the back of a box truck. The crane was used to load very large logs onto a truck. By 2:30 p.m. the tree was down and hauled away, the stump was ground down below grade, the electric and phone lines remained undisturbed. Davis Tree Care is totally professional. Their response time is great and their crew performance is top of the line. Each of the crew members worked d*** hard, and more than earned my tip for the day of $40 apice. With tip included, I still saved a lot in comparison with the other bid I received. Given the need for tree service work, I would definitely call Davis Tree Care in the future. I highly recommend them. They can be trusted.

Very well. a team of 4 people showed uo one morning and did the work in less than 1/2 hour.and clean ,raked all the debries and took everything with the, great job.

Could have been made easier - gentleman came out to site after I asked a few times that we meet in person vs over phone/email. I explained which trees I wanted removed. On the day of the service, they called and said they did not know which trees to remove and my main contact was unable to make it to the job site. This was one week after the original schedule date (due to weather). I was told I needed to leave work to specify to the crew which trees needed to be removed or else the job would not get done. Very dissatisfied.

I had them give an estimate on tree removal. I was given a price of $850, $135 more for stump removal. I read the deal as $400 worth of service for 1/2 price. It is more of a credit towards a job worth more than the coupon. When I called to inquire about the pricing, they just responded with a generic email. I contacted Angie's List for help.

Trees look great! Both were expertly trimmed, exactly as expected. Cleanup was amazing, with not even a trace of sawdust remaining. I felt the price was good as well. Work was performed only a few days after I placed the initial call. Would definitely use again, and highly recommend to others.

The estimate was done the same day I made initial contact; the tree removal was scheduled for the next week. Two men arrived early, surveyed the project, removed and disposed of the tree and cleaned up the site in approx. 90 minutes. The project, from initial contact through completion took less than a week.

Gave us an estimate. Showed up on time. Performed services as promised. Cleaned up entire area. Very professional.

I called and got a prompt estimate, which was half the amount that another contractor was quoting. Although I was not home to direct them in doing the work, they knew exactly how it should be done and exceeded my expectations. The neighbors were also pleased to have the branches cut back from their property.

We are very satisfied with the service that they provided. They were very good.

I believe we were given an estimate the same day we called for one -- it wasn't the lowest one we received but we accepted it on the basis of a neighbor's glowing recommendation. The work was scheduled a week or two out and was then delayed another week or two. Once they started, the work was quickly and professionally completed. They had to bring in some large equipment through an existing fence, but they managed to take out and then replace a section of it themselves without damaging it. (We were also lucky there was no lawn to be ruined, though we brought in landscapers to redo the backyard a month later anyway.) They did (accidentally or intentionally, we weren't told) cut our cable line, but Comcast cheerfully replaced it the following day at no charge. Overall we were quite satisfied with their work.
